Oh Chrisrenee that's so great....it's a good feeling isn't it?....get a pair of your favourite jeans out and keep looking at them for more incentive.

Chrisrenee, pants getting loose! What a great feeling, yes?
OK, just trying to get a handle from all of you SURVIVORS on the next step. I got a call today for a booking next week (March 27) for CT mapping for rads. Then rads starting following week. I still have a drain in (out tomorrow) and according to my exercise brochure I add exercises the next day. Still, can't imagine getting my arm over my head by the 27th for the mapping. I know the RO (and MO) did not want a big gap between chemo (Last Taxol Jan. 28) but 4 weeks only to reover from surgery before rads? Yikes! So did any of you go so quickly from surgery to rads?
0 -
Marian,
I still had swelling at 4 weeks from surgery and RO didn't want to do rads until swelling went down, it would have effected the markings, I did rad 6 weeks after surgery but not sure what is the usual waiting time.0 -
Checking in - busy bunch of ladies
Marian - I had the radiation before reconstruction
Momof3/2Fried - congratulations on your good results
Joanne - wonderful news re: friends daughter
Aruba - sorry to hear about the accident of the girl your husband used to coach
Tazzy - hope you get those people that are keep you so busy whipped into shape quickly
MrsCich - good to hear from you and good luck with your surgeries
Ramols - congrats on going topless, I have mixed feelings also. I flew to my son's place on Sunday and felt OK with it and then today the hair on the left side of my head has decided to be stubbornly curly and the right is straight except for a patch near the top right - fun!
I know I am missing commenting on lots of posts, it took a bit to catch up. I have had this trip to my son's place planned for a bit, looking forward to it helped get me through radiation. My husband, who only gets sick about once every five to ten years, came down with a bad chest cold starting last Thursday and then just as we were going to drive to the plane I got a call from the hospital saying my mother had fallen at the lodge and was in Emergency waiting for x-rays. I may be the worst daughter in the world but this has been quite a couple of years with her and a year with my own health issues so I continued with my plans and am enjoying my stay with my son's family. Something magical about being with grandchildren.
I've checked in and Mom didn't fracture anything in her fall from the wheelchair (she says it 'threw her out'), she spent a day in hospital and is now back in the rehab facility again, I'm kind of hoping that they will reassess and place her better this time, she seems to need more care/supervision than she has been getting at the lodge she has been placed in.
Take care everyone.0 -
wow - will admit i only just skimmed - so apologies to all i've missed. was a very long day yesterday at work - but got lots of love and support from my colleagues, many of who swear I should keep my hair this short. um... not quite. but maybe i'll keep a pixie once it gets a bit more volume to it. who knows.
websister - the woman at the salon who helped me recommended using a leave-in conditioner to weigh down the untameables without getting too product goopy. so far its working for me - but mine isn't long enough for any of it to really be unruly yet. good luck! oh - and your mom knows you love her. you chose to be a great grandma - you didn't choose to be a bad daughter. i'm glad your mom seems to be on the mend though.

websister: (((hugs)))
Marian: I was about 6 weeks from surgery to rads.
Busy day again so better get on. Have a wonderful Tuesday Ladies - looks like another nice bright day here today.
Love you all xxx

Hi tazzy
0 -
shianne, my hair grew in the opposite of a fauxhawk - like typical male-pattern-baldness. The sides and back were growing great but the top is limping along.
2Fried, I am relieved along with you! Yay!wow, there is way too much to catch up on. I got to be at my father's 85th birthday celebration yesterday, yay!, and then drove home on sheets of ice - eek. Made it safely and have a baseline pelvic ultrasound today. eew. oh well, I had so many over a few years when I kept having miscarriages that I'm pretty desensitized to the experience... let's hope that's true today.
Cheers to everyone!

Websister, so nice you can spend some quality time with your children and grandchildren. Hopefully your mom will be okay soon. She's really had a rough time, and you've certainly had your fair share of trouble. The tide has to turn now.
Ramols, you look great! Isn't it wonderful to lose the wig, scarves, hats, etc, and just feel normal again? My hair came back very curly, but after the second cut 9 months PFC the unruly curls were gone, and it is much more manageable. The pixie is getting too long now, and will need another cut soon. Glad you had such a positive experience at work. You sound 'happy'!
Marian, it seems you are doing well after your surgery? I started rads 24 days after chemo ended, and had my surgery before chemo, so can't help you there. It does seem a bit rushed though. Four weeks after my surgery (left mastectomy, SNB and TE placed), my surgery side was still quite swollen.
Allurbadday, good luck on the ultrasound today!
Chrisrenee, good for you on the looser pants. A good feeling, hey? The bitch is doing her job.
Everybody else, too much to comment on, so will just wish everybody a very good day with minimal or no SE's.

6 weeks from rads to surgery for me...
0 -
ok- so I updated my avatar last night when I was trying on my swim suit to pack for my trip. Not a TOTAL nightmare, but not my spry younger self either.
Also, thinking I might travel formy eyelid lift. Why spend $6500 here when I can find someone good and go elsewhere and spend 1/3 of that.

