McCook - Excited for you tp be getting the exchange done, relax and know that everything will be great!! I get mine sometime in March and connot wait to get these awful expanders out!

Haven't caught up yet but want to respond to

Chrisrenee; you might want to tell your supervisor that you would appreciate if she didn't tell anyone about your BC. That you will disclose it to people if and when YOU deem it necessary appropriate.

In regards to your desire for a butterfly tattoo I beat you to it. I got it five days before my UNSMX.

Juneau - beautiful tattoos. I agree re: advice given to Chrisrenee - your supervisor would be in danger of reprimand for revealing that information without consent where I work, should you decide to make an official complaint

McCook - I also was up way to late reading 'Dancing in Limbo' - to all those who haven't gotten it yet, it really is a good book, already it is helping so much. Thinking of of you over the next few days McCook, I hope you do get some of that alone time that you need after you are all settled back in following the surgery. Maybe some of the Martini's will seep through those pockets of yours

MarianElizabeth - congratulations on last chemo. I have felt like you, that it really isn't over yet but it is a very major step over and definitely worth celebrating! I hope side effects are minimal this time for you and you will be well rested and ready for surgery and radiation quickly when their time appears

I will continue to be pocket hopping this week, have a good day everyone

Juneau wow like Believe said, you are all dressed up and your hair is coming in good. You clean up REAL PURRTY as they say! lol

Believe and Layla- now this is the kind of article I like to read. I was all worried about being a little overweight and my arimidex not working as well but this study showed a little better over all survival rate for heavier people. So I'd love to stay on here but I have to catch up on some eating!!!! lol  http://www.oncologyupdate.com.au/latest-news/overweight-patients-no-worse-off-on-aromatase-inhi  ( Believe someone had posted these links relating to bmi and arimedex in another thread www.abstracts2view.com/sabcs10...   www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22... )

Layla glad you liked the tat links. I had NS but had an issue on one side that will need some "coloring" .  My PS said trying the rub-on temporary tats is fine etc but doesn't want me to do anything permanent until we are absolutely sure I'm done with all revisions . I read on one of the sites that they can randomly put some lighter ink on the scar lines to break up the scar so that it's less noticable, so I may give it more time to see how the scars heal incase I need to have some of that done too. My husband was looking thru those with me and was taken with photos from one of the sites where they injected ink into the scalp to soften the look of thinning hair and bald spots. He said maybe we can both go and get a two for the price of one done! lol

Marian-congrats on the end of chemo! Like luvmygoats said, time to celebrate!

McCook-you said it . Assuming there is no unforseen hitch in the exchange surgery, having all of those people there will be the hardest part of the whole thing! Mine was SO much easier than the mx and like many others on here, my DH and I stopped for lunch on the way home then just watched tv the rest of the day. Dh went back to work the next day and I was on my own the day after. It was actually pretty hard to "take it easy" because I did feel good. So we'll hope and pray that your's goes just as smoothly but that you will have lots of Dr.Oz and Ellen time by choice!

For those of you considering some type of body art, you may be able to get some ideas from this link(personally I like the guy covered in toothpicks -think pic 7 lol)   http://www.kirotv.com/gallery/news/weird-news/amazing-body-art-around-world/g7fG/#3058689

I'm a pocket pal this week too!

What is the risk of L/E and tattoos? Would it depend on where?

Off for the last Taxol in an hour!

Ok now I just keep getting mad as hell at this dam disease!

Of course all us know how many women have this disease but it really hits home when today I was going to pick up lunch and my town is having their annual paint the town pink for BC research fund raising and when they ask me to donate I state I already have to the event (which I have) then the manager who is ringing me up gets tears in her eyes and tells me that her daughter just was dia and starts chemo next week (age 35) and another employee says she is 1.5 years put out and having her tram surgery feb. 19th so I take off my hat and say lucky me as well (ok different words)

I talk to the mom for quite a bit and actually held up the customers but no one said a word or complained. It was comfort to run into someone that knows what the hell I am going through but pisses me off that we keep seeing another women being DIA wtf get a fucking clue on why? Food, environment, genes I don't give a shit just figure it out so no one has to have their life ripped from under them. Like I always say there are positives from this journey but not every other women has to endure this hell to learn them! My friend is attending the funeral of the women who pasted last week today. I am just mad!

I think mine is the same as Juneau's so I won't "struggle" to try and take a pic....I wish I was as savvy as some of you gals .....I'm always on my IPad....so not so easy to send pics.

Scottie- yeah, your Angels arrived. Their wings must have been tired, such a long adventure to Canada! Enjoy.

2 Fried Eggs- I'm going to turn on my computer soon and follow those links. I have to shed another 15 lbs to get out of the overweight category on my BMI calculator.

