The Brewers won, of course! : ) They hit three home runs, two in a row. It was a lot of fun to watch.
So tomorrow I have my quarterly check with my MO. I don't think he can do much but run labs since I am covered in diapers until I get stitched back up on Wednesday. I am really looking forward to getting put back together!

Monica, OMG that first post-surgery shower is heaven! Enjoy!
Sending love and ((hugs)) to all.

Surgery went really well today! The PS agreed that things had opened up more on the right (my radiated side) and also on my left significantly. He sewed things back down really well with a different thread, not the dissolving stuff, but some very firm external stitches. It feels a lot better already, but maybe that's the pain meds talking. : )
Also, I had been talking with PS about the bloating and he said that that is not bloating, that is my body under that layer of fat that he removed. I debated back that I cannot wear any of my old clothes, even my pants from days when I was heavier - that I had lost quite a bit from surgery, but nothing fits. I showed him how my lower abdomen was slightly warm and red. He checked it out during surgery and was able to aspirate over 300 cc of fluid. It may be the pain meds talking again, but I don't feel any pain in my abdomen or pelvic floor now! He said we will remove more at next week's appointment when I will be in a better position for it. At the time I was in surgery, so he was forced to work with my laying down. Something about sitting up is supposed to be better - I believe he said.
So, I anticipate a couple days of pain meds and then back to getting functional. I get to shower in 48 hours again!! (I had to stop when everything opened up.) I am really excited about today's progress!

hi fuzzy, jump on in, the water's fine!
attawoman J-Bug, here's to successful surgery and pain meds.
We had thunderstorms earlier; I have the front door open and it smells great.
Hope everyone is having a pleasant evening. ((hugs)) to all

Well thanks Badger! We've chatted before but ... I was just wondering to myself why I haven't had a Wisconsin get together or something and BAM...this thread appeared...so, I'm jumpng in! I have to hold my nose and don't swim very well....
I was watching that thunderstorm too. Didn't last very long but it was pretty!

Cannonball!!
We were talking about a Madison-area get-together but it's hard to find a time that works for everyone. I work in Mad-town but live elsewhere, in the beautiful Driftless Region.

Oh dang...I BELLY FLOPPED!
I'm just SE of Madison...have my treatment team at the UW but my surgical team is in Milwaukee.
I'd looooooove a get together!! I'm basically free most of the time! Let's do it!

Hi fuzzy! That was a fun storm. We will have try to get together. I am still recovering from another surgery. Bit everyone chime in with three dates that might work for you and also the time. Like Friday nite or something. Then maybe we will have a chance of it happening.

Friday, Saturday or Sunday...LOL or any day that ends in DAY really...LOL sorry, that didn't help.
Is anyone against going somewhere to have a glass of wine? Maybe an appetizer?
0 -
I'm a carpool driver and people depend on me for a ride so it's hard for me to stay after work. However, I don't have any riders the next couple Fridays so my first two choices are Fri Sep 21 and Fri Sep 28, after work.
A glass of wine would be OK but it's a long drive home so no more than one. So make it a really good glass of wine, right! I'd also drive in on Sat the 29th or Sun the 30th. Sunday brunch would be nice, too...

Any places in mind?

Sept. 28 I could do!

Badger & Fuzzy - Are we talking about getting together in Madison? There are several places on the Square and/or State Street. I would be available Sept 28. Gina

I could do Sept 28

Hey all, Sep 28th sounds good - let's do it! State Street or the Square works for me.
I haven't been out in Madison except for lunches so would welcome ideas. I'm partial to Brocach Irish Pub but that's not really a wine & appetizer kind of spot. More like beer and hearty stew.

I'm in! There's a Badger Bar that looks pretty Awesome....never been there though.

I haven't been there either, fuzzy. Is it downtown? BTW I get off work at 4.

Its right on State Street on Bascom Hill side. Might be crazy with college kids on a Friday night though. Anything on State Street will be....

I can do some asking around tomorrow and Gina should have some good ideas as well.

Great! This is really special. I can't wait to meet ya.

I can't make it - but I hope all of you raise a drink for me. J-Bug - how are you doing? Getting better? And Monica, that first shower is the best......

me too, I'm psyched! Will definitely raise a glass to absent friends!

I am open to Fitchburg, or west Madison doesn't have to be right downtown. Parking might be really bad too. Also doesn't have to be fancy. Or could be fancier, ill stop by my son and he could always drop me off if that works better. I just can't walk fast or far. I have a handicap placard though. Name some suggested places. Ee are making progress! LOL

Badg - Brocach is good. If we are on the Square, there is The Old Fashioned (WI beer, wine, food), there is Coopers Tavern (huge beer selection, small place, can be noisy). Right off the Square is Francesca's (italian), The Deluxe (new Food Fight restaurant with gourmet burgers - where Ocean Grill used to be), The Tipsy Cow, The Argus. There is a new Mexican restaurant in the first block of State Street, I haven't been there. The old tried and true right off of State is the Plaza. Or Westside works, too. None of the downtown/State St places are even remotely fancy, which suits me, too. There is always the Great Dane, either downtown or at Hilldale (near Westside).
I'll go anywhere. Gina

Well...I can do the West Side too! I wouldn't mind a cozy, not so fancy place...a relaxed atmosphere.
Here's a though....The Collosium (spelling?) On John Nolen? I've Never been there....overlooks the lake?0 -
I'm up for most anywhere, too. Parking downtown can be a challenge. I've been to the Great Dane downtown and like it very much, but would happily try the Hilldale location if that's easier for people to get to. http://www.greatdanepub.com/
I haven't been to the Coliseum Bar but know where it is. http://www.coliseumbarmadison.com/
I googled wine bars in madison wi and came up with Eno Vino, it's on the West side. Anyone been there? Looks fancy though, yummy happy hour menu but pricey. http://www.eno-vino.com/modules/web/index.php/id/1
Got out for a good long walk this afternoon, nice fall day after the rain went through.

hi ladies, hope this isn't getting too complicated. Gina & I both work downtown so of course that's the most convenient for us. Monica, if parking downtown is a problem, maybe your son could drop you off at our meeting place and I could drive you back to his place. I rent a spot downtown so my car is nearby. Just want to put that out there as an option. But I'm up for anywhere!
Pretty day today. Got out for a nice walk in the afternoon sun. Now making beef soup mmmm.
Frost advisory for tonight. Everyone got their plants covered? ((hugs)) to all

Nope... I didn't cover, but then again, I am by the coast. It was a lovely day here - and I got to see a Coast Guard helicopter go out over Lake Michigan for the President Obama visit. We missed Air Force One - it must have slipped in from the south.