Chrisrenee, gotta love the loose pants, I am slowly getting there. Don't want to rush it and have to go back to the fat pants.
Juneau, you look maaaarvelous!0 -
Juneau - looking good! I'm sending you a pm.
Shari - you are on all of my minds and in our hearts. Another day down!
Ireland - if you can check email during the day, we will break up your paper pushing. Hang in there.
I had blood taken today (5 vials - yuk) who would voluntarily pick that job! Getting ready for my MO appt on Thurs - or as we call it - a group Pocket outing. I'm wearing my NED bracelet. That's all I want to hear.
I have a photo for you all. Hopefully I can get Photobucket to work for me.
For those of you who are to young to know who this is... She's the original Chatty Cathy. In her day, I believe she was the first talking doll. This will sound lame today, but she actually had a string that you pulled on her neck and she said a few sentences. I found her on Amazon. Prices were as high as 350.00. Wish my dear son wouldn't have destroyed mine.0 -
Ireland... As soon as I was able I come here from relief of work these days Just gives that break from the paper pushing.
I have trousers on today, and are actually a little more loose around the waist that I remember or they were.... it so helps to see that for encouragement.
Will be in your pockets for Thursday Believe. Please leave Chatty Cathy at home, those china doll face's always make me think of horror movies... !

I know who Chatty Cathy is! I may be young but I love the "older" things I spent the entire day today listening to Pandora at work. I had my channel set to 50's music. Had a patient that said "hey i know that song". told him yeah me too. he told me i was way too young to know those songs. Then we started talking about how PBS had a special on a couple of weeks ago and i told him i had watched it. He was mighty impressed with this 35 year old girl! haha He started naming groups and songs and i almost put a concert on for him right then and there. lol

Believe - I am definitely in your pockets on Rhuraday along with being in Chrisrenee's On Feiday. Wishing both of you the best news line I got yesterday!
Chrisrenee and Tazzy congrats on the loose pants.
Juneau you look amazing.
Shari here's to one more day closer to surgery.
I know I am missing others, but I hope everyone finds something happy today.
My happy was buying bracelets for my Mon Sister and Grandme from Believe and her Mom to say thanks for all they have done for me this past year. Believe us also sending one for me that I plan to wear everyday once I get it. YOU AEW THE BEST BELIEVE FOR DIIBG WGAT YOU HAVE!
Hugs to anyone that needs then today!0 -
Thanks momof3! Believes bracelets are awesome! I wear one every day and get compliments on them. i'm always giving out the website. I should start making up business cards just so i can hand them out! I'm Believes honorary marketing person for Texas. ha My happy for the day was making it home without yelling at other drivers on the road. I'm a very aggressive driver one of my flaws. I just saw that you are on Femara too. How are you handling it?
Tazzy- congrats on your lose pants too.

I have been on Famera for 2 months and have been very sore lately. My MO told me yesterday that this is very normal and should get better in a few months. I can live with it, but there are times I feel like a very old lady and I am only 43. How are you doing on it?
I am already Believe's marketing agent in CT and I haven't even gotten my bracelets yet. I like the business card idea.0 -
I'm doing better since i've add glucosomine twice a day and 2 advils twice a day. With Femara it pulls the fluid from your joints and the glucosamine helps put it back in. So that may be something you might want to look into. I understand about the feeling older than what i am at times. it does get better.

Juneau- what the heck! All this groaning that you need eyes done, this and that tucked etc-You look great!
Allurbaddays thank you I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I was. Hope the pelvic us went ok. I had to have several of those myself over the last few but I have nothing left now so I guess I'm done with that. Thats great about your dad; mines going to be 89 soon. I feel so blessed to still have him.
Websister so sorry your Mom fell. I hope you aren't guilting yourself over not canceling your plans. It was not a life or death situation and you do have other familial obligations. I'm glad you got to spend time with the grandkids.
Ramols that hair place is really nice and I'm sure your hair looks wonderful.
Ok Chrisrenee I'm so glad you are reaping the rewards for your exercizing and watching what you eat. But now that you are talking size changes I am jealous. You may have given me the incentive to put the cookies, cakes, etc on hold myself so I can get back in smaller clothes. lol
Believe Oh my gosh- I spent many hours with Chatty Cathy as well as Patty Playpal. I think I actually thought they were real lol. But then Barbie, Ken and Midge took over my life for the next few years. I had all my dolls in the attic for years but unfortunately I had gotten married and never got them out and the house was sold with all my original dolls, plus a Beatle purse and Beatle cards. Did you buy Chatty Cathy? Thanks for posting her picture. Those were the days.
Momof3 I agree-Believe is an angel . I wear my bracelet everyday and just love it!
Have to run Hope you all had a good day
0 -
Juneau - you sexy bitch! Have a awesome time!
Just got home from hell(work) now onto treadmil to run! Gosh I need to quit:( can I come be someone nanny? Can't promise I won't let you kids run wild
Ok read everyone post - big Whoo hooo on pants being loose!
Hugs and love and will stop by later after my ass get My run in!0 -
mcook - come be mine! I'm sure my son will have a teenager crush on you!
0 -
2fried - I had a Patty Play Pal too! Of course I didn't buy Chatty Cathy! Been there, done that. Tazzy, she wasn't porcelain. By the time Cathy came along, they were using plastic. My Mother saved all my dolls. My son later destroyed all my dolls - boys. Should have kept them boxed! I went to boarding school, no dolls allowed. I think Barbie and her boobs got dolls banned.
Chrisrenee - so you like older things - guess that's why you like us. Congrats to you and Tazzy with loose pants! I just got off the Beast. My feet and knees hurt if I go over 3, but I have added gel filled blue weights. Hope they help!
Mcooks work out puts mine to shame but I'm a lot older. New excuse!
Chrisrenee and Melissa, be careful what you wish for. As soon as I get a hand pay like Aruba, you could be getting business cards! The pay is bracelets. You are precious and priceless.
We are still on a roll. Everyone's results have been good so far. We are the Warriors !0
