Dear bevin, last Sat. of the month, so glad you are all driving down here, it is just so good of you, thank you Maureen for suggesting it. It is a very nice restaurant called Alex's Place and they have a roundtable so we all get to talk at once. So hope you can make it bevin, we will all be together and in a talky mood. Stay cool. I'm not going outside anymore today. Had to get DH antibiotics cause he needed to have 2 teeth pulled. Ouch, he's cranky, so I'm cleaning the upstairs top to bottom. right now my outside thermometer is reading 103.6, but this time of day it's in the sun. Just think, in 3-4 mo. we can complain about shoveling snow and being cold. Today I wish I was cold. Or win the lottery so someone can pay my electric and water bill LOL.

OK so last Sat of the month will be august 25.....I'm in. It's been too long since I've seen you all.
Speaking of the heat...my MIL took my husbands 81 year old aunt to walk on the bike path yesterday in 94 degree weather. Aunt was passing out and another walker called 911. Oh boy, never a dull moment around here this summer. This was supposed to be the "summer of Jan" but I guess I'll have to wait for the fall. Maureen, I'm with you....staying inside the rest of the day.0 -
Dear Jan, MIL is still with you?, doesn't sound like this is the way a retiree should spend the first free summer after a tough year!!! The fall will be better - has to be, no 911 calls I hope in the foreseeable future I hope. I was indoors from, 4 on, it was unbearable outside. The 25th sounds good. yesterday at 5pm, the news reported the temp was currently 103. So maureen, not sure your thermometer was off.

Oh Jan. Sorry aunt and mil are struggling. I'll bet mil feels so bad right now poor thing probably wanted to just help. Hope everyone is recovering today. Think a new rule in your house should be no outside if temp is greater than their age.
Bevin glad you swam in the pool. Sounds like everyone is on the upswing lets keep that way ok?

Hi all, regaining my strength little by little - sometimes it is hard to be patient. Cannot believe how a systemic infection can weaken you so. Trip to Walmart tomorrow with DD, it will be my longest outing so far, I expect I'll need a nap after it. Sophie is always ready for a nap, all I have to say is ready for nite, nite and she heads for the the bed, have had to water spray her for going after the O2 tubing, Emma is sleeping near me with the cord over her big belly, nothing but food seems to phase her. Tomorrow will be taking my handy new small tank strp O2 container, it is a lot lighter and easier to manage. The yeast infection is gone finally now only have to get my endurance back. An we finally have a date for luncheon, Yahoo, gonna see my friends. love to all, Karen Cheryl how is your plantar faceitis doing, hope you are better and yeah for bevin, swimming!!

Hello to All you lovely ladies!!
I feel so bad that I have not been online lately. We have had no phone, internet or cable since we moved, so tonight I decided to head to Spot coffee to use their WiFi. My son has been sick with Coxsackie virus (and i think me too) so have been taking care of him. So glad that Karen is home, Bevin is swimming, and everyone else is doing well. Cheryl-hope your foot is feeling better. My husband has that and he can't run anymore. Hope everyhting continues to go well. I would love to go on the 25th but will have to check calendar when I get home. After Wednesday, I will be back online again. Hope to see you all soon!!

p.s. we absolutley love our new house!! the new neighbors are amazing (they gave Tristan a party last week so he could meet all the kids in the neighborhood-all 40 of them!!) things are going just fine here....

Missing you too Susan, sounds like the new neighborhood is full of friends for Tristan, how nice of your neighbor to through him a party, very thoughtful. Hoping you are free for the luncheon so we are all together. Betty hope that day works for you, missing you also, hope vacation was wonderful. I am getting a little stronger each day, except for my endurance and my Knees, that Arimidex is a real joint killer, but I'd rather the pain than a recurrence. I know my MO wants me to switch to aromasin and I may take him up on it this time. hugs to all, Karen

