HI Everyone, been MIA for a bit - I don't post as much these days, but still think of you every day. Loved looking at the GTG pics - you all look wonderfully happy.
I was in my friends truck last week - we got rear ended - stupid woman who was in a bigger truck, didn't even try to stop - according to reports - doing about 70-80 km and bang! But lucky not in my car cos I think we would've been squished like flies. Totalled my friends truck. So had lots of aches and pains from that - yuk!
Now we have a raging forest fire (Smith Creek) which as the crow flies about 1 km from our neighbourhood. We are OK and not evacuated or on alert. But friends are we have a house full of evacuees - praying for rain today with no wind.
Happy to hear the good news - sending hugs if not so good and of course jumping pockets when and where needed.
Hope you are all managing to have a good summer so far. Love and hugsxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello ladies just wanted to share this beautiful sunset from my room. Aruba is amazing and can't wait to fill you in when I get home. Sad to say its sooner rather than later.

I cheated and copied this from my personal family group but wanted to share with all of you also and just too lazy to re-write.
Home from Tucson. Let's see if I can remember everything.
The bad news of the day was that my hemoglobin is very low and if it gets lower they would have to give me a transfusion. So instead I am getting another 3 weeks off the platin drugs (IV chemo) and just taking the xeloda.
The radiologist did see a suspicious spot on my back, but when the Dr examined me and we talked about the pain I have in my back he thinks it sounds more like degenerative disc than cancer. He is however putting me on XGEVA, Vickie tells me this is a bone strengthening drug.
And now for the rest of the story.........PRAISE REPORT COMING!!!!!
Preliminary ct scan show significant regression in the lungs and liver. Liver shows only a few tiny spots where it was full of cancer on the last ct I had in March. Lungs sound clear upon exam. We went over the plan of action with the waiting and the adding of the Xgeva and he said, "since we have you in REMISSION, I think this is the best course of action.".
Remission is not as good as NED but I will take it!! Believing that I will hear it soon though. Thank you Lord!0 -
Back in Ohio and while I have not caught up on all posts yet, Lostinmo that is fantastic news on Remission! Tazzy, there are lots of things I'd rather share with you than also being in a car accident recently. So glad you are ok! The gang looks great at the getogether, what fun!!!
I am just back from our carribean cruise to celebrate our 30th. We had an awesome time visitng San Juan, Turk and Caicos, Princess Cay -cruise line private island on Eluthra) and St. Thomas. While St. Thomas is known for shopping, we skipped that and headed for the British Virgin Island of Tortola. where I met a new friend :} This was on my bucket list and will be a cherished memory.
I'll check in later after I get caught up! Hugs!!

I have been absent from posting, but needed time to figure things out. I need to have yet another hernia surgery on Monday morning. My doctor said that this can happen about 10% of the time after an initial surgery. It is supposed to be much easier than the first, but I am really scared this time. This will be my 8th surgery in 2 1/2 years. My boss is being ok, but I know she is not happy about me being out again. My DH is my rock but how many times can he put up with this? My new saying is if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.
I hate to do this again, but I really need you guys in my pocket Monday to help me through.
Thanks for letting me vent!
You are all so important to me and I can't thank all of you enough for always being there for me over and over again!!!!
Hugs to you all!!!!!!

momof3 - I'm in for your pocket party! I've only had bad luck when I didn't invite all of you! You never have to be alone. Maybe this will be the last surgery, you are certainly due for a surgery vacation! I think your boss, I think she's a lady, needs some angels for her patience. Let me know what size and I will get a care package out to you. Gifts, of course.
I spent yesterday at the Social Security office and today deleting old files off my computer. I believe I need a bead day! My last baking adventure was a disaster. I made peanut butter brownies and they refused to cook in the middle!
Hugs to all!

Momof3, in your pocket for sure and let this be the last surgery~~you need a break! Lostinmo so happy to hear your news too!
I did my short course triathlon on Sunday for the second year and this time it was exactly two years from diagnosis. This time both my youngest son Andy did it (second year in a row) but also my daughter Mary did it with us and slow for them but fun too. I won my age category and though there were only two of us I was pretty excited to win with only 7 seconds between us. I had a rough week mentally leading up to Sunday and I guess maybe it was the anniversary thing but I felt as though I was spiralling down. Back up again and working on appreciating every day. BTW Andy is still growing his hair for donation to the Canadian Cancer Agency for wigs as is his brother, thus the long hair. Both are starting to like their long hair though so it may be awhile before they donate.

