    Hootie Hoo Patty!

WildT, what a kind surgeon you have. I may need to borrow him in the future. As for now, I try not to focus too much on the indentation. Hope you are not too uncomfortable. Are the kids on spring break?

JunieB, let us know how the follow up on the sleep study goes. Did Kirby eat for you with the switch back to Nature balance?

Ms. Sas, thank you for the updates on Shepk. I have been wanting to call her, but hesitate because I know she needs her rest. I miss that Stinker. Renovation is fun at the beginning and end, but can be stressful in between. How is your ankle? Sweet story about Donnie and Dini. Should Donnie keep an eye on you during this renovation?

Lori, how is your skin? Love your humor.

Susan, more pics of Elena please. Does she still flap her arms like a bird? Yay to being stable!!!

Lita, good looking boss. Nice to have good genes. Hope the radiation will take care of your pain and zap those buggars to oblivion.

    Hi Jwoo!

Jazzy, any upcoming trips? Is Cuba still on your bucket list?

Kath, hope you are hanging in there.

MammaRay sends her love. She thinks about you all often but she is not ready to be back here. Not fair that she is so young and struggling so much.

Hello to my fellow Californians and good morning to Feline. BBL if sleep fairy doesn't come too early.

Loverly- I may be doing a trip with a group here in town to Ireland this fall, but not sure yet. Getting some new work going......

Playing hide and seek with my Sleep Fairy.

Jazzy, that sounds like fun. I would love to visit Ireland one of these days. Yay to new work! Cha ching $$

Busy last few days. Took DH to SF International airport on Thursday evening. That was when we had the storm with side-way rain. It was a challenge to drive in the dark with heavy rain and what seemed like 50 mile wind. On our way to the airport we saw two accidents. One was really bad with several cars involved. Two cars were upside down. Not a good feeling when you witness such thing. The other accident was on the Bay Bridge in San Francisco. A semi was on its side. Luckily it was just the truck. We were stuck on the bridge for nearly an hour! Bumper to bumper traffic jam. The whole time I was worried that this partially suspension bridge would collapse with so many cars and big rigs stuck on it. My SUV is about 6000 lbs and I could still feel the strong wind rocking it. Good thing we left early, otherwise DH would miss his flight.

More driving over the weekend to Southern California with my sister, DD2, niece and nephews for Disneyland. It was fun, but tiring. The smiles on the kids' face was worth it.

They all talked me into riding Splash Mountain. I think I screamed the loudest.

I was bribed into wearing this ridiculous shirt. The sleeves needed to be sewn together! I don't know who came up with this crazy style.

My MO Kicked me out of the nest yesterday! I'll go back for Tamoxifen script in 6 weeks as my skin needs to heal before starting my 10 years of the wonder stuff.

Wonderful pictures! Lots of prayers, hugs and love to Shep and MammaRay!

Lover, look at all those beautiful ladies!

Susan, oh what beautiful eyes she has!

Jazzy, Ireland is on my bucket list! What fun that would be!

I'm off to get blood work done, I'll be back to catch up with everyone later.

Hi, Loverly and Lita great pics. Susan Elana looks beautiful.

Susan YAY 2 years, I remember when you switched to that chemo. It was after that chemo that wrecked havoc on your lungs. Seems like centuries ago. :)

Loverly, yes renovation decisions suck. I have to remove 2 doors COMPLETELY to get the walki-in tub in. A third door which goes to the closet is a substandard width. To make it walker and wheelchair accessible it has to be removed too. I had this vision of a glass door with etching. Then the proverbial flash. That closet is the only thing that comes close to a SAFE room. Now must rethink it. Hurricane type door. UGH. Ankles good. Learned some lessons as usual

Junie sorry Kirby has to go for so long.

Off to Cardiologist and of course have left enough time to thrift.

    HELLOO everyone.

Whoa Nelly, 7 hours and no one posted. Okay I'm here. Opened a bottle of wine. Back from cardiologist. Talked him into a referral to a Cardiac electrical guy. He has a fancy name. I forget it. How's about electrophysiologist. Specializes in pacers and defibrillators. I have been one step away from a pacer for years per his words for years. Once I read this guys credentials, I said he's the one I want. Besides cancer, lot's of heart conduction problems in the family.

I'm going to get this guy to preplan for a pacer b/c with the cancer hx, if I get another cancer, I will demand a port. The preplan will have this guy plan pacer placement with consideration for a port placement. My cardiologist tried (weakly) to resist. But with the foobs in place that are very movable in the chest wall, everything could get very crowded. He or I never heard of anyone preplanning for this type of thing. He was funny, I laid out the story and then said "Do I have to keep talking". He just smiled and started typing the referral.

MammaRay, L&H&P's Let His warmth wrap around you. This all so sucks. One step at a time. All sounds like just talk , but He is true, and one moment at a time does work. If that moment is tough, just believe. Forget trying to understand it.

Loverly, side ways rain. Pretty damn strong. Gale wind, tropical storm, Tornado strength. Remember Twister? Did you see cows? Side ways and hail>>tornado.

