HI everyone,
Sorry I have been out of touch. I had a grand vacation and great weather. It'll be hard to get back in the swing of work, thats for sure!
Happy Easter to all of you celebrating and if you celebrate passover or other holy holiday this week, happy holiday to you as well. So happy the rain held off and the kids were able to have Easter egg hunts!
I need to catch up on all the comments but did see an early June event is planned. Can likely make that date but need to arrange a sitter. So when the date is confirmed let me know for sure.
Talk soon.

Hi Karen - back from vacation - what a great time... I even went down some of the slides and swam the "lazy river" and my foob was fine. Looking forward to the late lunch in June... and getting to meet everyone... catching up on all the WNY news... can't believe the sun is still hiding on us. Esther0

Happy Monday Ladies,
Would love to meet you all, and while I will more than likely be working 7-3 that Sunday, don't make plans around me. As I'm sure it is with all of you life gets confusing and I never know when I actually AM available for most things until that day.
Just realized we have Mothers Day in 2 weeks and sent DH a text "what r we doin for Mom's d?" to which he replied 'say "hi mom"'.. so much help! Still feels like winter and we've already booked most weekends this summer between showers and weddings! Oh well, if the weather's good, really can't complain. Back to lunch, and then 3 more of work!

HI Ladies, I can do Sat or Sunday. Whatever is easier for people working weekends. Hope you holiday was wonderful. Thanks for reminding me about passover. One improvement I need to make: be aware of other's religion!!
Easter was good, daughter broke it off with boyfriend. I'm a little sad, I liked him and they've been together for 5 years. Better now than later with children involved I suppose. Just got so used to him being around, he's part of the family, but I don't have to date him. Don't know what happened but she's not saying much either.
Rads are going okay, having a terrible time with my skin, really raw. I'm trying everything. Glad when this will be over. Then onto hormones.

Maureen, my daughter broke up from her 4 yr. boyfriend too. DD doesn't say much about why, I liked him, but I Know he didn't relate to a 13 yr. old and a 14 yr. old and that was a problem, DD comes with her children first and foremost. She is a great mom, and she is a package deal. I remember when she was in high school I had to drive home the boy she had just broken up with, and he cried all the way to his home, I felt so bad for him. He was just so sad. About the burn, there is a prescription cream that is called Silverdine or something like that, that really works on burns, maybe your RO could prescribe it for you, I do know it is expensive without a drug card. I too am fine with Sat and Sun. waiting to hear from a few more of us Karen

HI everyone- are you talking about June 4th or 5th? I'd like to come, so count me in. At this point, aside from getting a sitter for the chosen date, I dont have any other plans that would override this!! Lets choose somewhere we can sit outside, have a drink/lunch?
Maureen- sad to hear about your daughter and her Bo, BUT, I am really really happy to know you raised and developed your daughter into a strong young lady; and that for what ever reason she had, she was able to carry through with a tough decision like that. You obviously raised a strong young lady with a great sense of self esteem. !!

I am a fellow Western New Yorker. I live in North Amherst/Getzville. I am a few years out from my diagnosis but I feel as if I can't leave breast cancer behind. I had a Bilateral Mastectomy with Immediate Reconstruction (Ha!). I developed Post Mastectomy Pain Syndrome since my surgeries that reminds me daily that I had breast cancer. I work full time so that helps me to not focus on it too much. I have two boys, one is almost 18 and my youngest is 15. My oldest is graduating from high school this year and going to college in the fall. I can't believe that I am actually old enough to have a 18 year old. In my mind I am still 25! Breast cancer has taught my kids to appreciate life more and to not take advantage of good health. My kids tell me of so many kids in their school that drink and take drugs. I guess that is one big positive of breast cancer. I would love to meet up with anyone in the area.I am not entirely familiar with this forum, so I hope that I am doing this correctly. Let me know if anyone would need any help since I am not in any form of active treatment and wouild be more then happy to help out. Oh I forgot to wish everyone a Happy Easter/Passover.

