Welcome luvBhgGma...you've found a great bunch of gals here that will make you want to check in often!
Hey how does one go back to read original posts? I can only see say the last 12 or so....also is anyone else having issues signing on from I phone? I log in with proper username and password but it takes me to fromt page of forums with the log in again in upper right corner. Have tried and even retrieved password to make sure nothing had changed (it is same). No problems at all on desktop...even sighned off here to see if that helps Iphone to no avail Never had this problem before??

Aruba - I had the same problem with my iPad. What worked for me was to go to settings, then general and then to privacy (under general) and accept cookies from sites previously visited. It worked for me. Hope it works for you!
Thank you for the donation you made in my name. BC.org sent me an acknowledgement letter.0 -
Happy Valentine's Day to you all!
Stride, that anger stage is going to wax and wane--embrace it and curse the shit out of that motherfucker!

Sonya,
I have two down two to go. Number 3 is next Thursday 2/21. I feel good today thank goodness. Usually have about 5-6 days before the next chemo when I feel pretty good. The SEs are calm just a bit tired and still have swelling from the taxotere. Thanks for all the well wishes from everyone.
Hugs, Sheryl

Was looking for quotes at the end of the day for some positive inspiration... Found something that made me think of all of you - the home we've created and the family we've built on this site:
"Hope is like a road in the country. There never was a road; but when many people walk together, the road comes into existence." ~ From the National Organization for Rare Disorder, Inc.

Hi everybody....Happy Valentine's Day to everybody....sorry but I'm too tired to post individually. My younger son spent most of the day in Emerg.......not sure yet what's going on!!! His ECG was not quite "normal" so they want him to see a cardiologist.
He was born with a slight murmur but our GP said he could not hear it anymore...
that was when he was about 8yrs....perhaps that is what's showing up. I'm a little
"Drained at the moment" so hope to catch up later. ❤❤❤0 -
Ramols - love the quote, very appropriate
Scottie - sending hugs and prayers your way, rest up0 -
Scottiee; sending positive vibes your way... And a BIG HUG!!!

Luvgma- welcome to our family! And yay on your MRI results. I can imagine how great that must feel!
Websister- I'm glad your doing ok. I must have missed that post as well. Did you get out and kick some ass?! I always feel Luke I can take on the world when my adrenaline kicks in.
Scottie- hoping everything is good with your son, keep us updated love!
Ramols- great words for today. I love coming here it brightens my day.
Got a strange question for you all. Since I've been on femara (letrazole) I have noticed that I have new facial hair growth rhat is white or possibly grey. Is that one of the SE's or just one of my damn luck this shit is happening to you?? I have noticed that my eyebrows have more grey than Brown lately. Almost considering going in to get my hair colored again just so I can get those damn things the same color. Is this or has this happened to anyone else??0 -
Scottiee, hope you find out soon what's going on. Get some rest tonight.
Ramols, thank for the quote - certainly appropriate, and touching.

So I'll just say Happy Valentine's Day, and nighty night...

Ramols and Scottie,
Great quote, together we can do anything.
Scottie hoping that your son's issues are minor and you get some rest from the worry and stress.

Hi ladies....thank you all for your kind words...will catch up with everybody this weekend
BTW...my lovely valentines, the weigh in this time includes number of chocs eaten yesterday..😈.....remember confession is good for the soul.😪0 -
Scottiee; only one chocolate truffle at the Thai restaurant, but sticky rice, curry and noodles... Certainly over my 1000 calories a day. I go out to a VERY pricey place tomorrow with dad, and a Fondue place I've been wanting to try for years Tuesday with mom. Celebrate my birthday Wedsnesday... Not expecting much loss this week, but will keep exercising. Was saying yesterday how last year a birthday was something to dread... Getting OLD right? But now, after my cancer dx every birthday is a milestone against this fucking bitch. It's an opportunity to say FUCK YOU BREAST CANCER! So I'm going to TRY to celebrate getting old for now on. My body has already fallen apart anyway, right?
Happy happy ladies!
I'll weigh in soon.0 -
Scottiee, So sorry to hear you are having "son stress." It is so much easier to deal with a problem when it happens to us and not them, I find. I hope all is resolved soon. ((Hugs))) Six hersheys kisses for Vday, plus one small piece of dark chocolate- I do feel better confessing and nothing is hidden in my knittting bag, nothing big, at least.
Chrisrenee, I have the same experience. My hair and eyebrows do not match and my eyebrows came back a combination of a lighter brown and grey. When they left, they were a dark brown and very heavy. I might even like them better now when I get used to them. My hair, however, is coming in like a black/ white dog hair- what my father used to call "shit brindle" for some reason.... Geeze...0 -
Scottiee, good wishes coming your way! That is scary to say the least!
Weigh in...no surprise here with eat and drink a thon with the girls last weekend and a few chocolates too...up 2 to 170...and even walked 3 miles a few times this week to fight back.

Scottiee...hope everything turns out to be nothing serious! Hugs to you!
Chrisrenee...Many of us had that white fuzzy stuff grow in along with our hair. Some used Nair and some of us just shaved it off...I had to do it 3 times in over a year so wasn't that drastic. It's kinda like the white baby fuzz you get on your head when the regrowth starts. It seems to disappear over time! My eyebrows got darker over time as well. Hang in there kiddo...

