ndgrr... yes - stomach fat specifically makes something that mimicks estrogen in the body.  That's why I've been exercising like a fucking crazy erson to lose this 10 lbs in my belly, gained from the freaking tamoixfen.  It's a cruel joke.

Speaking of cruel jokes... my BITCH of a new boss fired me yesterday.  Officially they are restructuring the department and my job no longer exists.  I WAS A DEPARTMENT OF ONE!  There IS no other LP person in the Corporate office.  I was escorted out and given one months severance pay. fucking C&%T!  Pardon my language... but I'm being nice here.... she was my boss for 6 weeks and got me fired.  Maybe I never should have stood up to her back in February when she spoke to me so disrespectfully.  I need an employment lawyer to read this damn release before I sign it; but NJ is a "at will" state and with the "restructuring" reason I really have no recourse.  They never said I did anything wrong....

I'm worried as unemployment is far less then I earn - we have this new beautiful house... and now we may not be able to afford the new windows/vinyl siding project for a while.  I HATED THAT PLACE.  I WANTED TO CRY MOST DAY.  I was already interviewing and looking around, but it wasn't on my terms... you know what I mean.  but fuck - I beat cancer....  I'll find another position soon.  Gods got me in his hands... I just ahve to remember that.

ok I'm signing off for now. xoxo ladies

Juneaubugg, sorry to hear about the job loss, but in the long run the stress of losing that job will probably be less than the stress of having to work there. I had a boss just like that, and if he had been there when I was diagnoses with bc I know he would have "helped" me by putting me on medical leave and then never letting me come back. Of course I always wonder if my working conditions didn't help me develop cancer to begin with. Stress is a killer. Good luck in finding a new job, I know with your determined attitude you'll be fine.

juneaubugg - I am so sorry you lost your job, but I know you will find another one that will be much better for you!  I lost my last job similar to you and I know what you are feeling, but you are determined and you will make it through!  I am also sorry that I did not get a chance to meet up with you in person the other day!!!!!!!  I am feeling much better and having a great time down here though. The fireworks were great!  I loved your pictures. You look fabulous!

juneau, sorry to hear the news but my gut says it was the best thing - you sounded so miserable at that place.  I know you will find something better very soon.

Hope all are well on this fine Wednesday.

Juneaubug - so sorry to sign on here and read about your job loss - what a horrible way for them to go about it! Wish you had been able to quit them - with another job in your pocket when you did it. Hope that you are able to find another position quickly and that your house projects can continue!

Could use some people in my pockets tomorrow - I was called on Monday and told I have an endoscopy booked for tomorrow afternoon - really short notice - my past history is precancerous changes in the esophagus prior to the BC diagnosis - last time wasn't fun as I wasn't adequately sedated prior to the start of the procedure - ended up very hoarse for a couple of weeks.

LostinMo - so good to hear from you again, I am looking forward to reading your blog

juneau, I echo the above and hope there will be a silver lining here.

websister, in your pocket for sure.

I am having a barium swallow next Wed. to try to figure out why I have had the feeling of a lump in my throat for over a year~~mid way through rads it started. No pain just a lump feeling. The specialist put me on a proton pump inhibitor to rule out a reflux but that did nothing. I think myself that it is a cancer take away and maybe swallowing muscles damaged from rads. First mammogram since dx was fine and got those results yesterday.

Juneau - sorry about the "downsizing". But now you can devote time to job search and not do it furtively. I know with the net it's much easier than when I was doing it. Siding/windows can wait. So long as the house payment is made. Fingers crossed for a great job coming your way.

OK Scottiee and Jo - expecting lots of picture from the GTG.

Aruba - sorry about dad's car but at least you're OK. Vacation sounds marvelous.

Websister - in your pocket. Don't give you much warning do they?

Marian - in your pocket as well. At least after it's over you will know it's nothing to worry about.

Websister - in your pockets!  That was quick, keeping positive thoughts.

Juneau - a better job awaits you!  Supposedly employers watch or at least check FB. Do you think they knew you were unhappy and looking around?  Yes, another, better door will open.

Momof3 - enjoy your time off in your happy place.

We are renting a bicycle for four today - Friends joined us in Monterey.  They have a lot of energy. How hard can it be with four of us pedaling?

Juneau I feel your pain. I've been in your situation where I got a new boss (who brought on a friend) who was a total bitch and then proceeded to try and get me fired. The only thing that saved me was I just found out I was pregnant. So I sucked it up for 7 months, went on maternity leave and when I came back found out they were both fired for sucking money out of the company. See instead of doing their job they spent upwards of $20,000 a month on an outside service so they could go get mani/Pedi's instead of working. What comes around goes around and karma is a bitch. A better job is out there for you. Before my DX I was laid off and went back to school and changed my career. Keep positive thoughts and a new job will come along whether it is the one you are meant to be at or a stepping stone to the right one. After all you've been through and have overcome in your life do not let this get you down. Enjoy the summer. Get some sun. It'll be fine.

    Websister - in your pockets

Aruba - ugh but glad everyone is ok.

5 day countdown to our trip to One Happy Island! Can't wait! I am going to do ATV's and para sailing and lord knows what else will come up. Enjoy the day ladies.

Marianelizabeth - definitely in your pockets for Wednesday - my GI specialist told me that radiation can definitely damage the esophagus and asked quite a few questions about swallowing.

Believe - wow, a bicycle built for 4! Sounds like great fun, hope you enjoyed

Karen - ATV's and parasailing - sounds incredible - please keep us updated on your activities

The endoscopy went fairly well today, he gave me quite a bit of sedation and then added to it when I still had some trouble at the beginning so I was pretty groggy after. Now just have a little difficulty with swallowing - sore throat.

The area of Barrett's has doubled in size since three years ago - from 4 cm to 8 cm. he took several biopsies and his report says - await biopsy results. My office will follow-up on any biopsy abnormalities and act accordingly.

So it sounds like once again no news will be good news - thanks so much to all for the pocket party today!

Looking forward to pictures from the get-together!

Thanks Websister. Barium swallow done this AM and swallowing muscles are fine~~I remain convinced this is a "cancer take-away" from rads but who knows! It just feels like a lump in my throat so I can live with this....

Marianelizabeth - glad all went well and good results - I agree re: cancer takeaway from radiation - there seem to be more after effects from it than I was aware of. Take care
