OK- no matter how frustrated I get at my boss I gotta give him a big old shoutout-he has offered a home he owns in LaJolla to me and hubby for a week this summer...GEEZ....this place is magnificent-infinity pool-view of the ocean-I was speechless (no rare feat). We really need a vacation BAD- just the two of us...we won't even need to rent a car-he keeps an SUV there. I am blown away and so excited....I just didn't know how we could afford to squeeze in a vacation this year...and then he offered this out of the blue. YEAH!

i am grateful...
I just had to climb in a window as I locked my youngest and myself out...ahhh...that was fun-unscrewing the screen..lifting it out...PRAYING the window was not locked from when I had it open this morning...then hauling my fat *ss in hahahah not a pretty sight:) What was funny was my son's reaction..he has very few words...and he heard me say Oh Sh*T and promptly thought that would be a great phrase to sing out over and over hahaha it made me laugh and it just didn't matter

BarbaraA - I ordered emu oil for my co-worker who is pregnant with twins. She loves it, but is still getting stretch marks - don't think you can avoid those with twins!
Amyjo - How are you and Daisy doing?
0 -
Omaz, you never know, it may still work but I never had stretch marks so????
Shelley and I are meeting tomorrow and I will post a pic of us!

Barb - I figured it was so good for my skin during rads it might help with skin during pregnancy too. It's great stuff, thanks again for clueing us in!!0
-
Omaz - Daisy is at the groomers today. She was so shaggy she was looking like a little Ewok. I am really tired all the time and have been sleeping a lot, as in all day! Then all night too! Things are a little hectic with trying to get Mom's taxes finished and then comes the estate inventory and settling all claims against the estate. And the beat goes on.....
I use the emu oil during rads and I am still using it. I love the way it makes my skin feel as my skin us usually very dry and itchy, but not with the emu oil.

GrannyD/AmyJo - so glad you both are done with rads. AmyJo you should see a difference in your skin with using the sliver cream within a few days.
I have missed being on the board but work and life just got in the way. Last week my dad was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Starting last Thursday, dr put him on 5 days of chemo and he responded quite well to it with little nausea. His white count was over 200 Wed. and by Sat. morning it was down to normal. It did bring his count way low and he had to have 5 blood transfusions and several transfusions of blood platelets. He is still in the hospital as his kidneys are not where the Dr. wants them to be, so we are thinking this weekend. He has been trouper through this whole process, and told my SIL that he was going to loose his hair, both of them. I was able to fly to Amarillo, TX where he was in the hospital over the weekend to see him and help out. Without the chemo the Dr said he would have weeks to live but with chemo it may extended his life a few years. We will know in three weeks it the chemo put him in remission, if not I do not think he will continue with treatments. He is almost 82 and has lived a full life, the past 5 years without our mother since she passed away in 2006. He kept asking me if I was ok the whole time since we had not seen each other in over a year. Told him I was fit as a fiddle and doing great, full remission, so we need to make sure you are too. That was the truth, doing great.
Expect to see the PS on the 25th to talk about my surgery to remove the left TE and go without recon on both. I will be so happy when that is resolved.

mjbmiller - so sorry to hear about your Dad. Sending prayers that the chemo is working and doing its job. I am gald that he is not having any bad SEs from it. Glad to hear that you are doing good and have finally come to the decision that is right for you for the reconstruction. Take care of yourself and get the rest you need to stay healthy.

amyjo- The fatigue is normal after rads. My RO warned me that I could remain tired for a month or so. Just give in to the fatigue and rest a lot. Be sure to drink a lot too. I think all the dead cells from rads need to get flushed out. Just my opinion, but it can't hurt. Glad Daisy won't be looking like a Wookie any more. Spring is coming, my friend. SO much to celebrate.
mjbmiller- I'm sorry about your dad, but grateful he has you. How lucky he is to have a daughter with such a positive, "can do" attitude!

mjb-I have to agree with DesignerMom, he is a lucky man and must have done it right for you to care so much:)
AmyJo- I LIKE WOOKIES!

mjbmiller-glad you were able to go see your Dad. You are right it is so hard to see them when they are ill. I am going through the same thing right now with my Dad. He has lung mets and is in rads. Will finish this week and start chemo on Monday. So far the rads has not helped with his pain so I am a bit concerned about that. I will keep you and your dad in prayer my friend.

Sherryc - I had some rads to for pain with bone mets and I did not really notice any improvement until about 2 or 3 days after I was done with them. The relief was dramatic so I hope your Dad has the same result. Pain is so hard to live with day in and day out. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} to you and your Dad.

Mjb: Hope your dad gets good results.
AmyJo: Rest all you can. Rads tires you out. Plus you've got the mental strain of taking care of your mom's things. I had to do that with my mother's estate a couple of years ago and it wears on you mentally. Be good to yourself!

Amyjo thanks that is a bit encouraging.
