If I remember right, it usually lasted about three days, then went to 4 at the end of treatment, but as with everything about this stupid disease, its different with everybody.

Ok this may sound trivial to some of you, but I cant seem to get my head around this. two times this week I have had a contractor tell me they couldnt build a screened in porch on my house. Something to do with the roof line. It is not a complicated roof. I just dont think there is enough money in it for them to want to do it and its pissing me off. I have spent the last 4 summers basically inside because after first chemo, I became deathly allergic to all kinds of bugs, not misquitos but just about anything else. I cant even go out of the house after sunset cause the last time I got stung I ended up in the ambulance in anaphallatic (SP) shock. I dont know what to do...I dont want to spend the summer inside AND I WANT MY PORCH!!!!!!Ok, that made me feel better... I will stfu now. Thanks for the rant...

Wellcome to Dwilli -  The crazys here can be as fun as they are helpful.  Join in or lurk (that's what I mostly do).  And by the way, spelling doesn't count.

Sas - What is the purpose of the roll call?

ChickaD - So sorry for your pain.  It's a rotten way to start your chemo routine.

Nebraska Phyll - Hope you are doing OK, sitting on front porch flirting, oops, reading a book and minding your own business.

Those of you who are young, virgins or otherwise, hope you can kick up your heels this weekend.

Those of you who are ancient, like me, hope you can bend over enough to just get your shoes on without help.

Getting a sonagram of my neck tomorrow, a second go-round.  Got a big nodule on thyroid or parathyroid, nobody seems to know which, even after a biopsy.   Trusting doctors is getting a little harder.....

ChickaD - Sorry when I had that neulasta shot it didn't bother me any until the last one. All I have heard was regular Claratrin (spelling?). Sending you some gentle hugs.

Tonight my hisband took me out to celebrate. He found out that I was a cheap date. I told my waitress that we were celebrating me being in remission (cancer free). She told the manager and I got my meal for free. Made the night even better.

I have been cleaning today. My hands are feeling better.

    Hugs!

Chicklet, neulasta, i don't even want to describe what it did to me. Ask for something stronger. Tramadol has pro-serotonergic action, can be very good as suggested, just need to know it affects serotonin, but not hugely. Have GORGEOUS see what he suggests. BUT dilaudid for the worst days, isn't out of bounds. I think I wiped out your drugs in the checker.  Babygirl i wish better for you.

Sandcastle are you staying around? Need to fill in your roll call info:) need to send me survey info:) I'm the OCD serious one here. sorry , there's one in every group :0)

Dwilli same too:) need to send me survey info:)

We started the roll call list cuz we are many, with all kinds of nicknames. There are now 30 names on the list. I just moved it to page 150

PM'd JO5 to see if she was staying here, she's not, she has a home thread. She just popped in for help. She was very appreciative of how everyone tried to help her. She said she could see how everyone supported each other here. I did catch the typo that said blah blah blah "or did you pooped in" versus "popped in"

I pm'd Everyone that didn't do a survey. It was pretty evenly split. Trying to mark off as I go. If you get one and already did it or I did it for you Just tell me to STFU. Next time I suggest a survey also tell me to STFU LOL.

My grandson (the love of my life) had n appt at CHOP today.....he was being checked for a spine curvature........now the story......

The specialist said he has a 34 degree curve which means Scoliosis...he needs to wear a brace till he stops growing....,,,,he is 14 years old, and 6 foot tall....the Dr said today according to his hip length now, he has a lot of growing to do.....he said probably 6 ft 6 at least...he was fitted for his brace today, and will have it in 3 weeks......he has to wear it 20 hours a day......that was not the worst thing........

The Dr want him to see a Geneticist......they want him tested for Marfans Syndrome......this is scary shit which I am sure Sas knows......this is what he said.....".Some kids with scolosis do also have Marfans, and are on the fence for having it.....he is not even near the fence". I hope and pray to God he is right.........I am sick just thinking about it...Marfans is a Connective Tissue Disease......

Here are the reasons for genetic testing.....he presents with some of the symptoms.......tall, thin, flat feet, a depression in the chest, curved spine, near sighted, long arms and legs.......The scary part is it can affect the heart (Aortic valve), and can be deadly.....

