shorfi: Here's the link to the TN site.  http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/72/topic/752075?page=798#idx_23924

I was dx'd as TN then I had chemo and was 12% ER.

Tazzy - sorry you have to have yet another procedure but if it's helpful in the long run and if you don't need it then my theory is take it out!

Saw all my drs yesterday. Having an US next Tues on recommendation of gyno as a preventative since Tamox can cause endometrial cancer. Saw my MO and she helped me a lot with my struggles. All was good. Except for the scale part. When I saw that number I was like sheesh then I figured it was all of you in my pockets! I'll write that weight off!

    Ok off to the gym.

Tazzy - I had full hysterectomy with the Davinci Robot and it was not a bad recovery at all. I took one week off from work and then worked half days from home the 2nd week and then back full time in the office.

I did have to be careful and not do much lifting or cleaning for 6 weeks, but I felt great. All I took for pain was Motrin.

PM me if you have specific questions.

    Hugs to everyone!!!!!

Karen, I have gained 25 pounds from the tamoxifen already and I'm getting pretty depressed about it.  I like your explanation better.  Ha ha!

Tazzy...I did because I had elevated levels from the tumor markers. Turns out that everything was fine. But I am glad I had the oophorectomy, one less thing to worry about. I stayed home from work for 2 weeks, but really you don't need that much time off.

Tazzy - I had an ooph and exchange surgery on the same day, one right after the other. I was sore but it was definitely the way to go for me. The restrictions following surgery were almost the same (driving, lifting etc) so my healing time and time away from work were shorter.

I would encourage every woman who is BRCA+ to seriously consider an ooph. At least talk to your MO about it. My ooph was prophylactic and when the path report came back, it was positive for early stage OvCa. Who knows how long it would've taken to be diagnosed...probably in a later stage for sure.

Wow... you ladies are amazing.   How you all look on an ooph - I couldn't agree more.

Journey - I am happy to hear that yours was removed before they found CA.

Well if I did have any fears about it I don't now.   And yes Karen... love everyone in our pockets but geesh do they add to our weight - ha ha!!

You ladies are the best - love you all.xxxxxxx

Oh! and I figured that if I was going to be home recovering if I got referred now, couple of months wait list, surgery then recovery I'd be able to get in my garden and greenhouse - why not?

On my way to Nepal at last. We had relatives and friends staying with us for the past several weeks not to mention my DH returning from the high seas of 8 months only 3 weeks ago so I left last night quite exhausted.

I survived the 13.5 hour flight from Vancouver to Hong Kong last night better than expected. I wore the anti embolism full stockings given to me at the time of my mx and also my compression sleeve on the flight and they worked like a charm~~no swelling at all! Now in a pay for lounge in the airport as I have a 12 hour layover and just had a complimentary 15 minute head and neck massage~~great view of the harbour beyond a runway and am so excited to be heading to Kathmandu tonight! It has been a long haul but now I get to see if I am still up to climbing uphill and not metaphorically!

    Namaste,

    Marian

Hi everybody, I've been really busy helping DD with baby, cleaning, cooking etc. Going home on Sunday, and will have more time to post. I love this grandma business - what fun, and what a joy.

Lostinmo, so happy to hear you are feeling better, and that you are home. It is the best place to be. You take it easy and be good to yourself. All the best to you!

Marian, good luck, have a good next flight, and enjoy the trek. You have come so far already; this will be a piece of cake, right?

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Liefie and Websister. I saw this and thought of both of you (and me too)

Lostinmo. - like Dorothy said - there is no place like home. Hoping you continue to feel better.

We are still out of town enjoying the desert blue skies and sun shine. We've met several people here from Canada. It takes them 3 1/2 days to drive here. I have a lot of nerve complaining about our 10 hour drive!

I'm not able to post often but you are always in my thoughts and heart. Make it a great week end! Hugs

"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life." --Omar Khayyam

"Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be." --Abraham Lincoln

Chrisrenee, your boy is growing up fast - enjoy every minute! It flies by before you know it.

Ramols, you mentioned Scorchy. Does anyone here know how she's doing?