Juneau-beautiful butterfly! You are braver than I am. Have an aversion to needles. Did it hurt?

I've been baking all morning for company Thurs morning. Arimidex has taken away my sweet tooth - so I'm safe! My house smells

    wonderful.

Prayers for Lifeonitsside - keep us posted if anyone hears an update.

MCook-hang in there, it surrounds us but we can't let it define us! We are the Survivors.

Lifeonitside-hope they monitor ok and find it to be nothing!  Hang in there and keep us posted..we are with ya!

Mcook-everyone around you is wanting you to know they are there for you and all you want is some peace and quiet!  The waiting for this too can drive one batty I am sure.  Just remember that soon you will be on the other side and looking fabulous :}  Perhaps a very very long hot shower will feel good and give you some quiet time?  Hugs!

Believe, now that I am back I will surely place an order for the beautiful bracelets..will have to look back to find the website!  How special!

Had appt with MO today.  Apparently my Bone density scan showed 1 of 4 scores that showed slight ostopenia, but the comments stated I had it lumbar and spine so MO questioned the comments and did not really worry about it based on scores..and said we would retest in 2 years.  She also said I graduated and would only see her nurse asst since she sees patients in active treatment only.  She asked how arimidex was treating me and I told her so far I can live with the few aches etc.  So next appt there in 3 months and Thurs I meet with BS and get mammo....

lifeonitsside.  Thanks for checking in.  heres to those palpitations staying away.

mcook:  sorry to hear about your managers daughter - so sad and again so young.   Hope you manage to find a 'bolt hole' somewhere so you can escape and have time to you.

I will check out all the websites you've posted.  mcook... why do I think your's has something to do with running ??

Hugs to all and still jumping in pockets.   Sorry not responded to all.  I need to think about doing something for dinner.

Oh! and my RO discharged me from his care today and said the only time he wants to see me is in the community and not back at the cancer agency... woo hooo!!  and I can have a hot tub tonight.

    Hugs ladies xxx

Marian, congrats on your last Taxol. It is a milestone. May you bounce back from it fast!

Mcook, best wishes to you, and for your surgery prep. Those people are all coming because they love you so much. Put them to work, and let them spoil you. It will keep them out of mischief - lol.

Tazzy, so glad you reached the finish line - enjoy the hot tub!

    Best wishes to everybody else!

Thanks lieife and all the rest of you~~we went through lots on 2012 and now 2013. No bells at our chemo center but that was OK with me. My daughter did some videoing so may be able to post it some day soon she edits it down to a couple of minutes. Now deciding on what I really want to eat that will taste half decent and am even thinking of a glass of wine just to celebrate.

Yay for the end of chemo!

    Yay, Marianelizabeth!!!

Tazzy - one way to like running is to sign up for a race. Tell yourself - and mean it! - that you don't care about time, you just care about finishing on your feet and with a smile on your face. I did that with my first race 7 years ago and I was hooked. Getting that finishers' medal is really something!

My daughters and I ran a marathon last year with that motto and we had a wonderful time. We trained for it all year and corresponded via e-mail and phone almost daily. Not only did we keep tabs on our training that way, it added a wonderful dimension to our relationship. I'm a lot older than you (64) so I use the tagline 'old, slow, and persistent' for all my racing. It keeps my expectations - and everyone else's - low! An added benefit? For many races, all I have to do is show up and finish and I win or place in my age group:-)

Consider the Galloway run/walk method (http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/index.html) It changes up your muscles and you build in walks by time rather than waiting until you get tired (when you're behind the curve).

I have been having some dental problems .... I have had 2 root canals since the new year. My dental plan covers $1750 per year and as of Friday I had already spent $2750. I still need 2 crowns. Today I went to my dentist to have her do the permanent filling in the 2 nd root canal. When I was making the other appointments, the receptionist told me that it was no charge. The dentist was there. I said no I can pay you. The dentist said you have had a lot this last year and we still have crowns .... I am just paying it forward. WOW ....

What a wonderful person and wonderful gift for her to give me. I am so grateful for her kindness and generosity.

Wow Joanne ! That is so awesome! Made tears come to my eyes that someone did that for you!

I am signing up or should say applying to that link to the event and I hope I get accepted! It ask you to tell what defines you? Tell about yourself etc I am horrible at writting these things so hope they can read between the lines because at times my written communication does not come across the true meaning of what I was trying to type:)

I hope I get accepted! Who cares if I have to walk the whole dang thing! It is about the experience not the time :)

Ask my DH to describe me LOL not a good choice :)

Congrants Marian- that is a freaking awesome feeling!!
