Hi all....just want to wish everyone a good and healthy week. The three day week-end went by sooo fast and its back to work tomorrow. Husband doesn't feel well and was restless last night so neither of us slept well. It's only 9:30ish and I'm off to bed. I have a busy week, two dr appts, the dentist and we have parent conferences which are usually stressful. Hope kids and parents here are getting better. Will try to check in during the week. But for sure will see all on Saturday. Maureen, hope all is well with MRI. Susan, just wondering what you are in grad school for.

    Hi all,

Just a short post, as I am at work.  Prayers to all who are going for tests and presentations this week.  May all have excellent results.  Too bad for the Bills and Sabres this past weekend.  I will see everyone at Bravo on Saturday.  The place is very nice and the food is great.  Can't to catch up w/ everyone.

Jan, welcome aboard and excited to meet you on Saturday. You will have a great time, as we all do at our luncheon's.

Have a nice week, and see you all Saturday.

    Hugs and Prayers,

    Cheryl

Hi all, got my computer back, thankful I had DD's but thrilled to have my oldster back.  So is Sophie, my cat, she is per usual lying between me and the computer keyboard, I'll put her on top of the old monitor, she likes the heat.  Started sneezing again, maybe it is allergies.  Maureen - did you get the date for your MRI yet?  take care all. hugs, Karen

Thanks to everyone for the medication advice.  He is back to school and feeling much better.  Gave him Benadryl tonight because I had it in the house but next time I will know what to give him.

    See everyone Saturday!

Jan-I am in graduate school for Humanites with English as my major field.

Just reading over some of your posts...trying to get all the names straight...who has kids, who has grandkids, who is working, who is going to school. Have to be ready when we meet on Saturday. Can I bring a cheat sheet? Or maybe just write it on my arm. I do teach middle schoolers and I've learned a few tricks from them! See you soon.

    Way too funny Jan.

I am terrible with names and faces - so likely won't remember a face or name or screen name Saturday, but I promise we'll all introduce ourselves and have a great time.

I second what bevin said,  it's all about fun.

Doing well today, just really busy, never had the MRI, cause they never called.  I'll call tomorrow for a follow up.

    Looking forward to meeting everyone.

    Love,

    Maureen

Karen, glad you got the computer back.

Susan, how did the presentation go?  Hope your son is on the mend.  My son still has a cold, starting to think it's a sinus infection but getting him to go to a doc is like pulling teeth.

    Talk soon,

    Love,

    Maureen

    Hi Maureen!

My presentation went very well, and I am so glad to be done.  Then, i have one more on Monday and that is it for this semester! Wow, I can't believe how fast time is flying.  It is already almost Thanksgiving??  And we might get a tiny bit of snow at last?

My son is doing better.  I got a call from his teacher that he was out of control at his field trip, so I know he is feeling better Surprised She actually asked me whether I had given him any cold medicine because it was so out of character for him!  The pleasures of parenthood....

    See you all Saturday!

    Susan

Hi all, Maureen - the cold came back in my sinuses, I took Tylenol Cold multi-symptom at night and DayQuil Sinex for daytime sinus relief, and it worked well, since yor son's cold has settled in his sinus area you may want to try that, it took a day to start feeling relief.  I hope this is it for the winter.  Susan, so glad the presentation went well, I can't imagine it not going well for you, you must be a wonderful student!  Funny story on your son, I once had a teacher tell me that my Susan needed to speak more in class, at home it was hard to get a word in when she was on a role.  See you all on Saturday. hugs, Karen

Hi all, I'm afraid I won't be able to make it tomorrow, the cold came back with a vengeance.  My DD is down and out with the flu, feel like we need a quarantined sign on our door.  Jan, so sorry I won't be able to meet you, will have to make it the next time.  Starbeauty, I know both you and Susan are studying hard for Susan's presentation on Monday and your's on the 22nd.  It's almost over, I know you both will do well, then life can settle down for both of you.  Will be thinking of you all tomorrow.   hugs, Karen

Hi Karen, sorry you're feeling so sick, but hope it doesn't last long. I will miss meeting you tomorrow. Really need a break tomorrow and so lunch will be good. Feeling a little down today...just had a long week at work with parent conferences last night and again today and then I met with my PS today to plan for the exchange surgery. Just overwhelmed and tired. So will see my new friends tomorrow. I better get to bed early!

Hi ladies, just got back from Wegman's. Bought way too much, but we are having thanksgiving here so shopped for all those goodies - nuts, candy, cheeses, veggies, potatoes and the turkey.

I really had a great time at lunch today. I think it's the first time I have been able to speak about my cancer with others who have been through the same and much more. My friends are great and ask from time to time how everything is going and how I feel, but I don't tell them a lot of details.

You are all so kind and fun to be with. Thank you all for the welcome, the great company and the gifts. Can't wait to do it again!

    Hugs, Jan

    Hello everyone,

    Had a lovely time yesterday.

