The sad thing is I was close to my cousin at one point and now i can't stand her. I will take pay in bracelets, my hubby would probably kiss you, just so he doesn't have to buy me any bracelets! hahaha

Marian, I was 6 weeks give or take from surgery to rads. Do your finger walks up the wall daily and you'll be fine sending positive healing energy xo
Chrisrenee, is the 77 in your name your yr of birth? That would make you 36? Lol just curious, you don't have to answer. I'm 43 and I think Shari is younger then me. We can be friends ;-)
Believe!!! I just checked out your website. Beautiful!!! I have my eye on a few pieces. I know several ladies tat ave battled BC and won. Id really like to present them with one. We all belong to the same golf club lol and they have been great support for me. So, anyway my question is do you ship to Canada?
I just finished 15/25 rads and quite sore, RO says nothing to worry about, saline soaks and Tylenol. Keep it moisturized, and second stage will be October-December. With a final tweaking 4-6 months after that. But anyway, for the moment, any ideas on how to cope with the burning pain?
I know I missed a lot but I do think of you often.0 -
And someone has to walk me thru photo bucket.
I'm so tired auto correct is working overtime here lol
Good night lovely ladies!!0 -
Shianne29 - during my rads I got very uncomfortable and complained, important part...complain. I was given some silver solution by my assigned nurse. It worked great. Ask for some help. My nipple turned black, but only temporarily. Then it peeled. I wish I could remember the name of what I was given. It's a cream. Maybe some one on here has a better memory than I do. Don't be afraid to speak up. You are nearing the finish line!
When you are ready for Photo bucket instructions PM me. I will do my best to talk you through it, if you have an iPad or iPhone. Chrisrenee tried with her droid and didn't have any luck until she used her iPod. I will do my best to help you. It's a fun program.
Yes, the Angels can go to Canada. Mail delivery takes about 2 weeks. Thank you for the compliments. My Mother will be proud. I'm her helper.
I hope you are getting some rest!0 -
Shainne - I burned really bad during rads (very few women burn as bad as I did so don't worry) and had to even take a break for a few days in the middle and what really helped me the most was Aquaphor. They gave me some other cream, but it dried up really fast and had to be re-applied every hour to keep everything moist. I also has 35 treatments to my breast and also to my lymph nodes under my arm which was more than most women get. Another thing I did when I had to wear a bra while working was to take old tshirts and cut them into squares and put them under my breast and arm so there was no skin to skin contact which seemed to make it better. I wish you luck, but remember to just ask them everyday when you go until you get some relief. You will be done before you know it and feeling better. Gentle hugs coming your way!
I will be in you pocket today Believe! Let us know how you make out. Let the good news continue to come in for everyone!
Hugs to anyone else who needs them! Have a Great Day Everyone! Off to get ready for another busy day at work.0 -

Thanks believe and momof3. I will be sure to "pester" a little today
Chrisrenee , I'm a may baby too. The 14th we will have to celebrate lol
Juneau, nope not the angle, it's the girl. You're smoking hot!!!
Still snowing here :-( I'm soooo ready for spring!!!
My oldest DS comes home (maybe) this weekend. I miss him so much when he's gone. For now he will only be here a few days, unless he qualifies for a tournament today then he won't be home at all for Easter. I'm torn between hoping he makes it and that he doesn't lol
Off to shower and get ready for rad # 16
Hope everyone has a great first day of spring!!!0 -

Believe Love the exam=scary when I start to relate to so many of these funnies and cartoons-lol Was the cream you were given silver sulfadiazine? I didn't have rads but I had many open areas after an allergic reaction to everything after my DMX and I was also allergic to neosporin, bactrim etc so she prescribed that. SOOO soothing yet works miracles. The nicest thing is it comes in lots of sizes even a pretty big tub. Pharmacist told me that it's so inexpensive compared to other things and that it is often used to slather on burn victims to soothe, heal and prevent infection.

shiane- my bday is 05/21 so not too far from yours
Shari- I had a complete hysterectomy 3 yrs ago so when i was dx'd i was already menopausal. That's why femara was my ONLY option.

