Ladies.
so sorry u all are experiencing such a blizzard. Stay warm and safe. I will think of u tomorrow when I am at Sea World in the 80 degree weather. I knew there was a reason I lived in Florida. Feel good today so I plan to splash Shamu and be glad I am alive.
HUGS Sheryl0 -
So much going on in this thread!
To all that are experiencing the bad weather, stay safe and warm
McCook - hope the eye infection clears up quickly
Scorchy - I'm 'websister' - Laura (kind of close to LaKorcha)
Liefie - Happy Birthday to your DH
Scottie - can't wait to see your snow lady0 -
Scorchy: that is such great news about your pain management. When needed, I am a great believer in accupuncture. Just seems to get my ying and yang in balance.
liefie: laughed hard at your post... with the madonna boobies.
OK ladies off to bed. Hope you on the East are safe and warm.
Goodnight, sleep tight and chat tomorrow.

llr- speak up and say whatever you want. I can promise you won't offend anyone here, even if you try real hard. What part of Tx are you from?
going to brag for a minute or so
Went to dinner with one of my BF's and our daughters, then went to my son's basketball game. It was a rough 1st half then they decided to show up to the game in the 4th period. At the start of the 2nd 1/2 we were down 21-12 (us). At the start of the 4th period it was 25-16(us) 3 mins before the end of the game we had gained to 32-31(us). Score then went to 34-33 down to the last 20 seconds we had one play left and my "other" son set up for a 3 point shot that he missed and my son stephen was under the goal rebounded and made the winning basket for a score of 34-35 (us). I was shaking, screaming, and jumping up and down I was so excited. As he made that shot and the buzzer sounded the entire gym erupted in screaming and yelling my son's name. Boys chest bumping high fiving and my son even got a piggy back ride from the locker room as his team was cheering him on. Just wanted to share my proud momma moment!

You gals are just too funny.......BTW....I have NO TIME to make snowmen or women
with or without bras.....first of all I'm 65....have mercy....secondly I live on the 22 nd
floor.....my arms don't quite reach to the bottom....BUT most importantly I'm too busy keeping a watching eye 👀 here on those who think they can pull a fast one .....not mentioning any names of course!!!!!
I have a hair appointment this morning at 10:15 and we have so much snow on the ground.....It's about a twenty minute walk usually but I was just thinking that if I start out now I could get a few snow"people" made along the way. Ok ...going to drag out all my old bras (of which there are many now) and get going.......lol
Mcook....hope that eye clears up soon.
Chrisrenee.....what a happy moment for you....as a mother of two boys (grown now of course) I've had that moment a couple of times myself.....I wish many more for you.
Scorchy, I would like to PM you about pain management later today, if that's ok with you?
LaKorcha........welcome....as Tazzy says...."the more the merrier".
Liefie.....too funny...thanks for my morning chuckle.
Tazzy ....as always....you make me laugh.
I'm going to spend a few days with Jo at her cottage during March break....may be
we can build that snow person together and she can teach me how to post pictures.
I do everything on my IPad and I'm not so savvy when it comes to posting pics.
Have a great weekend all....❤0 -
PS....Iatigger.....fingers and toes crossed for you.

Hello
I hope everyone in the East is safe today!! Stay warm and safe today! Hope you have electricity.
Went back to my eye doctor today and he scared me. Have a open sore on my eye and drops are working but not as well as he would like to see. I got back at 9 tonight:( sad I was at risk of losing my eye! I can handle my boobs but not my vision! He is optimistic but concerned. Dam it! Atleast I went in yesterday because I almost waited because since chemo I have had dry eyes but this just seemed different than that so we caught it early.0 -
chrisrenee: You boast away - what a feeling that must've been for you. Love the life/lemons post too.... another for the fridge.
Joanne: that is more than enough snow for mid-February.
Scottie: excuses, excuses.. ha ha ! Just wanted you out the way for a while so we could eat yummy food and have a glass of wine without your watchful eyes on us
Saw this a little late.... but still made me laugh.

Warm wishes and electricity to all of you on the East Coast! I can't imagine that any of you braved going to work yesterday. Stay inside, it looks brutal on TV.
Scottie- just draw us a snow woman.
MCook - rest that eye! My DH got hit by a rock mowing our lawn, a while back. Doctors kept saying impressive injury! Very scary but they also said, eyes heal very quickly, that is how man has survived. He recovered completely. I pray they are correct and that your eye repairs itself and quickly.
Scorchy - my name is Laurie.
Christenee - congrats on your sons great achievement! I can hear you screaming from here.
Hugs to all. Make it a great day!0 -
Wow what a great butterfly tatoo! Hate needles so I wont go there. but, will have to brave it out for the areola tatoos. Surg in July then gotta wait for that to heal. Re building our bodies takes so long. Does anyone ever get frustrated with the wait?
So I had the head director move me to another cubicle at work, cause the co worker was gagging me with his cologne,my dr had put me on asthma meds but partly for the capsular contract and then I got a sinus infection.
I was there with one neighbor across the hall and now they filled in all the cubes with girls who break the rules and use plug in oil air fresh. Gosh if your cube stinks maybe you should clean it! So I posted outside my office article about cancer causing Febreze. Now I just threw away 3 bottles of sunscreen found they contained cancer causing agents. Thx Montsanto but we dont need any help getting cancer! Happy superbowl and by the way, got any snow? I want to borrow some cause we are fresh out in FL. (I am so rude and ashamed of myself, cant believe I posted that! but seriously you up north folks be careful and keep shovels and blankets and flairs in the vehicle)