This is the dearest, sweetest, boy you will ever find, who adores his Mother, and she is his life and best friend......he is a straight A student, and an amazing golfer, playing Varsity golf as a Freshman.........

I am sick, should not have gone on Web MD........I am beside myself with worry.....Lord not him........if someone has to be hurt, let it be me....never him

The Dr also said they want to see his younger sister on the next visit also......it is genetic, even if just to check for Scoliosis. Thanks for listening. Hugs

Chick, Oh man, I have not had chemo but it makes me sad to hear how it affects you..  But when my breast pain got bad the pain doc gave me toradol.. That seemed to help for that. Hopefully, some others will help you soon...

I cried when I heard this... My sister started her chemo today and I think I'm going through some sort of guilt issue.  I have my own issues with nerve pain from the radiation but I just hurt so bad inside hearling these stories.. Chemo ladies, you are so strong.. I just feel so bad, I can't stop crying.. Cry

Marywh, Tell them you want a deck with tall corner posts that have screen around them. They can make the top out of screen also and you can just sit under an umbrella for shade. Or you could put a piece of canvas over the screen for shade and take it down in the winter. Perhaps it's the word porch that's confusing them.

Well ChickaD I'm sorry, but now u know it can be horrendous for some and maybe not as bad for others but it all sucks. and u start feeling better then it starts again, but it's so true it passes. Just drink alot and rest, try to eat protein.

Phylosick u'r having another bad time do u take any meds for nausea before chemo too- some Drs. give them I didn;t but I read on the board alot do. Oh girls I feel bad this is probably more surprising than u thought but u get to know the routine how u feel and what day so that helps.

GNA I understand that feeling too, I had already had 4 months of chemo and my sister told me she also had breat cancer I fell apart (we're also close) and when she told me they had decided on her course of action I told her I wish I could do her chemo for her cuz I already started (for 4 months) and I didn't want her to go thru this horror (to me) then about a week later she told me she was getting a treatment every 4 weeks for one hr. not chemo but ??? so she and I were so happy, the very next day I found out I had to have at least another year of chemo uz they had afew different kinds that I needed, I called her and called her a bitch cuz I didn't really mean it hahahaha we just laughed--so don't feel guilty she didn't LOL

Ducky, this is going to sound crazy, but the doc has identified the problem, steps are being taken, they'll get baselines on everything that needs a baseline. They'll teach him everything he needs to know to protect himself. He will be followed to see that his spine grows straight, they'll watch is heart forever(Echogardiograms and EKGS). He likes golf.

Marfans can go undiagnosed and is only found in some when the worst has happened. The worst usually makes the news when the young adult is involved in a strenuous sport and collapses because of the heart things.

So, this is a setback. But he has an excellent doc, that is doing it right. GS isn't going to miss playing football, basketball, impact sports, weight lifting, or track. Cuz he doesn't do it now, psychologically this part is good. Golf is a noncontact low energy expenditure sport YEAH. The only limitation is likely going to be carrying his golf bag. His golf is going to be interrupted until he stops wearing the brace, but that will be a short interruption in the space of his life.

just like we look for the good that we can find. Do the same with him b/c there are allot of positives here in a negative situation. L&H&P's sweetie

Jan did you see the short note about the roll call. It evolved b/c it was difficult to remember who was where in treatment. Who was who,  many have nicknames and screen names. AND some have MANY MANY nicknames.   But as the name states "A child of many names is much loved" --1800 sampler. I added states where I could so newbies to thread may pick up on whose close to them. The asterix is my code for who I have surveys from. Contact is so we don't have the problem of trying to contact someone when they haven't been around, well like RED. Lots have furbabies and it's nice to know stuff like that, but who can remember who has tigger and who has Katie Kat :). Likely will find other ways to use it too. I have hesitated about real names, but where hooligans are using real names, for the most part I've put them in. Where name is bolded, it indicates what name the member said they like best. If anyone can think whatelse to put in let me know. Any if someone doesn't want to fill in the blanks, don't.  figure moving it forward about every 20 pages or less will work. An IDEA, we could PM this to a new friend when they join us. That would bring them rapidly up to speed as to all the above instead of guessing :) L&H&'s

Mericat hasn't been around for awhile, I think since the 17th. Mericat just PM'd me.
