Hope everyone is doing well. Way too quiet for too long! Please give us a quick update on how you are doing everyone! I have been busy traveling and lately with checkups. Had a physical and met with MO last week. All ok. Sounds like when clinical studies are complete, she feels Arimidex will be a 10 year plan as standard. On that note, getting a bone density scan tomorrow to see what has changed in 2 years since starting Arimidex. Had dentist appt too and next week eye dr. Then I should be good to go..I hope! Leave next week for a month with dear old Dad in Fl. Then home mid April for a quick visit to meet my new grand dog (a Morkie) in Indiana. I'll get to dogsit alot this fall when college soccer season is in gear as my daughter coaches. Then a few days later...off to Vegas to tag along as DH has a conference at the Bellagio. Even better we going to plan to go a few days early so we can drive down and have another visit with Believe in Laughlin and her hubby. We had so much fun in January, can't believe we get to visit again. A wonderful part of this BCO site..is having "met" all of you. Meeting in person is icing on the cake! Ok...take a few minutes please and catch us up on how you are doing! Hugs!!

wow. No ones posted here in weeks. Makes me a little sad; but in a happy way. We're all so busy with the work of LIVING. Asamy of you know through FB, I got a job!!! ...and I'm exhausted. It's a hour of a commute; and home takes longer most nights. They are really strict. No cell phones use at all. So I'm feeling really disconnected. But I like what I'm doing and am too busy to notice much. Lol.

Anyway, I have to start my day. I wanted to say I miss you all. I was hoping to read some updates.

My friends just had round 2 of the red devil on Monday. She's going biweekly for 4 and then taxol weekly for 12-neoadj. Her cancer tumor is different. It has spindal like trails off it that are up to 5cm, the tumor I think is 2. Trying to shrink it. It's hard to watch her suffer knowing that it's just going to get tougher as she progresses. Damn disease.

    Hugs ladies!!!

Hi my lovelies!!! Alls well here in Texas. We made it through the ice and snow the last two weeks. I am scheduled for a revision on April 16th. After my scare last year of finding another lump and all the test coming back as scar tissues as well as having a rotating implant. My PS and I have decided that I will upgrade my implants to the Ultra High Profile implants as well as remove the scar tissue and send off for pathology. He doesn't seem to think that anything is going to come of it but wants to be safe.

Taylor has the amazing opportunity to go to Hawaii next December as part of the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Her HS band is one of 4 hand selected by the Pearl Harbor committee to play at the ceremony. She is completely ecstatic over it. For her 14th birthday she is going to Washington dc for a week. I'm a bit jealous of her soon to be travels. 😀

Hope everyone is doing well. Love and miss Yall!!!

Hiya... yep way too quiet here... but it is good as Juneau said.    Not many days go past when I don't think of you all and what we have achieved.

Alls well here in sunny BC.   Work great - but busy, life wonderful - what more can I ask.

    Love & hugs xxxxxxxxxxxx

chris; when is your surgery. That's a lot work to have done, but I'm are you'll be happy with the outcome.

2nd full week at work and I'm already up 3 pounds. I want to cry. I don't have 2 hrs a day to workout. Some days I don't even have any time at all. I'm tired and frustrated. The work is good; but the hours are long ones and I'm a bit overwhelmed sat times by all there is to learn. But I know I will.. Eventually.

Has anyone heard from websister? It's been a while since she's checked in.

Juneau - congrats on the job. Hang in there - it'll get easier... Anyone out there in the age group where SOFT study (ovarian suppression and switch to AI) is relevant and talked to your MO about it? Mine encouraged me to do it but i was unsure. I met with my gyn and he suggested it too. And then I reached out to my former MO who was with me all through my treatment and she said she would absolutely suggest I do it. Feels like such an aggressive move but I guess with all that guidance I should really consider it. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat... Hugs to all.

    Hi everyone

It has been a long time since I checked in, lots happening with work, family and friends.

Loved the travel news and congratulations on your job, Juneau! Hopefully you will be able to get some workout time in your lunch hour, sounds like long days with the commute.

Ramols - wondering if there are any boards on here discussing the SOFT study?

I have a couple of friends either going through chemo or starting - the first one had four AC and is now onto the twelve weeks of taxol, two down and 10 to go. The other starts chemo on April 1st. Trying to be supportive to both.

I am booked for my DIEP reconstruction on May 22nd, I will have left mastectomy along with the reconstruction. Trying not to think about the surgery itself as it seemslike a marathon but hoping the results will be worth worth it.

Saw my MO in January and told there was osteoporosis in spine and left hip. Placed on Aromasin for 10 years and Fosamax for the osteoporosis and she wants me back to see her April 15th. So far Aromasin is much kinder to me than Tamoxifen was so 10 years may be do-able

Keeping busy otherwise with lots of work and my renewed sewing/machine embroidery interest. Paisley here yesterday, she is one and a half and wonderful!

    Life is good!

    Take care, everyone

Websister I'm 53 and am having a hip replacement in May, bone density last year showed mild osteopenia, Ortho says I'm bone to bone in left hip I also have spine problems. I say you should watch it carefully, it creeps up fast . Take care!!!

Nice to hear news from many of you. For the Canadians, I am sad that our Canadian thread was accidentally deleted. SneakyChiquita got a message from the Moderators saying it would be too costly too resurrect. Scared

Websister, lots of news from you. Would not have thought you too thin for a DIEP? But good for you~~I am not too happy with my hard implant though no doubt rads did a number to make the axillary area so hard. I just picked up my MO's Nov. report at our cancer agency and note that she remarked on it and mentioned cording. But she did not say anything about cording to me, just commiserated so I am glad I mentioned it to my PT who worked hard to break it down in December, even fitting me in for a last go before I left in January. I see him Thursday and no doubt he will get back to work on it. But for you, sorry to hear about the osteoporosis and hope the Fosamax helps.

