Good Morning Ladies! I've been reading but not posting. I've been on life's treadmill, it's all good!
Ramols - your dancing with family made me grin all over! Thanks for sharing your happy. I don't have any gallbladder issues but everyone's advise seems perfect. Get rid of it!
Mom of 3 - yeah for all your good results, more to come ...
Lostinmo - praying the new treatment is a blessing. Meeting you was a high light of our trip! Goal accomplished. I hope you will answer my pm. Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way.
So many weather challenges out there. Everyone stay safe and warm. CA is having a drought - go figure.
Aruba - enjoy that wonderful blue sky and warm sand in Aruba! Such will power to not even walk into Diamonds International!
Karen, Scottie, Juneau, Cheryl, Nettie and all that I missed - I'm proud to be a part of our wonderful group! I always look forward to your words of wisdom. Tazzy - you are the best at checking in. Your shoes are too big for me to follow in your footsteps. Maybe someday we will settle down. Home for a week and then off again!
I'm in for all pocket parties with positive prayers, thoughts and of course cookies.

Nettie and Ramols, hoping for no attacks until your next appointments. Yes, it seems that there is always something. At the moment I have a sore arm/shoulder on the non-cancer side. It is tendonitis that I got from dragon boating 6 years ago, and it flares up every now and then. When it does, it takes months to go away, and there is very little you can do except grin and bear it. Had to quit the dragon boat team because of it, and still miss that cameraderie, and the beautiful summer afternoons on the water.
Lostinmo, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Cher, yay on the ACTION tomorrow - let us know how it went.
Believe and Scottie, good to hear from the two of you!
Everybody else, all the best to you all.

Hi all!
Back from paradise also known as Aruba! You have to put this island on your bucket list for a view of heaven on earth! Sun, surf and happy people with smiles on their faces....Crazy delays and flight cancellations due to the storm here in the states.. I'll catch up more later but wanted to share the view from our hotel room for those stuck in the storms out east. Jump into this scene and feel the warm breeze! Hope everyone is feeling ok..in your pockets if needed!

Aruba, looked great~~being in a warm beautiful place makes such a difference and having it with the same name is icing on the cake.
Hi liefie! We should talk soon~~want to hear about your S. African trip and the wedding!
I am feeling great though still always tired by evening. 3 weeks from today I will be in Hong Kong en route to Nepal. Not worrying about my fitness~~it will all be fine.

Aruba what hotel did you stay at? We are staying at Marriott surf club in July and seeing your pic makes me so excited. Never been and going with friends that have and I know we're going to have a blast.
Marianelizabeth - Nepal? Really? Wow!
I guess this disease isn't slowing us down!

wow - you ladies go to exotic places!

Marian, yes, we will connect before you go to Nepal. Are you leading the trek again this time? Anna Purna? You sure are one feisty woman who does not allow anything to put you off, and who has earned my respect and admiration. High five!

liefie .. Great list. I would add Belize, Bali and Fiji.
I have such a "bum" knee that my bucket list will have to wait a couple of years until I get a knee replacement.

Greek Islands
Castle in Ireland
Villa in Tuscany
Pub crawl in England
Wandering in the Highlands
And after each trip a few days on a beach (think Bermuda, Fiji, Belize)

Karen, no this disease is and should not slow us down! Believe, I am not sure I would call Nepal exotic but it is amazing. Tazzy I know about the bucket list and I have some on it but somehow Nepal keeps calling me back. I guess as long as people want to go on my trips I will continue. In fact I have a wait-list for March so am doing the same trek/tour in October again. And yes, liefie the trek is to Annapurna Base Camp.
Liefie and Karen those are great bucket lists! Joanne, hope you get that new knee sooner than later but no harm in starting the bucket list now.
I am trying not to let the Olympics keep me on the couch and am so glad I have PVR.
Cher, I am waiting to hear how the appointment at BCCA today went?