Juneau, that is a great pic and I have to agree, you're looking hot! Have a great trip.
It's 11:30 and I'm still in pjs. I have had a couple of long, busy days at the restaurant and now I'm off for today. Might not get dressed until late in the day. Meeting up with one of my Kindergarden friends who is here from Bermuda. Always great to see old friends. And though she has never had cancer, she is pretty good at 'getting it'.
To all you wonderful ladies, have a great day.

Remember ladies:
"Your age only tells you how long you have been on this earth, it doesn't define how old you are"
As for loose pants.... I am sitting here eating a lemon iced muffin, courtesy of our Premier who just visited the hospital to give us money for building a new tower. They had all kinds of goodies and I figured that my taxes had paid for them anyway.
Gotta run ladies... each day is getting busier. Jumping in any pockets, sending hugs to all xxxx

Hello Ladies,
So just put in for my preferences for my leg of the million dollar marathon. my three options as of right now, are Iowa close to Des Moines, or in or out of DC. and when i get those dates I will post them here.
Is any of you close enough to DC that would like to maybe come walk or run a few miles with me? I believe it is around July 19th... you can check out the route here
It would be totally awesome if it worked out and some of you could make it! I will get more details hopefully by next week. New York Gals I will also be at the end leg in Delware August 1st as of right now?
I will try and get some more details but how awesome of that if some of you are close enough by to come and let me give you a big ole hug!

Shianne, around rad 16/17 out of 25 I also started to get sore, and skin became angry red and itchy, especially one spot on my chest right above the breast where I had tanned before. What helped more than anything else was over-the-counter Hydrocortizone cream suggested by my RO. It calmed the itching and soothed the red skin, making it much more bearable. Saline soaks are also good. My skin never broke down, fortunately. Hope this helps.
Shari, your surgery is coming up fast now. After that you will be rid of the beast. You will still do rads then, I presume? That's the easy part, believe me. Also for me, chemo was worse than surgery. Never want to feel that miserable in my life ever again.
Juneau, I guess we see ourselves through different eyes than everybody else. Must say I feel much better about myself after the eyelid surgery - it worked for me! Six months later there are no visible scars, and I just look more awake and aware than before. Just make sure you have a good surgeon, which I'm sure you will.
Outdamnedspot, you're not alone. It's 10.30 here, and I'm also still in pj's. It snowed here last night, and I'm kind of slow this morning. Will have to spring into action soon. Have dinner guests tonight, and have to fit in a visit to the gym still.
Mcook, wish I was close enough to join in your race, but will follow your progress and be there in spirit.
Lostinmo, thanks for the flowers! They are beautiful!
Everybody have a great day!

mcook - Would love to come meet up; need to figure out the work thing/timing; but I think I could very well do it.

I don't know about rads yet.... Docs say if no nodes positve after chemo at time of surgery then no rads... However I am on the side of rads regardless bc I had positve node(nodes!) before chemo.. Granted they e doing full ALND so I do not really know...would like to do anything to lessen recurrence chances... Anyone else have ideas on rads for neoadjuvant chemo? Guess we won't know until path report

Tazzy - Loved the justification for the muffin. You are a hoot!!
Juneau - I agree, one smokin' hot mama. Where are you headed to, I forgot?
Websister - Hope you are having a great time with DS and grandkids. You're right, sounds like a new place is order after rehab. I had one pt do that from a w/c. Stepped on the foot pedals and over she went.
Liefie - don't think I've welcomed you back from your trip. Lovely day here but much colder for the weekend and it might freeze again. BOOHOO - my peach and plum trees are blooming. Not been brave enough to take the freeze cloth off my fig "bush".
Believe - Love your "exam" poem. So true.
Shari - so one week till CA out, OUT. Yeah.
Marian - gosh that sounds like an awfully quick start to rads. I only had a LX but they waited 6 weeks to start mine with no sx to delay them.
Chrisrenee - I saw that same PBS 50's program. Came of age with 60s music but love the 50s.
Congrats on everyone's weight loss. I've got to get my butt out and walk.
Get me some happy this weekend. Company DD's company does business with has a suite at the Stars hockey game for Sat. Wasn't sure I could go you know with bottle baby goat. DH has rearranged his work sched. for Sat so he will be home earlier than usual to goat sit. So off we go to Dallas. Get to ride the train which in itself is an experience (all of about 30-40 minutes. LOL).
Hope all are having a good day with minimal SEs. And hopefully spring is evident or will be shortly for everyone.