Jan- it was wonderful to meet you. We're so close by each other.  Send me a PM if you ever want to go for a walk on the walking path, get some excercise or grab lunch.

Susan- Its a grueling schedule with school and home life. You'll be so proud of yourself when you're done and obviously lots of options for future jobs. Thank you for the yummy candy- I ate one on the way home and shared the rest. -

Heymoose - thank you so much for lunch. Very thoughtful and kind of you and certainly NOT necessary.  Good luck on the slots today!!

Maureen- if they don't call you to schedule the MRI by Monday end of day, I'd follow-up with them. Not sure about you but for the brain MRI, I needed an ativan to keep calm in the tube. It helped immensly.

Betty- great to see you and I hope you didnt spend too many pennies in Hamburg!!

TTYL hope everyone has a Happy Sunday

     Hugs to all,

    Bevin

Hi All,   Had so much fun yesterday.  Good friends, good food, what more do you need? It was great meeting Jan, such a sweet heart.  Only thing missing was Karen Embarassed and Ester.  Hope heymoose and kindone did well during the side trip and came out on the positive side.

This Bills stink so bad, my DH WENT GROCERY SHOPPING!!!  oh boy what an awful game.  Hope Karen isn't watching or she'll get sicker.

Susan: Thank you for the candy/cookies, didn't make it home.  One made it to my sister's house right after lunch and then it was history. They were wonderful.

Heymoose, very kind and generous of you to treat for lunch.  Hope the casino paid you back two fold.

Bevin, it was great seeing you again. Can you PM me the spa you have the gift certificate for?  I'll see if they offer any group discounts and try to get the prices.  I'll call Capellos as well and post info.

So I did something dumb last Thanksgiving and would LOVE to get out of the commitment.  My cookie exchange friends all made extra cookies for me last year so I told them I'd make cut-out cookies this year,  What was I thinking??  I made so many cookies with DD last year, now stuck with this commitment, can I blame chemo LOL??

    Have a great evening.

    Love,
    Maureen

Hi all, so glad everyone had a good time yesterday, wish I could have been with you.  I'm going to the Dr's. tomorrow, enough is enough.  If I felt better, I'd go grocery shopping with your husband, Maureen.  I wonder how Seaside's husband is doing, he takes the Bill's game very seriously too.  I think I'll watch a different game, this is pathetic, I can hear the Miami fans from here cheering, can only imagine that they scored again.  Maybe a nap is in order.  hugs to all, Karen

Not a good game!! And to make matters worse my SIL is a Dolphins fan..... I kept waiting for the 'rub it in' phone call but, it didn't come!!! Must be she thought better of it! Smart girl!

    Maureen,

I have a tendancy to, in a moment of holiday spirit gone wild, commit to things that my normal, sane self would run from....lol

Last year it was making and decorating gingerbread men!! Surprised I didn't commit to a whole darn gingerbread village for them to live in as well...lol They came out good but, holy cow, what a lot of work!! Is it possible to buy the plain, unfrosted sugar cookies and then just decorate them?

    Karen,

Yes... You have been sick long enough!! I would definitely tell your doc that it's been so long! In my experience, if it's been longer than two weeks and you still don't feel like you're coming around, they will usually give you something!

Seems like so many are sick on a lot of the threads and also people that I know personally... Hope this isn't a sign of things to come over the winter!!

    Take care and get well!!

Uh oh Maureen playing with the computer at work, gotcha!  Just got back from the Dr.'s. sinus infection, he gave me a 1 wk. course of antibiotics with 1 refill in case it doesn't knock it out.  Can't wait to feel well.  Any plans for Dec. luncheon? in case we get lucky with the weather?  Susan, how did the presentation go?  Esther's is tomorrow, please send thoughts and prayers her way.  hugs, Karen.

Finally, All three presentations are now behind me...what a relief!  Plus, I did well today, which makes it even better.  Thank you for such a great lunch on Saturday, Ladies, and thank you to Cheryl for treating us and for the beautiful bracelet and Maureen for the Christmas candles.  I feel spoiled every time we go out!  So wonderful to meet you, Jan, and so happy you are part of our fun group.  Karen--I was so sorry when I heard you weren't coming, but wish that you get well very soon--those antibiotics should knock it right out.  I had the same thing last November.  Esther---missed you too! hope you are doing well and school is almost done for you as well. Betty-so great to see you.  We never talked about your dog.  How is he doing?  He seems sooo cute!  We have been trying to decide on a dog (we just have a cat now).  I think we will be trying greyhound adoption forst, but if the cat doesn't like the dog (they bring over a test dog), then I think we will just go for a golden retriever puppy (or something similar).  Bevin, so great sharing stories with you.  We DO have a lot in common!  One of these days, I am going to take you up on that walk if the weather holds out, or maybe some coffee?  Karen---we are talking about doing a group massage for our next meeting.would you be interested?

Take care everyone!  Happy Turkey Day Tongue out
