I have been bad at posting lately, but I have been very busy. I read all the time, but have not been good at posting. I think about all of you daily though!

My happy is that we are 95% sure we will be going to NC next week. We all need the break and I am really looking forward to bring together with my DH and kids with no real plans.

Juneaubugg were in NC will you be? If close maybe we can try to meet up again.

Hugs to all of my sisters!!!!!!

My happy for today was meeting up with 3 other ladies that I met through these boards for lunch today. Right before I left for the lunch I received a phone call that my date for reconstruction and prophylactic left mastectomy has finally been set - June 9th, 2015. Finally!

I have not been able to read and keep up as my DH and I have been fighting to  keep his damn brain cancer at bay. Due to some recent growth shown in an MRI, we are headed into kind of a scary trial in January which I hope will lead to our much needed miracle. We have been doing a lot of commuting for preliminary testing etc. Thankfully DH is doing well aside from some short term memory loss. It's funny that I was so self consumed with my bc prior to my DH's cancer  but now other than an occasional scare for which I make an appointment then cancel, I rarely think about it. I'd much rather go back to the old days though where he was healthy and I was obsessive! lol  We have learned to be grateful for each days blessings and take a lot less for granted.
But I do think about you all often but just don't have enough hours in the day to read and post. I hope you are all doing well and that you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

2Fried, so very glad that you checked in and let us know how you are getting on. When I think of my ties to this board, you are right there. Please keep in touch and know hugs are sent to you and prayers for your DH too

I am in FL visiting Dad and had the fun company of my son and daughter too. Left DH behind to earn the $$ to pay the bills :} Will go home on Xmas day and then join him on a jaunt to Vegas and meetup with Believe in Laughlin......so thrilled to meet her in person. I hope to meet many more of you too!

I hope everyone that celebrates Christmas had a wonderful one! We did. What a difference a couple of years makes. Hoping everyone is happy and healthy as we go into the New Year!

2 Fried Eggs - you have the most significant reason for not checking in very often. Hoping that you and Dh will find some comfort and answers in the New Year. You've been missed.

We are off to Laughlin tomorrow morning. We will be gone several months. Hoping the desert with have some sunshine for us. My Mom is traveling with us.

Looking forward to meeting Aruba on the 1st - what a great way to start the New Year!

I know we will all be busy enjoying our Happy!

so sorry for your problems. We found out out about my husbands cancer eight months after I was diagnosed.

As it turns out he was sicker than I was when he was taking care of me. It has been frustrating. He has Renal Cell Carcinoma. The thing about RCC is that Chemo and Radiation don't work. Who knew?

My cancer was found early because i have two sisters with BC and my Doctor was looking for it.

His was found accidentally by a dermatologist who did an X-ray, kind of on a whim.

Anyway the only thing "good" about the both of you having cancer for us has been that we pretty much know how the other one feels.

I have reacted mostly with anger. My sister who had cancer first, was diagnosed 22 years ago.

The treatment has not changed very much at all. Amputation followed by pumping toxins into your body.

I have not had the toxins only because it was found early. I don't think that is a great improvement in treatment. In fact there is no improvement in treatment. My daughter in law who has her Doctorate in Bio medical engineering does cancer research and has for 8 years. She thinks that if the real cure for most cancers is found that it won't be allowed to be used. There is not much money involved in the cure for cancer. The profit comes for the treatment of cancer. That is depressing to hear from someone who deals with it day to day.

I don't post often either but I am still here and do read all your posts. I have had the dreaded flu/cold since Dec. 23 and my physio is working on some cording issues that went unnoticed by both PS and MO recently even though they did acknowledge the tightness under my arm. It is better and I am sure that it can only improve thanks to my wonderful physio. That is my last whine for 2014~~on to a much better 2015 for all of us! Happy New Year.

Like Tazzy I post infrequently but read every time this pops up on my fav. list.

2Fried - Holding you and your DH close in prayer for a January 2015 miracle trial. Just lovely to hear from you.

Juneau - hope the New Year brings a fabulous job.

You Las Vegas ladies. Hope you are not getting snow today. Unfortunately looks like North Texas is set for an ice storm at least in places overnight tonight. No great New Years Eve plans here. DH working until 5 and then back at it at 9 am tomorrow.

2fried, I am also wishing for goodness for you and DH in this new year coming on fast.

Lucky777 You are so right. I have breast cancer again after 20 years and the treatment is the same. The thing that has changed is the pathology they do, that is more extensive, maybe for their research but not for a cure. It is disheartening to say the least. What I am hearing now is what I heard in 1995. So at least I don't have to research as much this time around.

    Aruba & Believe... You're GEORGOUS!!!!

MarianE: feeling better by now I hope?

2fried: hugs and love being sent your way... In spades.

Tazzy/websister/momof3...all above and anyone I missed:

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I don't recall who wished me a fabulous job in 2015; but if you can all pray that god sorts out where he wants me soon, as my unemployment benefits have expired and I have no consistent income anymore. I'm freaking out, my DH is calm as can be. He has more faith I guess. My dad has offered to be our safety net, but I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. I'm losing a lot of sleep, but that's about it.

Speaking of sleep. Do any if you find you can't sleep like you did before chemo. It's an ongoing problem and quite frankly ... It's driving me nuts!!! I used to be a great sleeper. Now I need sleep aids, like ZQuill or excedrin in pm. And even then it's not uninterrupted sleep. I'm up every two hours. Argh....

I'm also upset I had the last revision. The breast isn't dropping and I'm really unhappy about it.

Send me some love please ladies... I could use it.

    Xo

I fly soon today to meet DH in Grenada and now have added Gravol (diphenhydramine) to my carry on!

Hi Ladies, Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy 2015! I just got back from my trip to Vegas and Laughlin. Had a blast and meeting up with Believe was such a pleasure. Both Believe and her DH are wonderful and once you visit Laughlin you would see why she calls it Paradise

Juneau, I rarely sleep through the night anymore either..but I never had chemo. I blame it on Arimidex but Believe says her Arimidex puts her out like a light..go figure.. Keeping fingers crossed on the job hunt!

Hope everyone else is doing well and keeping busy.

Juneau I was the same way when I was laid off in 2009 and when my benefits expired. My DH was calm as can be. I went back to school but no sooner that I start working I got my DX and went out on disability. My DH has no desire for me to go back yet and we are doing ok. But whenever I stress about money I burn a green candle. I am a firm believer in the Goddess and that she will help when I need it. Stress is not good for us.

I also do not sleep the way I used to. I was a late to bed early to rise kind of girl and now if left to my own devices I'll sleep till noon! I got a Fitbit and it tracks your sleep and some nights I have more awake and restless time than sleep time. What does help is sleepy time tea. Stress probably isn't helping either.

I am keeping good thoughts for you.

To all my ladies - may this year be one of health and happiness. I know some are struggling and I know you know we are all here for you.

Aruba and Believe, I am glad you were able to meet and connect .. How wonderful.

Good luck Juneau with the job hunt ... As for sleep ... I have a white noise machine if I can't sleep, I listen to waves.
