liefie...so sorry to hear about your Mom...mine was also in long term care with Alzheimers and my Mother-in-law as well but she didn't have dementia. She just lost her will to live when she needed so much care due to being in a wheelchair. It's a sad part of life but we can enjoy them as much as possible while they are with us.
Sorry didn't mean to lecture...

Hey ladies
Some of you I recognize from other threads but just saw this one and thought I'd sign on. I was dx'd June 24, 2012 my treatment is ongoing still as you can see by my tag line at the bottom lol but I'm GOING TO KCA. So I'm a survivor.
I haven't read thru any of the posts yet just wanted to say hi first.
Hope everyone is doing as well as can be!0 -
Hi Shianne and welcome...saw you on the Canadian thread. Where in ON are you from? Yep, some of us are all over the place and while I tend to be more of a 'lurker', I do post once in awhile.
Thanks girls for sharing about your moms. Some days I need a kick in the a** as I tend to be a bit huffy with her at times. Then I always feel like shit after. I need to get over it...you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Hi Ladies,
Scottie: sending positive mojo your way for your son.
Welcome Shianne - to our SURVIVORS club.
mcook: when is your coasttocoast marathon... maybe we should look at a retreat in one of those areas to be with you a bit of the way. Just a thought.
Weigh in - I'll post all later, I have no bloody movement. But then really I didn't expect to - beer, wings, wine ?? What kinda diet is that.
OK .. boss alert - will check in over the weekend and post our weights.
Big Honking Hugs to you all xxxx

Hi been a crazy ass day here with work etc so just stoping by and saying, hi!
Eye still screwed up but oh well!
Tazzy- I was going to mention it could be a great place to meet so once I get the details exactly where I am running I will let everyone know!
Back to work for one week and already need a dam vacation freaking hard drive failures on a Friday afternoon! Try finding that part on a Friday! Impossible! So off to work I go to manually watch the wind:) god I need a new career with less stress! Mc Donald's application going in tomorrow!
Love the pic Tazzy! As I am starving and have no time to cook!0 -
Welcome Shianne! This is a wonderful group of ladies.
Tazzy I am down to 213. Looking to kick up the exercise and hoping my growing muscles don't mess up the weight loss. LOL Also love the pic!
Mcook, I am right there with you and the work week from hell. If I saw a job available that looked interesting I would take a serious look. WalMart greeter sounds pretty stress less. Looking forward to finding out he dates you will be running through.
Scottie, positive thoughts coming your way for your son.
Have a great evening ladies.0 -

Tazzy, that is funny - lol!
Just heard from my PS that my DIEP flap surgery is scheduled for May 21. Was hoping to get it done in April so that I could recover before summer, but I'll take it. I have a suspicion that my PS is pregnant, because she is going off for a few months starting in June. Better get that surgery done before she leaves.
Welcome, Shianne, and nice to hear from you too, Marcie!
Scottiee, any news of your son?

Outdamnedsp....sending good vibes for your daughter....my son is 26....WTH our kids are so young to be having "abnormal " ECG 's .!!!!
Tazzy....just cracked up when I saw the cartoon....love it!!!!
Shianne....sorry to have to welcome you here but these guys are truly the best bunch of women you will ever come across...I'm honored to call them my sisters.
Marcie.....welcome back.
Liefie....sorry to hear about you mother....
Tazzy...I was thinking the same thing too....might be a perfect time for that get together
Mcook ...please keep nursing that eye.....BTW....would love to get involved and be part
of your walk/run...even better if we could be there with you at the finish line..💃...party time all round!!!!!
Ladies ...just want to hug you all....love all the confessions.....love the fact you are all trying so hard when there is so much other crap going on in your lives...you truly are the best of the best.
My fantasy is that I win big in the lottery and I buy a "retirement home" where we can
all live out our days together partying it up with no thoughts of diets, calories, scales...
Just junk food and booze....hmmmm...may need to buy more than one retirement home....lol....I think we'll have a lot of gate crashers.....I can see the line up of wheel chairs already...💃💃💃0 -
Scottie, love the retirement home idea, what a group that would be. LOL

Iatigger.....another early bird!!!!...good morning...yeah, can you imagine? It gives me lots of chuckles when I think about it...lol

Oh yeah, the cats seem to think I am supposed to get up the same time on the weekend that I do all week. Of course they only make me get up, DH and DD are still snoring away. Then the cats go back to sleep and I am wide awake. Thank goodness we have BCO to hang out in the wee hours. Guess I better start practicing my shuffleboard so in 25 or so years I will be able to kick some butt at our home.

