Liefie:  how beautiful of your husband and friends – brought a tear to my eye too.   He must love you so very, very much.

    Blessings:  love the snowman joke.

Chrisrenee:  I am with you on the laughter.   I know for sure it helped me through last year.

Marian:  have a wonderful trip to the Island.   We have friends who live in Black Creek – absolutely stunning part of this world.

Off out to meet friends for supper tonight – of course I will only have salad

    Hello ladies

Man again I can't keep up

Liefie- your husband sounds amazing what an awesome thing he did for you!

Chrisrenee - I never actually got my official staging from doctor until way later but still confused on all that at times. So not a bad question to ask because I learned too!

    Tazzy- have fun a dinner

Well I on the other hand have been not good with diet today. Having chips amd salsa for dinner, had a bloody Mary for mid lunch snack and now having a beer. Opps

My eye was scratched by my dog a few weeks back and because I wear contacts we assume it did not heal and got infected. Back to doc tomorrow because not getting better so this is my weekend! My best friend is an eye doc but she is away from here so she is concerned as well so scaring me:( but hopefully it heals fine and I will be good to go. Just have a little headache from wearing my glasses all day.

The local eye doctor here is awesome, I really like him. So that is good!

Well hope everyone is having a good weekend! I am guessing some of our east coast ladies are dealing with the weather issues but I hope to hear from them soon and hope they are ok:)

Tazzy, Hope you enjoyed that salad! My eating patterntoday was not so pure, a few friends and I cooked a fundraiser dinner for 250 people today- had to taste what we were serving! Glad to be home and off my feet.

Scottie, I knew you would look behind my knitting bag. Tonight I am having my glass of wine right out in the open.

Scorchy, glad the pain management is going well and hope you aren't snowed in.

Chrisrenee, I am with you on the humor- if we can't keep laughing, sometimes it is hard to see why we want to keep living. I know breast cancer sucks but it has some hilarious moments too. Congrats on your son's big score. So exciting.

    Lifie, your husband is wonderful!

Mccook, like you needed eye trouble? WTF! Hope it clears up quickly.

Well, we are finally digging out from under all the snow we got!!! Walking to the hairdressers yesterday, I felt I really needed snow shoes!!!! But the sun was out and I could feel some warmth coming from it....could spring be round the corner? ...oh, I do like to dream....lol

Tazzy....salad?????...you trying to suck up here?...😇

    Cowpower....👀

I think it's so much harder in the winter to control what we eat....I'm all about "comfort food".....no Tazzy no beer and wings!!!!!!.....lots of low fat soups, chicken and vegetable

casseroles.....salmon casseroles etc....somehow salads don't appeal the same when it's so cold and wintery outside, that's just me.

Mcook ....hope that eye starts to heal soon.

Liefie....as I said on another thread...one of my favourite stories is the "Gift of the Magi"

Your husband sounds so wonderful, and you too❤...can't imagine what you are going to do for each other on Valentine's Day????? Hope you will share...lol

Scorchy....hope that pain management is still under control.

Ireland....fingers and toes crossed for you

Blessings I also loved the snowman joke ....I do really need to get off this IPad and onto

my computer and learn how to post pictures....

    Marian.....enjoy that trip.

Have a great Sunday everybody.....I see laundry in my future...😜

salad... ha ha ha ha!!   Here's what I ate which isn't that bad eh?   Italian wedding soup, one piece of bread, seafood linguine with a salad and NO dessert.   So not to bad in my mind.

Hope you east coasters are digging out and are all safe and warm.

Busy day for me I think.  Painting base boards for our bathroom, cooking some lunches for next week - all healthy of course.

Thanks everybody for the kind words re my DH. Just don't think that he or we are perfect or anything like that, not by a long shot. We each have our 'danger' zones, sometimes will have heated arguments, and be angry with each other, but we quickly forgive, forget and move on. I'm embarrassed to admit that he is better at that than me. Guess the bottomline is respect, trust in each other, and accepting those differences that are never going to change. For me those three equal love. Enough said; don't want to paint myself into a corner here - LOL.

Scottiee1, I think we've done enough to last us for a while now, hey?

Marian, yes, we will meet up soon. Looking forward to that! Have a wonderful visit on VI.

Mcook, I sincerely hope and pray that your eye will be okay. You don't need another setback.

Tazzy, enjoy the painting and cooking today before the week starts again. I'm having a lazy day. Will make something for dinner, maybe take a walk with the dog later, read, watch TV. Will get going again tomorrow.

Hi everyone..I have been away a few days and feel like I have missed chapters on this thread...I love how active everyone is and how everyone checks in and says whats up...truly feels like family here Laughing

First off Scorchy, to add to the name forum..I'll add to the unique list.  My name is Rossya

Hope the eye is better Mcook!

Hope all the Nemo survivors are ok and everyone if feeling ok with minimal SE from treatments...

Lifie, my DH bday was Friday too!  3 of my best friends take getaway weekends now and then and last year got messed up because of my dx.  Then one of the gals moved from Cleveland to Charlotte, NC.  Well, they were all free this weekend and hard with their schedules to find a weekend that worked, so we met half way at a casino in West Virginia..lol.  We had a great time, I drank Lemondrop martinis, ate biegnets hot with powdered sugar,  had bread and chicken marsala and enjoyed every drop and bite and we celebrated our friendships and all that has transpired since this crap happened last year.  Back on the wagon with Salmon and salad for dinner...