Scottiee hope everything turns out alright for your son. Sending good vibes your way.
Ramols love the quote.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day and Scottiee I thought those chocolates were calorie free! Man am I in trouble!

cowoo and schatzi- thank you. It's just very irritating, I tend to pluck them as I'm cussing. I didn't have chemo or anything so I didn't want to compare it to hair loss but it's a very fine white hairs that grow back. It makes me feel like the elderly women who have hair growing out a mole and people can't take their eyes off of it. Ha
Tazzy- I have stayed the same no drop in weight. Ugh
Scottie- here's my confession for the week. No chocolate (only craved that when I had my period) BUT I did have 2 pieces of pecan pie so I made up for the no chocolate. I'm already standing in the corner waiting for my lashes from you.
Love and hugs0 -
Good morning ladies! Hope everyone enjoyed Valentine's Day and indulged in something sweet.
Boy, miss a day here and it takes a long time to get caught up.
Scottiee...hope all goes well with your son. I am in the same boat at the moment with our 24 year old daughter who lives in Alberta. She fainted at work and was taken to emerg. The ECG showed a slight abormality and she sees the Cardiologist March 1. Trying not to worry, but still am. She says she feels good and no further episodes. I might have to go out there and see for myself.
Have a wonderful weekend and to quote Ramois, find some happy!

Tazzy 161.8 this week.
Scottie - hope your son is better! Sending prayers and positive thoughts. I had a sample chocolate truffle at Costco.0 -
Scottie and Tazzy - mad at myself for not having more chocolate yesterday! - I was so good all week - even our weekend away - had my usual one small piece of dark chocolate last evening, was in the chemo department yesterday afternoon so postponed special dinner to the weekend. Scale says I'm up .6 lbs this a.m.!!!!
Hoping it is just water retention from the Herceptin infusion. Disappointing but I have to believe that all this effort will eventually pay off.0 -
Good Morning!
I started my official training yesterday for my marathon. Only walked but did 45 minutes! Man what the heck was I thinking LOL
Car accident Websister! Boo glad you weren't hurt
Juneau- hope today is better for you! I haven't got mine back and I kind of hope I don't.
So here is the deal ladies- if you are interested join my team! I want you by my side! I should find out my route today but regardless you can sign up as part of my team and all you do it walk/run any distance on the route that the team does! Could be awesome if everyone could come to the kickoff in DC as it is going to be epic! You just have an option of signing up and raising donations with me as part of my team! But also get to be a part of this amazing experience! My team should be called 2013 sister because without all of you I would not have the courage or drive to do this! I am excited but nervous about the marathon and I would have never signed up for this if I didn't believe that this organization above and beyond cancer has their sole moto on life after cancer and they advocate for research, policies and work with live strong, America cancer society and other organizations to fight for rights of cancer patients, research etc! Check out their website, above and beyond cancer.org.
Think about it! I want you by my side! I can't think of doing this without all of you! I kept thinking of people to ask to join my team , family, friends but in my heart I know that I am doing this for all of you! You have inspired me this year with your courage and love and attitude! You all are so amazing!0 -
Tazzy, I did post this yesterday, but will do again in case you did not see it; I know you are very busy at work. Weight is 158 lbs, down 2 lbs, I think. A bit frustrated at the moment because I'm not allowed to do any exercise due to the eye surgery. Will be back at it with a vengeance next week.
Outdamnedspot, sending many good vibes to your DD in Alberta, and hope she will be fine. I have 3 children living there, and one never ceases to be concerned over them, even when they are well. It is so true what they say about children: The day you have a child is the day your heart starts walking around outside your body.
Mcook, YOU are amazing, and I hope you get many people to walk/run with you. Won't be joining you as I am in Canada, but will follow your progress. You go girl!!!

Thanks Liefie for the good vibes. It's true, no matter where they are or how old, moms still worry about their kids.
When I was diagnosed at age 56 in August 2012, I dreaded telling my mom who is a fit and healthy 77. But she is a worrier and sometimes her anxiety is a bit much, but that's her. So, I went to her house and broke the news. And she seemed to take it well, no tears. I wasn't home 15 minutes and she called and then later that night, the next day two or three times and on it went for a for quite a few days. She showed up at my home and work to make sure I was ok. She calmed down as soon as I saw the BS and got a date. I know she is still worried, but that's a mom's job.
Where are your kids in AB? DD is in Banff.
Mcook...I agree, you are amazing. Maybe our GTG could be at the kick-off to your event?

Outdamnedspot, two of my children live in Edmonton, and one in Calgary.
I never told my mom about my diagnosis, because she is in a frail care facility, and this would have been too much for her to handle. She doesn't really recognize me anymore. Enjoy your mom, and make lovely memories while she is still fit and healthy. They are so precious. My mom was a healthy, fiercely independent 78 when she was diagnosed with a slow-growing brain tumour after an 'epileptic' episode. Her life changed dramatically overnight, because she immediately had to move to a care facility, and was not allowed to drive her car anymore at all. She had a very hard time accepting this, but by now she has deteriorated and weakened to the point where she can do nothing for herself anymore, and the fighting spirit is gone too. Sad to see and experience.
