shianne - i don't think my skin ever got as bad as yours, but i will say it does get better. and when it gets better - it is BETTER! Mine was the worst for the first week after rads ended and then all of sudden overnight it seemed - the redness turned to tan and it started peeling. Yesterday was my 2-week post-rads mark and my skin feels great. I've even stopped glopping on aquaphor twice a day. In the morning i just put on a light moisturizer and then at night I put a thin coating of aquaphor on. Hang in there honey!

shari - rest up and don't worry. I imagine they'll let you have their surgery. They don't want to juggle their schedules either - especially for a stuffy nose... keep us posted.

websister - sending good thoughts for your mom

    hugs to all!

but i have a question for you rads grads... when did the exhaustion lift? how much longer do i have to wait to not feel so darn tired all the time and just get back to my normal full-time working mom of a 2 and 5 year old tired? :)

Hi gals...rad questions....I finished at the end of May and it took about 6 months for the exhaustion to lessen.

Like Jo, I was given cortisone cream along with a saline solution as I ended up with a fungus under my rad breast and u der my arm...took two weeks for it to clear up.

Shianne, over-the-counter hydrocortizone cream will calm the redness, soreness and itching. My rad onc told me to get it, I did, and that was what worked best together with the saline soaks. It really gave wonderful relief. Hang in there; it's almost over. Hugs to you!

Ramols, it took me about 3 months after rads to have enough energy to start exercising seriously again. You are much younger than me, so you should bounce back way quicker, I think. Sleep when you can; it helps a lot.

Shari, I doubt they will cancel your surgery because of a stuffy nose, but I'm willing that cold to go away so you can relax. We'll all be there tomorrow!

Jumping gently into a couple of pockets for tomorrow.

My RO gave me hydrocortisone cream and dilaudid. Thank god!! I was in tears as soon as the rads tech asked how I was today. Nurse said to expect the one spot under my arm to get "weepy" by the weekend. I'm walking around with it over my head all the time. I'm sure I looked the complete twit driving home with my arm behind my head!! And of course it's my right, everything is so awkward doing it with my left.

Websister - adding your Mom to my prayers.

Shianne - maybe you can pick up the silver solution at a local pharmacy. It worked miracles for me. I finished rads in July 2012. My DH drove me every afternoon. My appt was at 1:30. I worked in the mornings. I pretty much slept in the afternoons. I don't remember the fatigue after the radiation ended being that bad. I think I was relieved not to have to go anymore. The little ice bags made it all bearable. Have you tried them? If you get the right ones, you can probably pin them into your camisole. Very soothing. Our weather was in the 100's while I was going for treatment.

Shari - tomorrow's almost here! Hope the sniffles are better. I doubt they will postpone your procedure, like Scottie said, they have their own scheduling difficulties.

Chrisrenee - don't work to hard. I'm sure you are enjoying your DH being home.

I've used my ankle weights on the Beast for 3 days. I can see my scale taking notice! The weights aren't uncomfortable at all, don't even know I have them on. Doctor said no more than 1 pound. The weights will strengthen the long bones in legs and hopefully make ostreposis (sp) less of a risk.

Hugs to all. Enjoying my house full of company!

Believe- I'm enjoying him being home. We talked til 1130 last night which made me even more tired today. I actually slept over 45 min.

Funny story I wore my NED bracelet today and I had a patent if NED was my husband. I said yep he's my new one. Ha

    Hello Fellow Warriors,

It is always so nice to be able to "come home" to this site and read about everyone's days, struggles, wishes, suggestions and good thoughts.  You are all so kind, caring and loving.  I cannot imagine a day without my BCO "fix" and all of you.  Thanks to everyone for all that you bring to this thread for all of us.  It is simply amazing how much information we have to share and how much we all truly want to help each other.  I am halfway done with this stupid T/C chemo as of last week but it certainly was a hard one.  Nausea, dizziness, bone pain, itching, hair loss. etc.  I know we will all get through it and be stronger soon but boy can life be a bit** sometimes.   I am anxiously awaiting the upcoming Easter weekend and all of the goodies my Sis and I will be cooking.  I will declare right now in front of all of you and our Creator that "I totally intend to overindulge" in the wonderful food AND CHOCOLATE that will be filling the house and the kitchen soon.  Happy, Happy everyone and thanks again for being here!  Peace, Luv and Blessings.