I did, however,  feel bad for leaving my hubby on his birthday, he was great about it and said, go celebrate that you have friends, you feel better from the dizzies and you are able to celebrate with people that care.  So ...I did something we used to do with our kids and made him a scavenger hunt with clues.  It started with a happpy birthday balloon with clue one when he walked in from work and I had already left. After having clues to treadmill (we both attempting to get fit), shower, play a game of hearts on computer, watch a show he likes etc..he was told to open up the basement fridge for a treat from edible arrangements.  He loved it and when I got home today, there were even roses for me :}   I'll try to post some pics  and see if I can do it.

Aruba . . . Rossya - what a beautiful, exotic name! Wonder where your parents found that one? Good for you on enjoying a wonderful, relaxed weekend with your friends, and your DH's unselfish attitude about it. Many husbands would not have liked at all to be left alone on their birthdays, but then you went out of your way to make it nice for him too with your scavenger hunt. What a good idea - may try that myself sometime. You guys really sound like a fun couple. Hope you can post the pictures. You will be way better than me in that department if you can do it - LOL.

Mcook, can't wait to find out where you land!

Tazzy, I just painted my bathroom base boards and new wainscoating. My dh and I then stenciled an allover pattern on the walls above. Came out nice, but we were exhausted when it was done. It is amazing what seems like exercise sometimes.

Ireland, it is wonderful that you honor Ursula.

Scottie, I see laundry in my future also. The problem isthat it was supposed to be in my present.

Mcook, go for it! Nothing like sun, sea, sand and a change of scenery to make you feel better. Enjoy the break, and come back with renewed energy.

    Ireland, hugs to you!

Aruba, keep on trying - lol.

Keeping up with this thread is like a full time job.  You guys are so active!  I know this is going to sound crazy, but I'm kind of jealous of those who are getting all that snow.  I want some snow down here.  Okay, maybe just five inches, but I want some snow.  I hope everyone is able to dig out of it safely.

Mcook I think you should definitely go on a trip.  You deserve to relax and regroup.  I hope your eye heals soon.

    Ireland- Hugs...

Cowpower-Great news!  That was so nice of your radiologist to read your mammo for you while you waited.  Looks like I get my mammo after all.  I thought I had talked my BS into waiting a few more weeks, but looks like I get to go tomorrow for my first mammo after finishing up all my treatment.  I didn't think I would be so scared to get a mammo, but I am.  Now I see why some of you guys opt for the BMX...

Scorchy- I'm glad they could do something to help you with the pain management.  That's wonderful.

hmmm, reading about all these mammos makes me think someone's dropped the ball on getting me scheduled for one. I'm three and a half weeks post final radiation. Not that I look forward to having my poor breast squeezed again, but, you know... Guess I'll get on the phone.

It is a fulltime job to keep up on all the threads. between this and 2012 sisters it's a bit confusing too. or i that my chemo brain? Speaking of chemo-brain - We are almost completely out of propane to heat our house. It's 20°F (-7°C). argh! If I don't write down a note to check something like that, I am spacey enough to let it go far too long like this. Hopefully the oil company truck will make it here this AM. We still have electricity though so I may be faring better than some of you digging out of snow.

Tazzy, good idea about the bldg,we could get it on the list of rules,Problem is nobody enforces the rules! Except my mgr on her own staff, ugh! Heres a link to 2009 cancer statistics, wonder if there are any more recent ones? http://seer.cancer.gov/statfacts/html/breast.html#risk

A super quick way I make seafood linquini, I buy the Aqua Star seafood medley package, one pack of Barilla Plus protein enriched spaghetti, and 1 packet of the Campbell's Skillet Thai Green Curry sauce. Cook as directed on the packages, mix it all together, add a loaf of bread, salad, and a bottle of wine and its Valentines dinner!  Candles and lingerie optional.

Aruba sounds like you all had a great time. Hope you didnt lose too much money in the slot machines.

    aruba: LOL!  Love it!

JUST finished catching up from the weekend.  (I'm exhausted from reading now!)  But jsut wanted to say a couple things.

MCOOK: take care of your eye and go get some sunshine... just make sure you're eye is ok first.  Don't want to be far away and have another problem that requires medical attention.

lifie - your marriage sounds perfectly flawed... hope me and mine make it to 34 years.  We got married 3 1/2 years ago so we'd be 75 by then....  It's like we say in my 12 step program.   "If you want to get some clean time - just don't pick up, and don't die!" In this case only item #2 applies.

So I had a good weekend - was BUSY.  Spent Saturday cleaning out the clutter at my house since I was snowed in. (well not really, DH shovelled me out before he left for work and we were spared with only around 10 inches by me) but fuck it was cold and crappy so I stayed in, cleaned and made my DH his loaf of bread for the week (and I didn't eat even a slice).

Sunday I was super busy with my home group 12 step meeting and then working with a sponsee.  I ate really well and even exercise for 45 minutes that night.  Hope the scale starts to cooperate.  I started to feel CRAMPY last night so I took some Aleave and sure enough - this morning I GOT MY PERIOD!  First time since August.  Cramps are nightmarish and trying to make it through my work day.  But I used to always show a drop in my weight each month AFTER my period... so now I'm hopeful that this will be the week.  (I didn't get on my scale Sunday and was down .4).  I forgot how much this bleeding thing SUCKS!!!

well - thanks for letting me share (TMI I now).

oh - chrisrenee:  YAY on your sons athletic prowlness!

Tazzy; I KNEW you weren't eating a salad.  It took 2 pages to get to the punchline, but who are you kidding!?

to all I missed, I'm sorry but by the time I get to the end of reading I can' remember half of what I wanted to say! chemo brain or just short term memory loss due to old age?  :-|