Momof3, Vent away! That is why we are here for the good and bad days. We all have them and you sure have had more than your share for a while. Hope this is your last for a long time to come. Will be thinking of you.

Mom of3 - I'm in your pockets. Listen to your Dr and maybe the recovery will be quicker.
Cancer is the gift that keeps on giving. Went for eye exam today and I found out I have cataracts. Not from age but more than likely the high doses of steroids taken during chemo. Does it get any f@$&ing better I ask you!

Momof3...I am with you on Monday! After this one..think we should have a pocket party once for us all to celebrate each other with no other reason!
Now that I am home, DH has been in Fl with his dad who had knee replacement that went awry....all seems ok now. Son is taking the Law Bar exam so drove down to Columbus yesterday to distract him from dinner..it's a 3 day exam. Otherwise, things are realtaively quiet...and I like that alot! Hugs to all!

Karen - oh no about the cataracts - not good to hear - will you require surgery soon or will the watch for awhile?
Marianelizabeth - you look great! Congratulations on winning your age category! So nice that your kids did it along with you - BTW - I'm kind of liking the long hair on him also

Believe - thanks for offering to send my boss a bracelet!
Karen - sorry about the cataracts. I go in October and was wondering if I had some myself.
Hugs to everyone!!!!!!

Websister they'll watch them for a few years then probably fix them surgically.
Juneau how'd the job hunt?

hi all- yes, for some reason my 2 yr anniversary if being done with chemo hit me harder than my first one. Doing OK though many aches and pains and stiffness from Tamoxifen (after one year AIs ). My cousin just had BMX, second time with cancer. 4 yrs out. Funky but no nodes.
2 Fried eggs, hope you and DH are doing OK. What a situation. Big hugs.
Didn't see the Mother's Day idea in time but will definitely be there as well as during the year. Means a lot to connect.

Didn’t realise its been so long since I checked in.
In your pockets Momof3
Karen: sorry about the cataracts – that sux.
Marian: way to go !
Sorry to those I may have missed – thinking of you nonetheless.
At work but wanted to take 5 minutes out to say hi and happy BC Day this weekend to any BC’ers out there.
We are off to the States camping – Curlew State Park. Trying to get a camp site in Summer here is practically impossible. Summer has been busy – just with living which is fine by me.
Peace and love to all xxx

Hi All, Wanted to let you know that you are all always on my mind but with all that is going on with my hubby, I rarely have a minute to sit down and write. I got a new lump and had to have a sonogram. Turns out it was fat! They think it may have been remnants of when I had the ps put fat in the outer parts above my implants to kind of round them out- a new scare; just what I needed right now but the good news is its nothing to worry about! Anyway thank you Lisa and all of you who have pm'd me or ask how things are. It's the toughest thing I have ever gone through but so thankful that he is still up and about and suffering very few deficits. I'm glad to hear some of you have had such good news (Lostimo for one!) and sorry to hear of others having issues. Juneau hopefully the job situation will turn out to be a blessing in disguise and something much better will turn up. Oh and the pictures of you ladies having your girls week- priceless! Take care, thinking of you all.

2fried, so glad that you checked in and have never been so happy to hear about fat!!! I hope you know you are thought about often!
Momof3, hope you are keeping busy this weekend and looking forward to having this surgery in your rear view mirror soon.
KatheC..that lint comment gave me a chuckle..see you in the pocket soon!
Karen, I had catraract a few years back on the back of the lens instead of normal old age front of lens somehow....I had cararact surgery a year or so later when the vision continued to blur when I looked at lights at night for example. The surgery, for me at least, was a piece of cake. I even declined anesthesia except for the drops they put in etc. Compared to what we have been through, it was no big deal..I hope it would be the same for you! Glad you had a blast in Aruba!
Tazzy, Websister, Ramols, Juneau, Believe and the rest of the gang.....hope we all have a calm, happy August!! Check in!!

It makes me feel good just to see so many names I saw so many times that main year of craziness… I may never meet any of you in the flesh but I feel like we know a lot about each other. Big hugs.