Scorchy, glad about the injections and eventual pain relief after!
So much snow for so many of you; some days maybe the rain on the west coast is preferable.
Chrisrenee and Tazzy, there is a lot of confusion about staging but in my books, Intelligent Guide to Breast Cancer, and Dr. Susan Love's Breast book, simply having positive nodes does not make it a "b." To be a IIIb it seems that you would have to have an ulcerating or fixed tumour unless the nodes are in some different categories. Staging is basically built on T's, N's and M's.
Mine for instance is T2 for 2-5 Cm and N2 for my 6 positive nodes (so far) which were both fixed axillary and internal mammary nodes, one of them completely taken over by a mestasasis. So according to that (and what my doctor says in adding up T+N I am IIIa. But Tazzy maybe there is something different in your nodes, otherwise with >5 cm and 3 nodes it looks like IIIa?

marian: had to chuckle about your post. I read Dr. Susan Love's book... was my bible through chemo... for the life of me I do not remember that about the staging being T, N & M. All I know is how my onc explained it to me about my axilliary nodes being involved.
Layla: people can be so selfish... maybe you should suggest a perfume/scent free building.

llr- Very close to me, I'm in Pilot Point north of Denton.
Marian- I knew that it was based off of T's N's and M's. because I did not have any lymph node involvement I am only T2 2cm tumor. I know it sounded like a stupid question and i appreciate the responses. I love that i can ask a stupid question and not be judged on it.
Thank you all for the nice comments about my son's victory last night. I was very excited and so was he. Love you all for the support!

Can't believe how fast this thread is moving - wow!
First off, Scorchy, I am so happy for you that your pain management is working, and that you can come off that other stuff. Makes me really sad when somebody is in pain, and has to suffer.
LaKorcha, you are just as welcome here as anybody else. Your name sounds quite exotic and unique.
Chrisrenee, congrats on your son's achievements. If life gives you a box of lemons, you are making lemonade all the time, right? That's the kind of person you obviousy are with your excellent sense of humour.
DH took the wind completely out of my sails last night. I organized the birthday party for him purely because I wanted to thank him for his love, loyalty and support. When the guests began to arrive, everyone was wearing something pink, and most of them came bearing a bunch of pink flowers. . . turns out he had phoned everybody and asked them to do that in my honor. I didn't want this to be about me (certainly had enough of that this past year!), but about him. In his quiet, unassuming way he never fails to amaze and surprise me even after almost 34 years of marriage. My house looks like a pink flower garden this morning, so beautiful with all the flowers, and I feel very loved this morning. It also feels so good that I had the energy and strength to prepare all the food myself, and to enjoy the party.
Blessings, LOL!!!
Have a good weekend everybody! East coasters, I hope you have enough shovels . . .

Blessings love the snow women ...
Liefie what a wonderful thing your husband and your friends did ... You truly are very much loved.0 -
Liefie - what a great DH and friends! I'd say you are loved and blessed.

liefie- I try to have a sense of humor about everything. I have laughed (almost) every day through my diagnosis. I didn't want it to beat me. Your post made me cry! Your husband is so thoughtful to have everyone honor you on his day. What a sweet man you have and 34 years of marriage, you must be doing something right. Did you and he have a good time last night?
Just for you Liefie

Chrisrenee, laughter is indeed the best medicine, and it definitely sustained me too. My son who lived with us during the drama last year, would come into the kitchen every morning, and ask me, 'So Mom, how's your cancer today?' Then we would all laugh, and the day would start on a happy note. We had a wonderful time last night. Thanks for asking, and thanks for the picture too. You are so sweet, Chrisrenee!

Would love to see that field of pink flowers, liefie. Nice!

Marian, I'm embarrassed to admit it, but if I was not so technologically challenged, I would take a photo of all the flowers, and post it here. It is something to behold. Still shaking my head.

liefie, we are heading over to the island tomorrow to visit friends near Comox who are escaping Edmonton weather but also to stay with friends near Black Creek, west of Comox but I think you are way farther north?
