Copied from my post on another thread -

quick update from me on my ankle/foot - saw my GP on Monday afternoon - because Workman's Compensation is involved she needed a different form on her computer and so spent much of the time focused on the computer screen trying to make the number of characters in her report fit the form. Very disappointing appointment.

Do any of you also get frustrated at appointments sometimes where you just don't feel like you are being heard? :(

end result is that she decided I need more physio - we'll see if WCB approves - come back in one month.

One extra piece of information from the ultrasound that I wasn't aware of but helps me understand the newer discomfort on ball of foot is there is a 1 cm growth there - possibly neuroma or fibroma or ganglion.

sorry I've been MIA.  Didn't realize all the turmoil.  Let me clarify... I DID NOT STOP TAKING MY TAMOXIFEN and don't plan to.  I only said that part of me so desperately wants to lose weight that I've CONSIDERED stopping when I hit 2 years.  The Meds I am on are phentermine 15mg in the morning, and belvique at night.  It's the belvique that could lessen the effectiveness of the tamoxifen.  I saw my MO and she said it was fine to keep continue taking it. This one curbs cravings. Additionally I spend 2 hours a day at the gym (burning between 600-900 calories per my Polar heart rate monitor) and eat only 1 carb a day and very very little sugar (if any).  I am down to  155.6. Still not at my goal of 150 I set last year. BUT I'M REALLY FIT and feel fantastic. My body's shape has changed and I'm focusing on that. This fucking belly isn't going anywhere.  It's a gift of cancer Meds. *sigh*

    Tazzy; hope your mending well.

    Ramols; happy new year!!!

Marianeliz; hope your mending well too!!

In pockets and hoping everyone is well.  I for one am heading up to Boston early in the morning (where I used to live for 9 yrs until 2001) TO MEET MCOOK for the day!!!!!  I'll post some photos!!! Love you all and I'll try to do a better job at checking in! No job yet so I gave no excuse.  Just busy at the gym and cleaning/organizing the house.

Juneau I am so glad to hear you did not stop that ratched pill. Maybe that last 5 is muscle you've built up. Correct me if I'm wrong but did you mention you were having your other breast done so it is more aligned with the recon one? Maybe you could ask to have a mini tuck.

Last week I started acupuncture to help the side effects of chemo and rads. I'm tired of being achey. She also has me seeing the naturopath in her office who started me on supplements and wants me to try the blood type diet. If anyone has had experience with this I'd love to hear your thoughts.

TGIF ladies! And happy new year to those celebrating!

Lshana Tova to those celebrating a bright New Year!

Has been crazy for me as I had to detour from visiting Annapolis and watching DD soccer games to fly to Fla as dad had breathing issues and pushed his med alert button for an ambulance. Flew here that morning and all is fine with him home that day.  So here in Fla another 10 days.

Reading along and hope all are doing well and/or recouping and feeling better each day.   This gal is amazing if you follow her story.. this video was just fun.

Please give McCook a big hug and enjoy your day.   Look forward to seeing photos

Healing going ok - just slow.  Still have started physio now.

Good evening my loves! I know it's been a while since I've checked in.  It's been an interesting 4 months to say the least.  My grandfather passed away end of June, I miss him like crazy. Around the same time I found a suspicious area in my left breast (a mass with breast pain).  I ended up going in for a breast MRI only to get results that stated "inconclusive".  My MO then requested a breast ultrasound, the radiologist said she was very confident that it was just scar tissue. She told me that she would be more than happy to have another radiologist read my MRI again, which I jumped on.  He came back and said yes it was just scar tissue.  Shortly after that my mom had to have surgery for severe abdominal pain, she is fine just stubborn.  My husband has been amazing through all this, he stayed with my Granny during my grandfathers passing.

As several surprises for me this year, he has bought me a new washer/dryer set (very excited about this) and then today I came home to a new laptop.  Completely not expecting today's gift at all.  I am very spoiled to say the least.   Overall, I am doing well going on with life and work. I think of you all often even though I don't get on here as much as I should.  Hope you all are doing well! love you all!

Good to see you Chrisrenee.  Sorry to hear of your Grandfathers passing.   Happy to hear that you are being spoilt.

Peace, love and hugs to all - as we once again get ready for Pinktober !!!!

I know pinktober isn't everyone's favorite time but I don't mind it. One of the reasons is all the ribbon stuff. My DD went to a street fair and got me these earrings with the pink ribbon beads which made me think of Believe which made me think of all if you. And that made me smile.

Karen:  that is maybe what we should get from Pinktober.   I am torn between hating it and getting on board with it.  I know we have awareness and so most of the population, but there is something warm hearted about it.   Its those little things.    Someone said (sorry I forget who) that we deserve a month to honour ourselves.  So that's what I am getting from it.   I look at my DH  who walks around so proud with his pink ribbon on his lapel and it makes my heart swell.

    Love you all xxxxx

I am with you Katen and Tazzy on looking at the good side of Pinktober. My DD is a freshman in high school and playing on the school soccer team. All the girls got together and designed and bought pink shirts that say E O Smith (big Soccer Ball) We Fight Together with the pink ribbon in the background.  They will all wear them to a game this month. My DD emailed me yesterday from school when she got it asking if she could write, "I'm playing for My Mom" on the back of the shirt. It brought me to tears that my DD thought to do this for me!  There is good in Pinktober after all!!!!!!

Hugs to everyone!  I think about you all and read every day even though I don't write much lately!

love the family related pink ribbon stories! I have the same torn emotions. This year, the day care my boys go to is doing a whole pink ribbon and fundraising campaign. My hubby donated and came home proudly bearing all kinds of swag - including a giant magnet now on our fridge. And even more heartwarming - my little guys were tripping over themselves with excitement to show me their pink ribbons they decorated that are hanging up on the walls. And Tazzy I have a similar feeling when my hubby proudly walks around with his pink ribbon paracord bracelet everywhere we go. Try to enjoy the pink ladies - and be proud of your fight! Love to all. And an easy fast to those celebrating Yom Kippur today.

Exactly. My DS karate school bought pink belts for the instructors and if anyone wants to buy them they are taking 100% of the proceeds and giving it directly to a local family who is fighting the battle and could use the financial help. When he announced it I spoke up and said that its not just the families going through it but the ones who are trying to pay off the medical bills too. besides I'm proud to wear pink and show that I am a survivor!
