Yay , gina, for a day to snuggled up close at home! Stay warm! Fuzzy, of course puppy chose you to snuggle with, not a dumb animal, LOL make friends with mommy, food for life.... LOL
All right, here's the answer, I don't know if I am happy, or depressed. I am choice #3. NOT EXPECTED TO IMPROVE..... perhaps there was more in those doctor records then I knew....... LOL!
Well, actually grateful for not having to do all the paperwork again. And, if my docs won't operate on my knees, i will certainly NOT get better. And it must be my knees not the cancer related stuff, because all that you would expect to improve. so, a small amount of money for me so I don't have to beg my DH for money for a purse or to go out for a lunch. Good enough. Now, I could maybe volunteer at the Y, for a couple if hours a week, and maybe get a percentage off! My plan for the next couple months.....that and making a bit of jewelry.
Much love to all and TRY TO STAY WARM!0 -
Moon...I think you WON! Whoever looked at your reports and said she needs a break is a wonderful person. You immediately made plans and are moving forward!! Good for you sweetie. And...I'm hoping I can see some of that jewelry when we get together next!!
Ok...I need a little advice...I see my PS tomorrow and I hope he gives me a plan to fix this aweful mess I have on my left...I'd like to get back into the workforce but I feel like I need to wait until the surgeries are done and/or I'm off pain medication...what would you guys do in this situation?
Is this the last day for this brutal cold weather? Where's that groundhog at?? LOL...I think I'm a little early on that one...

Fuzz, I think you need to wait til you are off pain pills. Unless you are on something like tramadol, I don't think you can concentrate enough. Or maybe that's just me.

I think you're right...I can't really drive with these meds so I would have to go without them if I was working...
Goodnight Wisconsin Ladies!! XOXOXOXOX

Hey Fuzzy, how was the Dr appt? Any hope of revision w/ this doctor? I don't think going w/o pain meds, if you need them, is a good course. Give yourself time to heal properly. Your health has to come first or the rest of your life will suffer.
Stay warm everyone, this deep freeze can't last forever!

hey ladies, haven't been here for a few days and I've missed a lot!
Gina, happy anniversary! #25 is a milestone. RU getting some silver from DH?
Monica, I was hoping you'd say #3. Although it may not feel the best, it eliminates a bunch of BS paperwork and uncomplicates your life. BTW, love your new avatar pic!
Fuzzy, how'd it go today? I'm with the group, if you can, it's best to take the time to heal. I took off two weeks after BMX w/o recon and needed all those days to recuperate. And you're right, you can't drive while on pain meds. The last thing you need is an OMVI ticket!
L&H&P's to all

Hello sunshines! Thanks for the opinions...I've got serious cabin fever and just want to be normal again. Ya know?
Got home from PS a bit ago. Not horrible news but not great. Doc thinks I may have the pain....permanently. crap. Told me we can get closer to symmetry but there's a lot of damage....and, we're talking many months/years down the road. Crap.
The lump I thought I had under my right armpit seems to be Nothing. That was refreshing.
Driving home tonight was terrible! The wind and the light snow turned into terrible visibility! But...my little car handled the road really well.
So, I know we talked about a get together in January but with the weather the way it is...should we look at February or March?0 -
hey fuzzy, glad to hear lump was nothing but crap to all that rehab and pain.
I effing hate the new normal. I liked my old normal.
Maybe you could consider a work-at-home situation. You have many skills.
Got a temp agency nearby?

Badger...you are just so dang sweet. I'm wondering if I can continue with my coaching practice. I started my own business last year but didn't really do much with it...just a few clients. Once I figure that out, I'll either move forward with that or. ..ya know, I'm interested in so many things! LOL Helping people is my #1 though. We'll see what happens. There's a plan for me...im sure of That! LOL

((fuzzy)) be your own life coach. Acknowledge it's hard to be objective when it's so subjective but you are your own best client right now. Get through this sh*t then maybe write a book about it and become rich & famous. And help other people in the same boat. ((hugs))

LOL....ya know, that's the weirdest part....its really difficult to coach myself! LOL but, when I'm helping people (my girls, DH, friends, sisters) I feel Good.
Did I ever tell you the name of the book I started? For real! Its titled:
WHAT TO DO WITH PURPOSE WHEN ITS SHOVED UP YOUR A$$
Shoot...I'd buy it just for the title! LOL0 -
LOL! Take this Purpose and shove it...
Ever hear of BOHICA?
Bend Over Here It Comes Again.

