Okay, Stellina YOO-HOOOO bring your kitty and come visit
This may sound stupid to some, but remember when the old smiley faces had a box come up and tell us what they mean. Now they don't. So we choose something we think emotes what we want to emote. So, what is the green one emoting? Most of us are using it as the bad guy. Maybe it means "green clover" as in lying in green clover in the sun.. Is this guy getting a bad wrap?

Oh I'm here again---Shell if u look closely it shows u what they mean and I thing the gfren one has an X over it's mouth like Shut up Chevy oops her name just seemed to follow0 -
Oh Cami girrrl you are so smart. Who asked about the one with the fork in him? Hovering over it says Z so must be going to sleep. (I thought "stick a fork in me I'm done"). Some of the symbols I'm still not sure of. Like this guy???
Dwilli - nice to see you return. Hope this group of nutcases can be of support to you.
Did we chase Stellina off? I hope not. Y'all behave. Off shortly to get DH's truck at the body shop.0 -
Cami, what an interesting way of getting a promotion. ROTFLOL "so I told her u can pull a ducks neck all u want but u'll never get a swan." I can just imagine her eyes buggering out, her neck getting red, and steam coming out of her ears.
Shells like I said it will fall into place. I did homecare for two years. One pre cell phone. Can you imagine doing everything your doing from the home without a cell phone. I t seems that Little goats did homecare or Julianna? Any ways two suggestions.
1. Keep a fax cover sheet file. ON Each sheet write the individual company name. Write the fax number large so that when it's laying in the tray you can see it easily. In the lines below write date and subject. I.E. Boggs(oxygen) xxxxxxxxxx, on lines below write 11/2/2013--attached copy of orders for (insert name). Then cross out name after use and fax is ready for next use. Sounds small, but you'll be faxing ALL the time. Saves a step and there's no hippa breach. You can reuse the same cover sheet oodles of times.
2.Take All your phone number resource sheets. Trim as needed and staple into one file. I had 7 or 8 stapled into one file--layered. I had every phone number in the county that I needed in one place. Make 2 copies--one is your master. I made these up for a bunch of other HC nurses, they loved them. This one file was used more than any other b/c everyone was in there. DME, all hospice personell with cell#'s, Docs and PHones/cells, Socialwork list, All in hospital phone numbers that you routinely use. Any list that has value to you.
Social worker on the floor will have a list of all resources in the county. i.e. many volunteer groups do singular things that unless you know it, you don't know it. The social workers list is a goldmine. Here one group does wheel chair ramps, another grab bars, another shopping inside the grocery, but then someone else delivers. All organization numbers/foundations that can provide assistance. Hospice has there own thing, but think in terms that eventually you'll cross over to consult on Palliative care.
I made the same files when cancer came, worked great then too.

To all: Teka, asked that this be posted from the Topic: News about LuvRVing [Michelle]

I'm afraid my next update here will be to tell you all of mom's passing. She is resting comfortably and pain free at home. She is no longer able to open her eyes for more than a few moments. The nurses have told us that she will be gone in the next few days. She is surrounded by family and we are all grateful for the cards, letters, and warm wishes. I think, even though she can't talk to us anymore, that mom is still listening and that she's pissed and angry that cancer is winning this terrible war. There was never acceptance, only an amazing fighting spirit that refused to give in even for a moment. My mom is a brave warrior and I know she would tell you all to keep fighting with everything you've got, but above all to live as if there is no tomorrow.