Mags called you. Loverly no answer either. Junie, your am

Wenchie, I can't find your phone number.

    Ah--loverly called

Okay long talk with Loverly and then along talk with Mags.... so nice. Now eating Hershey's chocolate. Not just b/c it's around Easter. Dear Donnie buys me Hershey's bars. I eat them sparingly. Usually. But I don't think tonight.

Oh yeah, thrifted a very big flat tray with rim and a spiderman

Godinger tray 14x 11, payed to much 15$, but nice gift for someone coming into town. Godinger is current. Very heavy with the glass and lead(sparkley) short on finesse. This however can be a very useful tray. Whether or not they want to take it back to England will be up to them. Also, found a Spider-Man Marvel 2012, 3$---value essentially same. But nephew won't care. Yay. It talks. and he can play with it without worry of collectible status. Looks like the market was flooded and it's not in mint condition and not in box.

    sas-schatzi Member Posts: 15,894

Talked and talked then had to find the tray...........I suspected Godinger or Shannon...............then would have gone to mikasa or lenox. But Godinger was a hit right away. ........Godinger is useful. Blocky. High lead content so sparkly. EBAY it was 35$. Not identified on replacements.com. Maybe higher. Bought it b/c it is very utilitarian and pretty. But utilitarian first.

    You there?

Hmm I think Shannon is Godinger.............oh well. It's nice and workable for lot's of things

Mags, How did it go with oral surgeon?

Lita, Nice you could have lunch with ex co workers.

Junie, How did the sleep study go?

Susan, YAY!!! (to stable cancer). Sweet picture. :)

Loverly, You look great. I hope Disneyland was fun. Yes, my kids are on spring break this week. Boring for them, with me recovering, but I wanted to minimize time away from work.

Lori, I'm hoping for good blood results for you.

Sassy, any more updates on Shep?

I'm still kind of hazy, but less pain today. Love and hugs to all.

There was NO WAY I could walk around the store today after last Sunday's new adventure in metastatic pain coursing thru my right thigh and lower spine. Well, the pain was even worse today after only my 2nd Rx treatment. RO said pain might get worse this time around b4 it gets better. (I had 10 rads sessions to upper thoracic spine a year ago, and it wasn't this bad...oh well.)

Eight more to go...at least I get a break for 2 days.

Hope everyone enjoys a quiet, contemplative Good Friday. Sunny but windy here today. And gees, it was FREEZING in Safeway this morning. I should have worn longer pants rather than Capri's.

Lita- I am sorry for your pain. It looks like you found some lovely flowers today?

  • Lita57
    Lita57 Member Posts: 2,338

Jazzy, I bought the flowers for my dinner table on Easter Sunday. The stores will be packed tomorrow, so I wanted to make sure I got a decent leg of lamb b4 they ran out.

Like I said on another thread, we can't let cancer rob us of our mobility. We just have to heave another sigh, find a way to adapt, and keep on moving. Yeah, I'm smiling in the pic, but on the inside still VERY ANGRY at Mr. Cancer.

Now it's off to stuff plastic eggs with dark chocolate mini eggs and dollar bills. We used to stuff them with nickles, dimes and quarters, but the kids are in high school and college now, so "chump change" just doesn't cut it anymore. As Charlie Brown's little sister Sally says..."How about 10's and 20's?" So the two golden eggs will have larger denomination bills. DH will have to hide the eggs cuz I can't bend over anymore either.

Loverly- I have been going at the United jokes all week. Although what happened is certainly not funny. Airlines go out of business all the time. They may be next. In this age of quick phone pics, videos and social media, they are fools.

I rarely fly them, more reasons to never fly them again. Like Feeling said, nothing funny about what happened to that doctor.

    Good morning!

Sorry Ms. Sas. Went to take a shower after that post, then hit the sack. Keep forgetting about "beauty sleep". Ha!

WildT, originally I was not planning to go to Disneyland (cuz I am cheap and don't like crowded places). My Sister wanted to take the kids ( my DDs, nephews, and niece) as she doesn't get to see them often even though we all live within 10 miles radius. Kids nowadays are busy. There is no way I would let her drive 400 miles to LA by herself with the kids. So I volunteered to drive. Originally, I planned to drop them off at the Parkand go to a near by beach to relax, but the kids wanted me to come with them. It costs $124 to enter the Park! Beach is much cheaper and more relaxing, but it's not about me. Darn it! In the end, I am glad I joined them. The happy memory and their smiles were priceless.

Hope you are on a smooth road to recovery. Hopefully, this is paid leave for you. When are you due back to work? I am sorry to hear you can't do much with the kids on their break. Well, summer break is not too far ahead.

Lita, don't let Mr. Cancer, the thief, take that beautiful smile away from you.

Jazzy, "Mr. Cancer can go suck an eggs" 👍

Talked to Shep yesterday. It was good to hear her laughing and giggling. She has the cutest giggle. Still on antibiotics for another nine days. She is very happy to be home away from the "beyond terrible nursing staff" . She got more sleep yesterday. Hopefully, she will be better soon so she can come back to her mischief here.

Hi Feline and to all I missed!
