Forgot who asked about exercise... but I haven't had any SEs that are related to the BC treatments from it - other then have gotten REALLY out of shape since this all began. I take the classes her at work 3 days a week and can barely keep up. I modify the pectoral exercises since I'm not cleared to work our those muscles yet. I also do 30 mins on my Bitch on the other days (or some days in addition to). For the record... I HATE EVERY MINUTE OF IT! But absolutely nothing that even makes me remotely think I'm being restricted due to the meds/chemo I was one last year. I have also gotten one of those big round balls and replaced my chair at work with it. I am hoping it will help me build up my posture (and core muscles).... I'm certainly far more aware of it anyway.
As for hair - sorry so many are no getting even growth. Mine is all filled in and in a pixie style. It's getting rather thick on top and has started to point in opposing directions. Here's a photo I JUST took. 17 weeks PFC...
mcook: like chrisrenee said -- YAY EXCHANGE DAY! I'm still shocked that your dr doens't meet directly with patients. I have spoken to my BS twice already in regard to getting my scar excised. In fact she called me on Saturday and told me it would be "fun" and that I probably wouldn't need the xanax being offered. I told her I would forgo the xanax (being a recovering addict and all - but trust me I WANT it.. JUST BECAUSE IT'S BEING OFFERED). I told her that it might be "fun" for her since she'll have the knife in her hands. She laughed and said that we'd have a night chat and it'd would be fine. And you know what... I totally believe her.
chrisrenee; I'm telling you - take the gabepentin instead of Effexor. My flashes are pretty much gone now that I'vebeen taking it for about a month. I have not had any SEs with it either. I feel GREAT... FINALLY!
I have another page to read the then I'll post again if I have time. I think I missed getting its lifies pocket for today. hope it went well though.
Tazzy; glad you liked the soup.

Thanks everyone, it really does help to hear that other people are having the same experiences. I know that's a theme that runs through these boards again and again, but it really is true. Sometimes I lose a little perspective, and coming here helps me regain it.

Sitting in waiting room waiting for eyes to dialate for eye check but can still focus so far.
Mcook thought of you today at shoulder dr. Wish you could meet him. Head of shoulder institute here. Very nice and conservative which i like. I have bicep tendonitis probably made worse from side sleeping on right shoulder with arm under pillow while protecting left breast through surgery, radiation etc. Its getting better so just letting it be and using alleve as needed and keeping cortisone shot in aresenal in case it gets worse etc. perhaps this too than a SE from BC indirectly? Enough already.0 -
Aruba - maybe I should find him:) def need to get some range of motion but living with it now and doesn't depress me as bad anymore.

Aruba and McCook - joining in on the PT thing. I have cording under the arm so my BS gave me a script. Also going to do the lymphatic massage. Hopefully that will get rid of the pain when I lift my arm up!
Juneau - I swear we can be sisters! My hair is exactly the same including the thickness on top and point bits (damn cowlicks!)0 -
Karen; maybe it's the NJ water.

Last 30 mins at work before I leave so thought I'd pop by to say hello all. Wow, cannot keep up - keeping up with everyone really is a full time job.
Hair looks great juneau. I think you look way younger with short hair than your long locks.
Mine is grey (which I am getting used to) and curly and not at all pixie looking like yours and Karen's. Am quite enjoying the curls though.
Hope I can catch up when we're all together in someones pockets.
Tomorrow I have my following up with my RO - just want him to say hots tubs are OK again.

Juneau- I will have to check it out.
Got a call from my Onc labs came back good, she wants to check them again in a month just to make sure everything is still good.
The girls looked perfect today, I was very pleased with them. I got lots of stares at them because they were at attention.
We got a new director today and on her first day already pissed me off. We were at lunch and I was telling my supervisor that my labs came back good. So my supervisor tells the dir. Christ had BC last year and has gone through the majority of the reconstruction. She now has lymphedema which is why she has to wear that sleeve on her arm. The dir looks at me and says oh I thought you were just covering up a tattoo. I said no and then tried to explain the sleeve and glove and what it does, she looks at me and says like I said I just thought you were covering up a tattoo. I said no no tattoos yet. Then I wanted to reach across and slap the shit out of her for making an assumption of what was going on. I hate stupid people.0 -
Stride....anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds are giving me a much better QOL now...perhaps discussing it with your GP for some advice.
Chrisrenee....wonderful news about your lab results .....sorry your supervisor is such a
moron.....you can't cure stupidity and ignorance either.
Tazzy good luck tomorrow with RO.
Juneau....love the hair.
Good luck to everyone going through tests, treatments and surgery this week. I'm there
with all of you.0 -
Juneau-your hair looks adorable. Best picture yet, look at you all dressed up!
Chris- glad the results were good. Getting spoiled. Not sure why we all keep worrying, see, worry must be a waste of the imagination! Surprised you didn't make up a decadent tattoo under that sleeve. Better than a slap that I'm sure you would have preferred.0 -
believe- I think we all are waiting for that other shoe to drop. I know I am, all the good then something happens. Yes I really wanted wanted to slap her. You know instead of assuming, ask I don't have any problem with answering questions. I hate people who assume the worst.

tazzy- love it!

