During the depression(as we are in now) it was the gardens and small animals that kept people from starving. It was a blessing to be living on a farm ---except for the dust bowl region.

I should have alerted Low,and Meece, and JV. I think she was a spy. I told her what our routine was etc. Only cluckers would understand it. I figuired we were safe. Puff puff pass

Thanks to all of you..it's so good to have "graduated" from this phase of treatment. Although this is day 4 post last round of chemo and I feel miserable...as expected...counting down the days to "normal" !!!! And hair!!!!

Emily: I was so relieved after my last chemo--getting back my brain and my taste buds and my hair was such a big deal. There is a great Hair, Hair, Hair thread on here that got me through my regrowth. Congratulations again--Wahoooooo Bagawk!!!

Don't get me started on the stupid candle email!

Now wouldn't that be something we could get another specialist - a digital oncologist - the one who photoshops us to health.

The email dodo is why I basically don't do email anymore. I clean it out every 2-3 weeks. Since I have spent two years not answering those emails , very few come anymore.

so here's something stupid some people have said to me lately.
and granted it is not mean in any way, or meant ill harm, but i wish sometimes people would think about what get spewed out of their mouth before they say it!
when asked how i am feeling, lately i have been tired, from rads so i tell the person asking " i'm tired, taking a nap in the middle of the day"
the response i get is " oh wow! lucky you, get to sleep when you want!" or the dreaded " yeah, i'm tired too.. i could use all the sleep you seem to be getting!"
radiation and chemo fatigue is not a simple "tired" it's poison and radiation killing off the cells in your body! the body is going through so much stress!!! i just want to tell these people "yeah, i know your tired and all from working all day, but my body is working 24/7 to kill off cancer. wanna switch?"
lol....

Angel-----use some lamaze breathing. and go into the zone when these people do this . There's no point in trying to explain.Until they would actually go through themselves they won't get it.
There's 3 patterns in lamaze. I suggest the first one which is a deep slow breath in and releasing long slow breath out. Thinking of relaxing. And ignoring them. ......... Well then there is the alternative you could cluckem.

I ofteb say, 'do you want the trite/ polite/ conventional answer or the truth?'. And its quite funny the replies you get. You know it's someone who understands who says 'tell my the truth'.
If you give me a puff I might just keep it awhile as its not a great day pain wise.
Cluck cluck I had better pass it on.

I wonder if we need to change our terminology when someone asks us how we are? It can be so frustrating to have someone "envy" us our need to sleep when all we want to do is function normally and not feel so darn drained. Perhaps instead of saying we are tired and need to nap we should be saying " the fatigue is really debilitating and frustrating while undergoing the chemo/radiation" Do you think we'd get a more understanding response? Just a thought....
I hate when someone tells me I look good when I feel so clucking awful after chemo..drives me nuts. Haven't thought of a good answer for that one yet.

your'e damned no matter what you say, if you just say you are fine to avoid the conversation, then people think "oh, BC must not be too bad if she's feeling so good". My step MIL, who I have mentioned before on here as being a total PITA, came to my house the Sunday after Easter for our Easter Dinner with my DH's side of the family. She was asked to bring a veggie tray, we made all the food for the main meal...I was 2 wks into rads at this point and feeling it. She walked in and the first thing out of her mouth when I asked her how she was, was "TIRED! I have done so much this morning already"...oh BOO HOO! I've cooked an entire meal for 20 and you are going to bitch because you had to get up to take cookies to church?!? She's only in her 50's, it's not like she's old and decrepit! She goes and lifts weights at the gym for goodness sake! Sorry for the rant...I really get going when I think of her...