Juneau, glad to hear about the job though it sounds like a bit of rough transition.

Chrisrenee, good luck with the revision and congrats on Taylor's trip!

Two years now on Anastrozole and hoping it is not causing osteoporosis~~too many of you seem to be developing it. Here in BC, bone density tests are only done every 3 years unless something untoward though I will bring it up at next MO appt. in June.

Tazzy, rain here today but so mild and flowers everywhere~~we are lucky are we not to live in such a beautiful province?

Hi to everyone and glad we are checking in.

MarianElizabeth - I envy you your flowers, it snowed here again today, Spring is still teasing us but blooms are nowhere near yet.

I will have DIEP on right side, I hadn't considered myself too thin for bilateral DIEP either but PS says only enough abdominal fat for one breast so implant on left side unless the Aromasin changes things ;)

Loral - thank you for sharing your experience, I will make sure I'm watched close - wishing you a successful surgery on your hip in Ma

So good to hear from those of you checking in! Sounds like everyone is busy with living the new normal - with aches, pains, etc. But living it is! Websister - I did dig around and find a handful of threads here about SOFT study but as interesting as it is to read some of the comments - none of them help me figure out what to do. My final step will be to see the head of gyn at MSKCC (my father fortunately has a work connection) and get his opinion on my best course of treatment. Then I'll take it from there - and will find my next new normal...

Otherwise - life is good. The boys are growing, and driving us crazy - but that is what they are supposed to do I hear. And we had a fantastic weekend having a fairly belated double 40th celebration with all our family and friends. Went all out and threw ourselves a giant party and we all had a blast.

Hope you're all feeling good. Good luck to those set for surgeries soon! Love and hugs!

ramols: call me. I'm talking my dr about it too. Had extensive new Genetic panel testing done. All negative. But she suggests ovarian suppression and ai. Kind of dreading it.

I'm getting used to the work hours, although exhausting, I really enjoy the work. Better get to it before I get in Trouble!!!

    Ps. Missed you websister!!!!!!

Snowed here too yesterday. Where is spring??

How can a whole thread get accidentally deleted? How sad!

I never would have made it through without all of you.

After 2 years the MO decided that my chemopause was permanent and switched me from tamoxifen to anastrazole. Hoping for lesser SEs, fingers crossed. They did a bone density test before switching, but, typical, nobody ever told me the results. Guess it was ok.

    Hugs and prayers to all.

P.S. I have enough abdominal fat for 3 or 4 new boobies now, thanks to tamoxifen, but have zero interest in any more surgery. Too bad you can't donate it to someone who needs it. LOL

hi all .. Interesting posts ... I am at weight watchers .. Finally got my head in the right place .. 6 weeks and I am down 17.4 lb. it will be slower now.

I am disappointed we lost the Canadian thread. When I asked the mods they said they hadn't realized and directed me to a different thread. They didn't respond to my second message.

The weather is decent in Ontario .. A bit cold but no snow. I am heading to Florida on Friday for 2 weeks so looking forward to the sun and the pool.

Take care all. I think of you all often, I just don't post much.

Yes Tazzy and Ireland, it's certainly been a long time. I've had the shittiest winter ever with one virus/sinus infection after another.....lol. I just want to tell you all that starting my volunteer job at our local cancer hospital was the best thing I could have done after retiring. I talk and listen to so many patients, women mostly, who have been to hell and back so when I leave the hospital I tell myself I have nothing to complain about.

Ireland, I went through a whole year of back pain, mostly upper back. What worked for me was going weekly for back massages and I would get them to massage with Magnesium oil. It took about 4-6 months but it was worth it....my back is fine now. I also get pains in my hands and when I do I use spring exercise grips and they really work wonders. I've never really had problems with my neck but maybe one of the other gals will come on with some advice.

Going to spend the weekend with Jo next week so that will be fun.

Hope everyone is well.......can't believe it will be almost three and half years since I discovered my lump....wow!!!!!

    Love you all

Ireland, are you taking tamoxifen or one of the A.I.s? They are well known for causing joint pain. I have neck, back, hand pain as well as knee, ankle, elbow, shoulder and wrist pain. MO put me on high-dose vitamin D, said it often helps, but other than that, not much suggestions. (Pain pills are not an option for me.)

Hello sisters! Yes, we've all been quiet for too long. I just spent four days with Aruba and her DH in Laughlin. They are too cute! The weather here had been in the 90's and with their visit, it not only cooled off, it rained! We will have to get them to visit us in CA next. We had a great time driving around during Laughlins famous River Run, Biker week end, only we did it in style in my convertable with the heater on. Our version of being Biker Babes.

I'm definitely part of the joint pain everywhere group. As long as the Cancer stays away - I can live with that!

Aruba and I also celebrated our upcoming 3 year cancerversary. We look forward to many more years! We will have to let our doctors in on our plans since we both check in for appts in June.

I don't write often but you continue to always be in my thoughts and prayers!

    Hugs to all!

    Aruba and believe- you're BEAUTIFUL!

    Here's my long awaited update;
I hate my boss. He's not a nice person.

Strained my back three weeks ago so no exercise, I'm in pain and physical therapy and

Moms back in hospital - kidney infection.

Oh and hubby's car died. Bought a new one last week.
BUT.... I'm cancer free and able to participate in life! Love to you all!