Too funny...I have the same issue here...My DH and two sons also sleep on and the cat
comes to me for attention....and yes, she is sleeping again and like you, I'm wide awake...got to love our animals...lol..
PS...you won't have time for shuffleboard girl...you'll be exhausted from whooping it up
24/7....💃0 -
Good morning, Just spent the last 45 minutes catching up....as many others have noted you ladies keep it cheerfully active here! Really just checking in though to see how everyone is doing...take care.

I am so in on the retirement idea! And right there with you on waking up early! Even on the days I want to sleep in I can't I am getting used to taking a little power nap on weekends! They are nice!
Thanks ladies - we still need 101 runners that want to actually run a marathon too. If you know of anyone that runs and wants to be involved in a amazing journey. PM me and I can get them the information. This is different than what I was asking from all of you:) this would be a person who wants to create their own team and raise funds for this organization but also run one of the marathon legs. If you know any co worker, friend who you think would be interested let me know. You all can just plan on coming to see me on the route if you can and I don't quite know where that is yet but trying to get it pinned down.
Ok ladies - who ever started their dam period this past week! I think I am starting mine! Wow is that weird or what? It is like sisters living in the same house. Woke up with cramps and spotting. Darn it but then again in the same breath makes me feel normal again if this is the case. Feb 28th will be one year since my dia. I need to do something epic on that day!
Have a great weekend fabulous ladies! As I always say, shake your money makers, let's put on some music and just dance! We deserve it!0 -
This always makes me laugh because parts of it are so true!

Mcook love the YouTube video ...
No cats in the retirement home .... Highly allergic ....shuffleboard yes and euchre parties too. Lets throw caution out and have karaoke too.0 -
I'll skip the shuffleboard Joe but I'm in for karaoke and euchre......we'll have to contain
Tazzy though...you know she loves dancing on the tables....💃💃💃0 -
Scottiee...retirement home? Far cry from a park bench or will there be a few outside for some of us?
0 -
Good morning everyone.
McCook - my husband thinks I'm a little crazy now after laughing at the 'sisters in the same house' comment and then the video
Scottie/Outdamnedspot - hope the ECG issues turn out to be nothing. I remember being a student nurse in my early 20's and offering to have the Emergency instructor demonstrate performing an ECG on me. Turned into a long drawn out affair with the EMergency physicians working me up, etc. Nothing came of it and I've had no problems that way since. ((()))
Scottie - I'll organize the wheelchair races and I've had some experience with baby powder and MUKO wars
Tazzy - I am happy to report that I jumped on the scale this a.m. And I was down 11/2 pounds so net loss was about 1 lb. after the .6 fluid retention from Thursday
Beautiful day here, hope everyone has a good one
Take care0 -
Love the wheelchair races...too funny Websister and thank you for making me feel a little better regarding ECG's !!!!
Susan....here's the thing....gave it a lot of thought and decided we all deserve more than a park bench WTH....so a 5 star retirement home it will be for all my sisters....make that 6 stars....we deserve the best!!!! Hope you are going to join us. Your DH will be able to visit, don't worry about that. Ha ha ha .0 -
I think after a month of being attached at the hip....he wouldn't even feel the need to visit!

Ladies - just have to share my excitement. My eyebrows have been growing back in and were starting to look a little crazy. Decided to go get them waxed and if I do say so myself - they look great. Dare I say back to normal?! Oh the things I never imagined would excite me so much... Hope you all find some happy today. Love and hugs!
0 -
ramols- congrats the the eyebrows!
0 -
Blessings, that is quite an inspiring and well-written pep talk. Thanks!
Mcook- wow! this is an impressive plan. good vibes your way....
0 -
Ramols. congrats on the eyebrows! Yayyyy! Still remember how excited I was the first time I could put on mascara again. It sure feels good, hey?
Love the retirement home idea where we can spend our twilight days together. Will be a hoot! DH's visiting us there reminds me of the rich old guy who appeared in court after a young girl, a gold digger, accused him of rape to get at his money. The old geezer was so proud to be accused of this crime at 89 years of age that he pleaded guilty. The judge sentenced him to 30 days in jail for perjury. LOL!
Scottiee, you rest well this weekend after your eventful week. Still sending good vibes to your son too. He is way to young to be struggling with these kinds of issues.
