Update from my onco.... His office called this afternoon and wants to move my April 8th appointment up to March 29th. Not sure why, but it may be due to the last bone scan results. I will keep you all posted on what developes. I only have 2 more rads then I am done. YEAH!

Amy Jo...hope you pain is better....thank heaven you all have told be about Calendula gel....it works so well. My breast feels a little swollen today...23/33...is that really what is going on? Was looking back through some reports yesterday and was almost surprised to see that this 'event' all started June 14...when I found the lump...as they say the rest is history....sure will be glad when the next 10 treatments are over...then onto the next step...Armidex...have heard so many stories about that drug..

kallimom - your skin will start to get a little tight which makes is seem like the breast is swollen. Just keep the whole area covered in the creams you are using. Glad you found the Calendula gel. If it starts to get sore or peeling with the redness let you RO know, don't wait until the weekly appointment to tell him. Do not panic if the skin starts to look dark gray or even black and that is just burnt skin and will peel off. If the red areas are tender ask for the silvadene cream. It is a prescription that will help heal those areas quickly and ease the pain. 10 more to go so you are fast approaching the finish line. Remember that for at least 2 weeks after treatments you will still need to keep the area covered with the same creams you are currently using. Talk with you onco about any concerns you have with the Amidex and make the decision that is best for you. Know we are all wishing you well and sending hugs and prayers your way.
My pain is still significant, but I am managing and getting more rest so I will be fine. I finish my last rad on Monday then see the onco on Tuesday. Keep moving forward one step at a time.

annettek - thanks for the thoughts. I really need all the encouragement I can get as the last bone scan results were a little scary and not sure what wait for me at the next onco visit on Tues.

Thinking of you, Amy Jo. I get my bone scan report on Wednesday. It's always a very unsettling time waiting between the scan and the results.

amyjo- I am thinking of you all day long today. Oh are you going to feel triumphant after this last rads treatment! Praying for only good news with your scans.
sherry- How are your aches and pains? I hope the short course of steroids keeps them away forever. Thinking of you as you get your scans too!
BarbaraA- Pretty new photo! Not just an attractive couple, you look comfortable as old shoes! (I don't mean that in a bad way).

YEAH!!! I am done with rads! I had a physical therapy session that did wonders for my shoulders. Then tonight DH took me to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner. We had a good time and now we are watching movies by the fireside.
Omaz - No Daisy did not get me flowers. But she did not hide my keys or phone today either. ;-)

Thanks for all the congratulations. Now I just have to get my skin healed.
Update from the onco visit today - - - We will be staying on the same course of treatment as my number keep going down and the increases in the bone met activity was slight and in the area of the radiation so that may be the cause. We will check again in a couple of months or if my numbers stop going down. They did all my labs for my next treatment on April 8th so I am back on my "normal" schedule.

Congrats to the graduates...YAY. I hope they had a party for you at your center.Mine did not have nothing.just another day.nada.Im 9 weeks out.Good luck everyoneone.Keep up the creamin.

No party at my rad office either, no bell, no gong, nada. Oh well we had a big cyber party and that was so much better. Hope everyone finishes in great shape. Keep up the creams for at least 2 weeks after you finish. Thinking of you all. Amy Jo

Hi all - I have missed every single one of you...glad for all the good news going on here. HERE IS A SHOUTOUT END OF RADS YEAHHHH FOR AMY JO AND GRANNY DUKES!
(i am just pasting this below as I am too old and tired to keep typing the same thing on a couple of forums hahaha 'scuse the laziness:)
NYC was a blast but my new *boobs* set off the full body scanner- that was FUN. The TSA woman came up to pat my chest down and I snarled- BACK OFF LADY YOU ARE NOT TOUCHING ME! I had already told them before the scanner that I had just had exchange surgery, etc...I told her this, she said I have to- I said nope- you are not gonna grope me there...have at anywhere else=not there- wanna see my boob id cards? it was a mess...then she came back and said- OK we will just test your hand?! Sheesh...
What a flipping surprise when I got to my hotel- I decided on Waldorf after booking a cheapo rate (matched what the sales team had to pay at Sheraton)....I checked in and they upgraded me to a corner luxury king executive suite! hahaha- oh joy-I had a foyer, a living room-fireplace, a bedroom, a dressing room and the coolest art deco black and white marble bath-all said the suite was about 1000 sqft. It was absolutely wonderful to be spoiled like that for a week. I walked all day Sunday and Monday- took the SI ferry and waved at the old girl in the harbor-then scored some funky loots and a coat in Soho and the Village. Oh yeah, I worked too hahaha a little. This post sounds shallow but you know what, after so much crap it felt good to be just a little shallow. I met some incredible people and it is always great to get so much good feedback from clients.
Finally made it to PJ CLarkes and low and behold, there was Alec Baldwin...I gotta say- he was kind of underwhelming except for his magnificent hair:0 I must admit that was the strangest meal I have ever had as I sat with 6 guys and took them through the BC process to date...it was pretty cool.
Met with PS when I got home and he is happy with how things are going- will see him once a week for next three weeks and then see when we go for the nips...
I am nervous as the time for my intitial followup visits (3 mos) are coming with onc...oh well...I am gonna go plant some flowers today- I went nuts buying them (which is crazy since I have no $) hahaha

Designer Mom-Oh geez, it didn't hit me until you just said that that you had said that. To be honest, I had a cry while I was there thinking nobody liked me! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...a couple that had written me had to back out and I didn't want to bug anybody. Darn it...ok..NEXT YEAR (or sooner if I manage another trip back in between) I love that city.
p.s. I made Alec use the shower while I was in the tub:)

anettek- It's a deal! Let me know when you are coming back. Just promise you will try to stay at the Waldorf again. It's my favorite NYC hotel, especially the gorgeous flower arrangements!
