I wish oh wish wish wish we could all have an all night sleepover, snuggle up in blankets and cook all day first… have a beautiful fire, pop popcorn, and have dirty martinis and talk about naughty stuff.

And compliment each other on how cute, smart and talented we all are, endlessly……………….

I'm up for that Shells! Of course, after the winter we have had, we must crash your place for the party since you live in Paradise! LOL
Hope you are all safe and warm and you have power. It is coming down pretty hard now and we are getting 2-3 inches an hour they say and we should have 10 inches in most of the state with some areas getting a lot more (closer to 18 inches!) so it is gonna be a long one. They said even the commute tomorrow will be a big challenge so we might have a late opening. I know the made the right call to close today - so happy when I saw that last night!
Have a great day hoolies! xoxo

Think SPRING!

Thinking of you, ahem, ladies, today. Make some barley risotto, use some white wine in the broth, and lots of herbs. Stay warm and think about planting your seedlings in a couple of months.

Yes the weather is just so extreme this year. All that snow and ice and flooding for so much of the world. But here in my part of the country, central California, we are in severe drought. Our beloved (not) governor has a cure for our lack of water: when it's brown, flush it down, when it's yellow, let it mellow.
Forecast for today at our 3000 ft elevation is 70 degrees. In southern California it's going to be 83. At the winter Olympics, snow is melting and people are sunbathing in bikinis at a nearby resort. London is flooded, more rain predicted.
So I feel lucky to live where I do, but what happens this summer is scary to contemplate. Central California produces much of our country's food. One farmer says his peaches might cost $3.00 each.
PS I still flush every time.

if my MIL doesn't quit sending me emails about how eating green vegetables dramatically decreases BC and recurrence of BC I'm going to tell her to STFU via email which I can tell you will not be good.
No other calls of support to me everduring this process, no kind words, now these stupid, offensive emails. So if the cancer comes back, it will clearly be my fault.
The hag needs to STFU. Wheew....much better now.
Thanks loves

Shane.........LMAO..............an idiot born everyday........encountered many since BC........maybe if you do tell her to STFU she will..............LOL
Good hearing from you.........hopefully you have been lurking, just not posting...........miss you......
Sitting here just watching all the weather reports.hate snow, hate winter.........right now I think I even hate myself.....
Last week no power during one of our storms.
Can't wait to get back down to my shore house, and back in the pool and to the beach........will never complain about our humidity, and heat again...............LOL

Thought this was pretty good advice about what to say and more importantly NOT say to cancer patients. Send it to your MIL Shane! LOL!

Stay warm hoolies! Heading out with DH to start clearing the driveway and front stoop so it is not as bad tomorrow even though we are expecting a few more inches. We already have 10!

I guess I haven't had to much advice thrown at me cuz, my 2 aunts, my mom my cousin ,y niece and my sister have all had BC and our lifestyles are all so different from extremely healthy and exercise to moderately healthy and exercise and not to much so between all of us people just assume it's in our genes---But I worry for my kids and nieces especially, but they do go every year for complete physicals and do exercise and eat well so who knows. Only the Shadow knows--just had to say that.

STOP THE PRESSES NEWS FLASH: 9:44pm EST---8:44pm Colorado time(?)
Our dear fearless leader Chevy has a broken left hip. She crossed the road to avoid ice, she stated in the interview and this rock got under left foot. She turned her ankle and fell. This was early today 2/13/14. She's been in the hospital all day. She's on Morphine, but she has her wits about her. Her humor intact. Doesn't sound loopy at all. Her DD is at her side, as is DH.
Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 2 pm, 2/14/14. ORIF --Open reduction internal fixation(long rod and screws). She expects to be in the hospital for two days after surgery. Rehab in hospital for two days after surgery. May go to rehab facility. That will be decided later for sure.
She can't post here because the hospital keyboard is too complicated (shut-up Cami).
She wasn't happy that this stupid injury interfered with her planned casino trip.
She asks that Cami do the AM post reviews in the morning on each of her threads.(Thanks Cami).
Thinking of everyone and sends XOXO's
Will keep you updated---sassy

11:am EST:Hello, update on Chevy. Surgery is still on at 2 pm. Sounds very good. She's thinking more in the direction of going to a rehab faciltity. It's a hairline fracture on the outer aspect of the hip, the ball joint is not affected. This is very good. It will make her recovery easier. The ball joint carries the weight.
She did get herself up and out of bed to use the bathroom by pushing a chair last night. The staff went into a tissy. They put a catheter in after that and explained about the call light.
Sends love to all. Told her she will reading for days. I'm supposed to call around 6 pm Colorado time. Okay someone tell me what time that is EST----8 pm? Sassy

Hey folks valentining then sleeping, up now. Didn't write total details about conversations with Chevy, cuz of posting on multiple threads. Conversations were typically interupted as conversations in hospitals are---people coming and going, trying to cram lots into a short talk, diverging, laughing.
She didn't think to call for help. The staff didn't properly explain what to do. But thankfully she wasn't injured b/c of it. She doesn't have a PCA--pain machine with the button. We were laughing so much I didn't get to pain scale. The guy was coming with her med. Felt a bit bad I didn't do my normal preop teaching, but Chevy's no shrinking violet.
Her fracture---if one has to have a fx, hers is the best. it's not part of weight bearing. Huge difference for pain now and then for recovery. It's a hairline versus like broken glass. The broken glass type fx's can have trouble healing well b/c the matrix is so disrupted. The rod will give the fx the support it needs, should heal very nicely. Doc's going to have her up tomorrow
I'm watching the clock. I'm calling at 8pm EST. will post as soon as I have info. If she still under anesthesia drug influence , I'm sure DD will be at bedside. Will keep postop note short b/c I've put the posts on several threads. XOXO sassy
Going to C&P to her other two most active threads STFU and Older

2/14/14 7:50 pm; Chevy's still in recovery. Don't worry. I thought the timing for my check in call was short. It's 5:50 in Co. That would make it only 4hrs from scheduled 2pm sx time. Hip cases are big setup cases and the earlier sx's may have taken longer then scheduled. The only case that ever starts right on time is the first case of the morning.
I'm guessing the following, but it's a reasonable guess. Even if they were moving her back to the room as I write, by the time they settle her in it' will be 7 pm. Unless DD stays the night. The staff will shew the family out pretty quick after that.
Checked with surgical waiting room and no family there.-----I'll give it another hour---Sassy