Chrisrenee; just another perspective. It's possible your new director was very uncomfortable and felt put on the spot and didnt know what to say. OR maybe she's just an ignorant bitch. If so she's in the wrong job. ...and just wondering if youre getting any tats anytime? I have a few, but my favorite is my tree of life I got along my side under my left arm. It was a week before my diagnosis. God was telling me something.

Tazzy; love it!
Believe; thanks... I was at work. Playing on company time!😁0 -
that's a beautiful tattoo Juneau.

Juneau- I LOVE your tattoo! I actually do want a tattoo (other than the aerolas) haha. I want a 4 leaf clover on my wrist- and so does my mom and two sisters- but it has a twist. Because my mother had 3 daughter, known as the 4 musketeers, my mom would get the first clover and the stem shaded in, my oldest sister would get the 2nd clover shaded, I would get the 3rd shaded and my youngest sister would get the last shaded. It would define where we stand in our family. I also want a butterfly but the body of it would be the BC ribbon. The next ones I want are my kids and hubbys name. I currently don't have any at all.
As far as my boss I was kinda floored, because I didn't know what to say. I was also kinda shocked that my supervisor just came out with it on her first day. I guess better now than when I say I have to go out again for my next procedure either nips or just the tats.

Joanne-I specifically stayed away from the tattoo sleeves for that purpose. Although I do love them and found a few that I really like. I have two colors beige and black.
scottie- I have no confessions for this week, but the martini does sound delicious wouldn't mind trying it. haha

Joanne: those sleeves are quite beautiful. What a great idea.
Scottie: We do try you dont we ? But its such fun

Beautiful Juneau!
Love the kitty Tazzy.
Looks like the martinis are taking over the sites and it is only monday.
Joanne that is a great idea for Chrisrenee,0 -
Love the sleeves Joanne
Iatigger....you're right.....we may need a martini intervention here 🍸0 -
Thanks so much, FriedEggs for all the links. Its true, ladies, that we can take as much time as we want with the nipples. We can tatoos, paste them on and have surgery when we like as long as the insurance doesnt restrict the time. Should chk with them but my PS is ok with all of it.

As usual, impossible to keep up!
Juneau, Gapapentin seems to be working somewhat for the neuropathy though it is happening anyway the past few days. Just hope it does not get worse as I have Taxol #4 and final chemo tomorrow. However it is not keeping my night sweats at bay and some nights worse than others. And I am 63! Way past menopause but I got the S/E page for Armidex today and the male nurse with lots of cool ear piercings (did not have nose one like me) and I laughed about the fact that I already have hot flashes. Gotta have a sense of humour. At least they are only at night and not every night. I had a bone density test last week for a baseline.
Even though last chemo tomorrow I am not unduly excited so far as I know the S/E go on for weeks. Not quite like it is over! But maybe tomorrow it will hit me. My daughter is comng to make a video so that will be fun. I just need her to finish before I turn into a zombie from the IV Dex and Benadryl.
I missed the Metformin trials by a couple of weeks. Oh well, fewer S/E to worry about!
Breast Cancer team meeting on Jan. 18 agreed unanimously that my March 5 surgery plan then radiation is just fine.
Good luck to those with treatments this week and congratulations to those finished or finishing.

Marian - Wow. Congratulations on your last chemo. I AM unduly excited for you. In your pocket tomorrow. WOOHOO - Celebration time.

Chris - don't do anything to get in bad with the new boss. I'll slap her for you! All it takes is an "oh well I'm glad things are ok". But noooo the idiots have to come out to play.
Juneau - love the tat. It is really beautiful. My favorite symbol is the tree of life.0 -
Good Morning Ladies,
two more days! doing ok just want it over:)
Marian - Congrats on getting done with Chemo! Hope the next few weeks are with minimal SE for you
Chrisrenee - I am wondering why your director did not comment but I guess you can't expect everyone to respond. Maybe she went home that night and was kicking herself for not saying the right thing Nice thought right:)
Tazzy - love the photo
Did someone mention Martinis? I am in? oh shoot I can't need to behave for a few days!
Juneau - started reading that book and stayed up way to late last night because I could not put it down. It is pretty profound and dead on on a lot of things.
To everyone else I missed, Hello! and hope you are having a good day!
I am going to be pretty busy with appointments and prep stuff for next two days but I will check in as soon as I can after surgery! Please let my new Tatas look ok:) and hope I heal quickly! trying not to get to excited about it so I don't cause any bad karma but let this shit get over with. My mom, stepdad, dad, stepmom, sister, niece and DH are all coming up for my surgery. Wow this is going to be more stressfull than the surgery itself:) JK
It seem like I never get time alone anymore so I am hoping that i can kick them out soon and just stay home and relax watch a little day time TV and relax! I will keep you all that are at work on the latest Dr. OZ and Ellen highlights:) I was going to rush to go back to work but nah I am going to stay home and relax a bit and maybe fly away for a weekend if I feel up to it. Like Stride said it is hard to get back to the 24/7 life of stressful work and not think about how precious life is but dang it I need insurance and a paycheck so have to keep it up some how.
Have a good day! hope everyone is getting over the nasty bugs and SE from treatments. Big Hugs!