Hi, how is everyone? Just stopping in quick to say hi. Niece's wedding tomorrow and day after barbecue on Saturday. Gonna be too much family time. MIL departure date has changed from 8/22 to 8/15. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Hi Jan, you managed to move up the departure date, Hooray for you, or was just good karma. Getting better each day, though it is still too slow for me. Saw the PCP today, she emphasized that I had been "very, very sick" and I'll get better in baby steps. Like you I cannot wait too see everyone, I may even do the casino tour this time!, love Karen

Hello All!
I had my exchange surgery on Wednesday and am feeling pretty sore. I had them remove my port as well... We are suppose to go away for 10 days next Thursday - It's our annual summer vacation and we are sooo looking forward to it. If you are looking at meeting on the 25th - We will still be away. I'll do my best to make the next dinner/lunch date!! It's been forever since the last time I met everyone.
I hope that everyone's summer's have been good.

Not sure how that happened because I sent you IM's before? Anyway, I really hope you can join us. I hope the surgery went well and you've been de-ported YYAY!!! Another reason to celebrate, Bev's cast is off, Karen on the mend, you deported, me out of my funk, Cheryl foot on the mend, Jan survived the summer. I wonder if restaurant will have enough chocolate martini's for all these toasts? I'll have to look up how many points a martini is on Weight Watchers...then again....maybe I don't want to know

HI all, sorry i have been out of touch. Lot's of stuff going on right now. Happy to hear everyone is doing well. Lunch sounds good and I will be there to see everyone. Boy, have I missed you all. Maureen, casino time sounds great, you know I love the slots!!!!!!!!!!! I hope all will want to do some slot time. I need the practice for my trip to Vegas. LOL!
Foot is still sore at times and I am sick of wearing sneakers!!!!!! My SD picked up her wedding dress this week and it is beautiful.

We went to the casino for my gift from DH. Won 140.00! Of course I didn't walk away until I spent that too
When will I learn to win and walk. Oh well a donation and nice night out and dinner. Great gift, DH is a sweetheart. DS is at Darien for some concert and I'm sure he's getting wet. We need the rain, grass is brown and poor birds don't know what to do. Got some additional hummingbird feed too. I love watching the hummingbirds drink from the feeder. Added another bird feeder by the pine trees to attract some cardinals, my favorite bird. My mom was convinced my dad came back as a cardinal in the afterlife.

Wow great new fun times. Dh is taking me to the races Friday night then lunch with wonderful friends. Cant wait to see everyone I miss you all so very much
Had fun today on birthday. Certainly better than two years ago when diagnosis heard on the phone. Dh gave me the most beautiful card and took me out to dinner on the weekend.

Dear Maureen, Happy Birthday, you sound so good and it is indeed a better time than 2 years ago. I heard the news over the phone also, but I didn't have to go to a surpise birthday party right after. I have always admired your strength in being able to do that. We are all going to be together with the exception of Kelly, who is going on a wonderful vacation. I really appreciate your coming here thank you for suggesting it. I am hoping to be much better by that Saturday. My cousin is coming from Tennessee tomorrow to stay with me for a week, have not seen her in two years, she usually comes up two times a year, but was having trouble with shoulder pain so severe she could not reach behind her, had to go to PT for 10 weeks, all from the Arimidex, she took it for 10 years, has just gone off it, but the limitation of her range of motion remained. Wonderful drugs we have to take. Can't wait to see everyone, it feels like it's has been such a long, long time, hugs to all, Karen

Hi Everyone!!
Busy for different reasons. Son was sick almost 2 weeks with hand, foot, and mouth. Then, my mom caught it and is still sick. I caught a mild case of it and now have shingles again
. Hubby was on vacation last week so as soon as my son was better, we lived it up!! Still planning on going to lunch, barring any unforeseen illnesses. Glad to be seeing you all again!! Maureen-I put in a hummingbird feeder. Saw a hummingbird on it the first day, but haven't seen any since. Maybe they don'tlike the nectar. I guess I'll have to dump it out and start again. How often are we supposed to change it? Take care and see you soon!!Susan