Cc, you win! Your prize is you get to ask the next riddle! How's that! LOL
Badger good to hear from you again. And, you are right, st least the paperwork will be less. Also now that I am official disabled, there are incentives for places to hire me, and if I try to work and it doesn't work out, there is no waiting period, u can get right back on. However, I will heal more before thinking about it.
Fuzz, THAT SUCKS!!!!!!!! WHAT THE H*LL IS THAT? Guess you are going to try for biofeedback? Can't hurt, and insurance might spring for it.
Damn, I'm with Badger, I liked my old normal. This new normal sucks monkey balls......0 -
Yes...new normal sucks monkey balls.
LOL0 -
Hi WI gals,
Fuzz - Sorry to hear that the news from your PS wasn't the best case scenario. No one wants permanent pain. And I agree with the others, best to get yourself healthier before you re-join the work force. I like your coaching idea/plan.
Badg - Thanks! No silver but we are going skiing in early Feb. As if it's not cold enough in MT, we're going North to British Columbia to try a new mountain.
Moon- Happy/Sad for your disability news but it sounds like your creative side will flourish with your jewelry making.
Agree~~ the new normal sucks green donkey d*cks! Stay warm, Gina

Ok, gotta vent here too. I am in the infusion room getting magnesium iv. WTF? 5 months post herceptin. I've been getting mag supplements, mo tried to wean me off, got back on cause was low, still low three weeks now, so iv. Weird feeling being back in a chair.
0 -
Monica, I pass by the infusion room every six months when I see my onc for follow-up. No one is usually there as I go late afternoons and they're all done by then but it still makes me shiver.
They call the group infusion room the "party room" a misnomer if ever there was one. That's to differentiate it from the individual infusion rooms where they put first-timers and people needing extra supervision.
What are your symptoms of low magnesium? I'm curious because I heard mag supplements can help with foot & leg cramps.
0 -
Badger, party room? LOL, well sometimes it is fun.
As for symptoms, except for feeling more tired, not much. I hurt from arthritis so much normally, I can't tell if its from that or something else. I do know what happens when I take more than 4 mag pills though! Um, let's just say FLUSH! LOL0 -
I called the chemo rooms the Gold Lounge. I just learned that I always had my own room and apparently may have needed supervision....nothings changed! LOL
So, what would be the best tests to ask for to check levels on us gals? Thyroid? Magnesium? A variety of vitamins? Pregnancy? HEE HEE just kidding but it seems like they always test me for that one....0 -
Hmm, Fuzz, they never asked ME for a PG test..... LOL perhaps because iwas already postmemopausal by three years.
But I think yhey should check, vitamen D, magnesium and potassium, especially if you have diarrhea as a.problem .0 -
I forgot about Potassium! Thanks Moon!
0 -
hey ladies, they never mention a pg test anymore either LOL, but My Chart still reminds me I'm due for a mammo. ummm I got no mammies to gram! That would one freaked out rad tech, don't ya think?
0 -
OMG!!! FUNNY!! You ought to just go in and see what they say!!! WAHAHAAA!! Better bring a card game or somethin'
0 -
If it was me, I'd say something (to myself) like: damn doctors what were they thinking with this referral grumble grumble WTH am I supposed to put between the effing plates? grumble grumble
0 -
ROFLMAO! Oh man, can you imagine just showing up and then handing them a foobie and saying " um not sure what you're looking for....." LOL
0 -
LOL Monica, I decided against prosthetics so I got no foobs. My mom tried to give me hers but tho they were an expensive set, that was just too creepy & weird so I said thanks but no thanks.
At the airport, I opt for a manual pat-down instead of the scanner. I've had all the radiation I care to TYVM. I used to warn the agent about being flat but now I let her discover that all on her own.
Surprise!

Boy Badger, we both have a warped sense of humor! And we have to laugh when we can, LOL

WAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!