Getting things squared away and just back from PT for wrist. Still a ways to go...on that ...
As for Aruba, I am lucky gal. FIrst stopped here on a Panama Canal cruise years ago that same month found that DH's boss takes him as management along with top producers/spouses to Aruba every year and switches it up every 3-4 years with another destination (we went to London two years ago) so I have been to Aruba about 6-7 times and know they going back again next year.
Karen, you will be right next door to where I stayed at the Marriott resort. A visit to this 19 mile long island gives you all options. There is all the beach activities like parasailing, tubing, sailing, snorkling or just getting on a raft and floating around. Beaches are gorgeous with white sand and immaculate. Their main industry is tourism and marketing aloe from Aruba. Each hotel on the hotel row has shops and many have mini casinos. Dining is casual to fancy. So you can do as much or as little as you would like.
We spent our days either by the pool or reserving a hut right on the sand. We walked the beach to one of the piers for a mango or rasberry smoothie. Nights we went out to nice restaurants twice and casual a few times. Weather is almost always guaranteed good with perhaps some very scattered showers. Shopping downtown was a fun day too with a quaint lunch by the water. There are deals to be had, but we stuck with the flea market downtown and did not even venture in all the jewelry stores that show all their bling in their windows.
The pure beauty of the teal waters, the lush green everywhere and the azure sky is the picture I keep in my head when I was faced with all the procedures of BC. I wanted a place to mentally escape and could not think of a better one than Aruba, hence the name I chose way back when I started on BCO.

Just curious - those of you who travel - what precautions do you take when flying? Presume you wear a sleeve and glove/gauntlet but do you still worry about it triggering lymphedema? I'm afraid to fly, or do anything that might bring it on.
0 -
Jennie - I don't have lympedema, guess I can't spell it either hopefully one of our sisters can give you advise on that front.
So much security at the airports now, getting there so early , delays, searches, no tooth paste - kind of took the fun out of it. Can our Canadians comment on these items. I wonder if it's the same everywhere?
Wishing everyone a great week end!

Jennie - even though 6 nodes removed doesn't sound like a lot, I think it's enough to recommend wearing a sleeve/gauntlet preventatively on the plane. That said - now that I have lymphedema and have been learning more about it from the therapists - I'm fairly convinced that you're either going to get lymphedema or your not. You're not going to do anything to cause it. It just happens. They even think there can be a genetic tie. So don't avoid things for fear of lymphedema. Do what feels right and listen to your body. And take precaution when you can - like a sleeve for flying. When I asked all kinds of questions about what things I should and shouldn't be doing now - both therapists I've been working with said the same thing. There is lymphedema, and there is life; you still have to live your life. So grab your happy and don't let lymphedema fears drag you down! Hugs!

I wore my sleeve on my recent flights, both about 5 hours. I am flying 13 or 14 hours though to Hong Kong and hope that the sleeve does its thing. I got compression stockings given to me for my mx and I took them to the hospital when I had my recon in December and they had been ordered so I felt good about saving the taxpayers a few $. The nurse did tell me before the mx to keep them as they are expensive. Anyway, I plan to wear them too on the long flights just in case. Lots of water too before and during the flights.

I don't have lymphedema but always wear a sleeve on the plane, recommended by RO.

bucket list ... I am so fortunate that I have seen most of Canada ... Have been to all the provinces and the Yukon ... Panned gold in Dawson City.

The view from my cottage window .. Lake Erie .. Arranged to have the driveway pillowed before I came .. Good thing ... Nice and sunny with all the snow. The lake is frozen over which gives us more lake effect snow.

JoAnne - beautiful photo! How can snow look so soft and fluffy?
I love visiting Aruba too but they have a great big Diamonds International Store, I spend way too much time inside of it :-)
OK - I have spent the better part of this afternoon working on my Mom's web site. She so deserves a better web master! I'm telling you all because Aruba sent me an adorable photo earlier of her and her daughters beautiful hands wearing their Angel Bracelets! I decided to put it on the site (after she gave me permission) and if anyone else wants to send photos - I am thinking about starting a photo gallery. I also added some of the new beads I picked up in Tucson. The whole site is always a work in progress. You all derserve a family and friends discount so if you have any questions or wants - just email me and I will see that you get what ever you want I think that if I have your address, I probably have you pretty well decorated. If you have a moment - please peek: www.NotAllAngelsAreInHeaven.com
It's pretty quiet here today. I hope you are all having a great warm week end.
