I don't mind messaging them first, but I'm not a big fan of calling guys or asking them out. I guess I wasn't raised that it's ok, and the other part of me is not wanting to be pushy etc...

Thanks Joy on the good luck wishes, I don't know how I'll sleep tonight :)

    NEW BOY FRIENDS!

I am seeing some men every day......

As soon as I wake up,

Will Power helps me get out of bed

Then I go to see John.

    Then Charlie Horse comes along,

& when he is here, he takes a lot of my time & attention.

    When he leaves,

    Arthur Ritis

shows up & stays the rest of the day.

He doesn't like to stay in one place very long, so he takes me from joint to joint.

After such a busy day, I'm really tired & glad to go to bed with Ben Gay.

What a life! Oh, yes, I'm also flirting with Al Zymer

    and thinking of calling

    JACK DANIELS or

    JOHNNY WALKER

to come and keep me company.

    Now remember:

Life is like a roll of toilet paper ...the closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes...so, have fun, have no/good thoughts, learn to laugh at yourself, and count your blessings!

    Many Blessings and Hugs.  Joy

I am TOO passive with guys.   I won't even call them unless I am returning their call...and sometimes I am not even comfortable doing that.   I was raised in a traditional southern home, and women just did not go after men....of course, I am older now and I see nothing wrong with it.

I guess that works though for some guys, the ones that want to be the aggressor or don't want you to make it too easy for them. Who knows, if there was a black and white way to do things I'd prefer that, maybe go back to the old fashioned way of doing things! :)

While agree, the old fashioned black and white way seems to be easier, as women, it takes away our choices which is also frustrating.

True... however our choices are so limited, at least I feel they are anyway as it is!

Hi DF, even with the time difference you should have had your interview already. How do you feel about it? Everytime I felt I did lousy on an interview -- it was actually better than I thought.

I am sure she did great!   Probably just a question of whether she wants the job after the interview...

Ok ladies...what a long day, just got home from my 10:30 interview. Decisions, decisions... take the job, and move, take the job and commute, keep looking? Either way they want me to start tomorrow, so much for camping the next 3 nights! I'm still in shock right now! :)

Congratulations!   How far away is it?   Did you say about 35 minutes?   I wouldn't bother moving for that....doesn't seem that far....

    Thank you :)

It's about 35 miles, which with traffic downtown takes at least 45 minutes each way! Plus the gas, and my daughter does sports I wouldn't get home in time to take her to practices ...I'm still kicking it around!

i knew they would love you.   can you arrange to start next  Monday so you can make arrangements?   not worth moving for 45 minute drive    if you take the job, you can make decision re move in a few months   i think it would be good for you to try working and see how it goes.  it will definitely broaden your world and you'll meet lots of new people  this is a good problem to have   Way to go DF!

The problem with that is my daughter, if it was just me I wouldn't worry about moving. That's hard on kids in the middle of the school year. If I'm going to move I'd rather do it now before school starts, especially because she's going into middle school. So I could give my 30 day notice and go from there???

You're right. I thought she was just a tiny girl but middle school is a tough time for kids. Well then, pick up and move - it will be a whole new beginning for you. Since you are renting, it's easier to move. Let us know what you decide to do.

Woo Hoo DF, I knew they would love you.  I think it would be fun to look for new place!  Try not to look at it as problems but possibilities!  Always a few bumps w change.  But look at it as great new possibilities!  Did you like the job description, do you think you will like working there, if so go.....!

You could find childcare near your work and use address till you find a new place.  Ive known lots of people whw have done that worked well for them!

I know and 6th grade here starts middle school. So if I'm going to do it I want to do it now ya know? She's old enough to stay home alone for a couple hours here and there, but most sports practices and choir concerts start at 6 or so, or she'd need picked up before I get home from work. I gotta kick it around a bit and see what I come up with. Maybe I'll do the drive for the next week or 2 and see how I feel about it and how long it's taking me. I'm super excited, I know I'll love the job :)

I'm very excited for you DF ... what a wonderful opportunity. If you moved closer to work, would you then be able to get her to her sports and choir. Or can you arrange a car pool so one mother takes them and you can pick them up to come home. The only way I survived as a working single mother was with carpools.

If I moved closer yeah I'd be able to do those things at her school, getting off at 5. Where we live now if I commuted I wouldn't be home in time. I don't know, I also worry about the gas money... We'll see, lots to think about right now! Still can't believe I spent 5 hours there today and am going back tomorrow!