Later taters but Sassy I cannot IMAGINE doing homecare/hospice pre cell phone days. Both jobs I juggled both my own and the office phone. Needless to say big pockets on scrubs were my 2nd req. after comfort.
Shells PM me with suggestions. My car trunk could have easily outfitted a minor ER. You will/are doing great. Your role would be what we here call "the admit nurse" who sets the tone for the whole pt experience. My last hospice we only were lucky enough - that is enough census/money - to get an admit nurse about 2-3 months b4 I left. Otherwise and even with him still did plenty of my own.
Thank you for the reposting on Michelle.0 -
Teka, Hugs, LVR is loved by many. It's a tough post to read. But by reading it we can bring LuvRVing into our hearts. Just by you asking that it be posted here, I know you felt a special bond. Sorry you are losing a friend . L&H&P's sassy

Littlegoats---yes big pockets and a fanny pack. LOL. My minivan was an ER, wasn't it? God forbid you didn't have the right size foley catheter and you got called 50 miles away for a blocked catheter at midnight.. CHOAS chain---nice neck chain with one car key and one house key. Tucked the end of the chain inside my shirt. Why? When you're thinking about all the stuff you're thinking AND get out of the car with the keys in the ignition and it self locks. Suggest getting roadside service for surei.e. AAA
Memories, I got a "bikers" type fanny pack. It had so many pockets. Actually, it was a bike saddle pack, that a very nice seller sewed on a belt. I looked like hell with my belly, but everything was on me.

Sass, it's amazing.... but somehow, I think a woman or a man always has those feelings....... I mean how old do I have to be before I don't think something like THAT is desirable?
I think a woman always wants to feel desirable, or at least nice looking. That's why I still wear make-up and color my hair.... etc. When I look in the mirror when I get up, aI think "OMG..... I don't have much to work with there..." But it just takes longer, to get the same "look" that I had years ago.
DH and I like to look nice for each other, if not for everyone else...Ha!
Teka, I just QUIT bagging leaves also! DH can do the rest.... I'm going to fix me a drink! And it's NOT a chocolate coke!0 -
GOOD God, he is built! I mean I'm not DEAD.... right?0 -
Yes Teka, the snow will cover the sticks soon.
Until then here is some help with the yard chores!0 -
OK, I really have to get back to work. No tellin' what I can find under my bed!!!

repost from ---Topic: For Older People with Sense
Mac --Isn't that wonderful for your aunt. 99 and still going.
To all: can't remember if I posted this. Remember when I tried to find info on the gene testing for Chrissy when she had her problem with Coumadin/warfarin. That was then and now is a new part of the story. My docs 2/3 have become proactive in testing through Genelex for 2D6, 2C9. 2C19, and the VROCKI(sic). I first turned her(PCP) and my MO, and therapist onto it in 2010. Who knew my research found the only company in the world that not only tests, but applies it to meds, and has back up pharmacist support. What a wonder. Many test, but don't do what Genelex does.
Anyways about 2 months ago I went --DUH-- I haven't been tested. I was tested. I didn't know they tested for the Vrocki(sic) gene along with the other three. Low and behold I carry an aberrant Vrocki gene. If I were to receive Coumadin/warfarin it has to be modified in dose. Just as Chrissy. I looked at the report in amazement. I know without having to go through a complication as Chrissy did. In the report it said "1 of 15 admissions in the USA is due to complications of Coumadin therapy".
LindaN told me that in the NY, NJ, and one other state surrounding her it's now a requirement for testing for this gene before starting Coumadin therapy. DUH-----what's driving that is money-------complications cost money. SO, wish it was b/c patient care was driving the activism.
Hope everyone is keeping well----SoCalisa your pics are always a day brightnersassy

SAS - Got your PM. I'm super busy today plus a headache and can't figure out PMing. I'll get back to you soon. I want to check with my sister and do a little research before I write. Don't want to make a mistake on something so important. J0 -
OMG is that guy farting ---George Clooney? No George doesn't fart --does he?
Uh oh, Chevy, I opened the wine when you said you were going to have a drink, so what ever happens---it's your fault.

I don't generally drink wine, but I guess I could make an exception!0 -
Sas, my sister is into geneology and has been after me for years to get a DNA profile done. I finally did it through https://www.23andme.com because they had a sale. It came with medical information in addition to heritage. I found out I have increased sensitivity to warfarin also. I have never taken that drug and had no idea I was sensitive to it. This is my genotype.
I found out lots of interesting things with the profile that was done.0 -