Dear Pahsa, We are a group of about 9 women who bonded on this site and been communicating , some of us since January. Some of us are in active treatment, some finished except for the AI. We talk about many subjects, cancer, children, scan anxiety... We hold each other up, wait with those who are awaiting test results but have never met,Maureen and I did get to have coffee together. It was a joyful time. From the beginning, we had plans to meet in May or June. we have so far narrowed it down to the 4th or 5th of June. Waiting for a few more replies to pick the day. We would welcome a new member and have you join us in June. I'm sure others will stop by today to greet you.If you read a few pages, you will get an idea of who we are and what we talk about. Welcome pahsa! Karen

Welcome pahsa! Glad you could join us!! Understand your trouble with leaving bc behind, I want to everyday but still in active tx. so it's the reoccurring nightmare (LOL). I get the feeling I live very close to you. Thank you for the offer of help, one thing for sure, when you have bc, you quickly learn who your friends are and are not yielding surprising results. Please join us for our lunch in June, we have fun and keep posting, we're all in this together no matter how long it's been since active tx.
Karen: How did the birthday go? Did the kids have fun? BTW, how's Emily coping these day? Pray for her often.
Bevin, Glad you had a wonderful time, lucky you.
Star: Hope you had a wonderful time at the lagoon, that place is sooo much fun.
Hi YUMMY, hope all is well with you, Mother's Day, a yes, just around the corner. Men tend to think of these things AT THE LAST MINUTE!! (LOL) gotta love em though.
So finally getting the door fixed tomorrow, THANK GOD. Went to rads today and they're stopping the whole tx. and just doing the boosts for now cause my skin is sooo bad, have silvaderm cream and need to go out to dinner for DS 18th birthday,,,,,wait he can't be that old because I'm not that old!! Work is getting to me today, I just feel like telling people to go crawl in a hole, so unlike me. I think they're radiating my brain sometimes. Quick question, did anyone get blurry vision when going through irradiation or do I have chemo to thank for that? I will not chalk it up to old age because I'm not old, I want to get old but with grace and over many, many years to come.
ElleD where did you go?
Hi Kindone, you pick the day, whatever is easier for you. I remember when I worked in the medical field, prior to private sector, and you work any day, any time 24/7 most difficult part of that job. When I went to work in private sector, they asked if I'd be willing to work Xmas eve morning for a few hours, hell I didn't care, I've worked Xmas day double shifts that request was a gift, it's all in the attitude I guess.
Gotta get back to work and clear the area for MY NEW DOOR, that wasn't too expensive, life is good.
Hugs,
Maureen

Welcome Pasha... I'm not sure we ever leave BC behind... just learn to cope better each day. I'm over 1 year post surgery - and had a little mini-meltdown last night when the PCP office called to schedule an appointment about my labs... freaked out... was a tad nuts on the phone. Just to say - that it is not behind me... it is still with me... but today - I am coping much better than last night. Hugs to you Pasha - hope you find this wonderfully supportive group just what you needed.

Wow! What a warm welcome. I did not expect so many wonderful replies. Maureen,if you live in East Amherst then you are pretty close to me. where does your son go? I noticed that you mentioned something about the medical field, are you a nurse? I am a registered nurse. I would love to get to know people that live close to me but I don't want to just crash into your group and upset anyone.
starbeauty-I know how you feel about having a meltdown when your MD called . I get nervous at any kind of doctors appt, thinking that they are going to find something. . It does seem to get a little less anxiety producing as time goes on though.
Maureen- Sorry to hear about your skin. It sounds absolutely painful. Are you taking any medications that may be making you have blurry vision? Prednisone can cause visual changes. I am on Neurontin for nerve pain and I have noticed some visual changes from it.
Karen- Thank you for your warm welcome and intro into your group. It sounds like you guys have formed such a wonderful bond over time. I am glad that you have been able to help each other through the trials that breast cancer puts us through.

Hi you wonderful women!
I haven't been online in a while, and when I looked for you, you were asking about me! I am doing fine down here in the Southern Tier except for this darn weather. Geez. I've been fighting a nasty cold but all in all things are good.
It's good to hear that you all are relatively good too. I have to look at our calendar to see if I can get away in June. I'd love to meet you.
We're in the middle of a huge thunderstorm, so I'm signing off for now. Take care.

pahsa, crashing is most definitely allowed, it is even encouraged. We'd love for you to join our group. Maureen, the party just continues, DGS had his last Sat. with his friends, didn't want a cake, wanted to treat his friends to a Burger King excursion, 5 boys, they loved it, cake and ice cream on Sunday for family, one at their dada's house, then back here for our family and friends, Mica chose this upcoming Sat., a sleepover with 7 of her friends. And then we had Easter baskets too. I'm all chocolated out. Addison chose the cakes, triple chocolate fudge cake. They loved their presents, and had a great time spending their money gift from me on what they wanted, DGS on Ebay, DGD on a shopping excursion to Bflo, DD and DGD had a trip to Elmwood Ave to go to the little boutiques for her May dance dress, she looks stunning in it and to Marshalls for Track clothes. Now I have 2 teenagers. Now that's truly old, but I don't feel it, somedays my knees feel it, a thank you to Arimidex. Emily spent her Easter vacation in North Carolina with an aunt she is close to. Came back Wed. and spent the night here, she looked so at ease, C+ FS, will continue to monitor the home with drop in visits and counseling for both Emmie and her sister. It was so nice to see her smiling, hadn't seen that since before her mom passed. This is her designated safe house and either Susan or I are always home. Cannot wait to meet everyone, bevin - pick our day and I'll make reservations for our crew, which is nicely growing in number.

Hi Pasha - welcome to our group. so glad you joined us.
I too live in Amherst/Williamsville area. I am 5 months out from finishing my radiation and we're keeping track of some other areas but all in all doing very well. Especially since I just returned from vacation. ahhhhh!!
I have a young daughter who goes to catholic school - not in highschool yet. I agree with you though, I am 46 and feel in my mind like I am 29. Except , that I am still carrying my post pregnancy weight gain !! Ha!!
Oh well, hopefully with the nice weather, I can get out and begin walking in the evenings. You and Maureen are close by to me, if you like walking let me know. Always looking for someone to go with. Better yet - I want to start rollerblading again on the North Forest path. But - definately need a partner to walk or rollerblade there!
Karen- I love that name Addison. The first time I heard it was on that medical show that was popular a bit back, I fell in love with the name then! Sounds like you had a really great holiday week.
Starbeauty- hope eveyrthing is okay with your test results. When do you go in?
Ok- gotta run, its count down to the Sabres Game!! Let's go BUffalo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Pasha, my son goes to north too, and a senior. I live very close to Lou Gerig park where son played ball for years. DD graduated from north too, she was into soccer until injury sidelined her, tough adjustment for her. Not a nurse, worked in Lab medicine at roswell for 10years, stayed home with kids for a few years and returned to bioengineering firm in GI for last 15years. Love/hate relationship with my job. Only meds are vitamins at this point but will start AI post rads, not looking foward to that med. You are not crashing anything, please don't ever think that way
I like to walk, just don't have the energy right now but will join when energy returns.
Sabres are making me mad so I just turned the TV off.
ElleD and southern tier friends, stay safe, watching the weather channel and Syracuse is really flooded. Geesh, what's going on with this weather. Try to join us, we'll have so much fun, I can't wait, maybe I'll go topless to our outing (LOL)
I WANT HAIR, MORE HAIR, MORE HAIR!!!
Love,
Maureen

Hello Ladies, Welcome Pasha, I also not in active treatment except Al, out 3 yrs. Maureen and I also went to the same surgeon and onc as you. We have a lot in common and we will have a lot to talk about.
Maureen, That is my weekend off so it don't matter to me which day we chose. What ever day is best for all. I'll be there.
I just want to throw this out, I am on the Catholic site also and in May we are doing a novena to The Lady of Fantma. I am taking our prayer request up to her shrine in Lewiston, so if any one is interested you may PM me or just let me know your request and I will be happy to take it along with me.
I am going to Virgina Beach May 12-17th so I think it will be after that. I am so excited to be in warm weather. I can't wait.

Hi Ladies, Let's make it Saturday then, so we can rest on Sunday. Karen, ru calling in reservations or do you want me to? Let me know.
Guess what? THEY ARE INSTALLING MY DOOR, doing a great job, and the guy installing is cute too! Great day.
I had my first boost today went okay. Skin is a mess though. So here I sit with wig (too hot to wear wig) and I won't take it off because of the eye candy installing the door, two shirts because I can't wear a bra and hot boob (LOL)!!!
Kindone: Lady of Fatima is a beautiful place, please pray for all of the WNY girl's health and we beat this beast FOREVER. You are such a sweet woman, I can't wait to meet you and the rest of the girls
So the Sabres stunk, better luck next year, at their worst, they are always better than the Bills hehehehe
Also just found out DS ruined DH's tire. Took it back because it was wearing funny and they say it's caused by doing burnouts....don't think my son will be driving hubby's car anytime soon anymore. Teenagers, pain in the butt!!!
Gotta run, will post later
