My local Y does not have a Live Strong program,,,, I checked,, booooo.

However,, I might have a sneaky solution. I was talking to my friends (married couple that I'm close to) tonight,, he's a member of the gym,, and she's not. So I'm wondering if I could pose as his wife!! Then he and I could split his membership???? Anyway,, we'll see !!

what does the real wife think if this plan glennie?

I screwed up and didn't get to have my scan today. Resched for tomorrow at noon. Unfortunately, I have two steroid pills to take. One 12 hours prior and one 6 hours prior. For anyone who isn't good at math, I will be lucky to not fall asleep in the table. I'm so ready for sleeping now. My monthlong headache is killer tonight. Possible good news: it sounds a lot like a migraine. That would be a nice simple solution.... Brain MRI, here I come.

I forgot to mention what an idiot move I made tonight. Maybe I can blame the headache. Decided I wanted to make some pasta on my new stove. Put the water on to boil in one of BFs coveted stainless pots, presumably the set was a wedding gift. Walked outside, sat down, started responding to text messages, made a phone call or two, messed around on YouTube a while. A good hour later I go back inside and immediately notice a funky smell. All of the water was boiled away at the bottom of the pot. Oops!  So mad at myself for being so stupid!  Decided I probably couldn't handle steroids and contrast at midnight on an empty stomach, so I boiled more water and made the pasta after all. Now I'm ready for bed. The end.

Oh DP, that is soooo something I would do! Is the pot OK? How about the BF, are you forgiven?

I too, was wondering about the real wife too, and how the goss at the Gym might be out of control!

Never thought I'd be glad to hear you had a migraine! You know what I mean!! I used to suffer terrible migraines when I was younger, I went to a Professor at one of our Hospitals and he told me the best thing to get rid of a migraine is to have an orgasm while the headache is in full force. I was dumbstruck, not something I had ever heard of and certainly not something that would have occurred to me, while having a splitting head, with all the associated auras and numbness like a stroke. It's something to do with the rush of endorphins....so, just passing that little gem on.   M x

M, That's funny. I can't imagine being able to have an orgasm while in horrible pain. Might work if you could do it.

Yes DP eat! I felt so sick and shakey during my scan because I was hungry. I've done that too but with eggs. They exploded. Try a layer of baking soda in the bottom of the pot. Heard a dryer sheet will work????

Are you allergic to the contrast?

Real wife is OK with the plan. She and I have been friends for a long time. The 3 of us do stuff together all the time and Russell refers to me as his 2nd wife,, and that Melinda and I are sister wives,,, like Big Love! LOL!   I just don't think the plan will work, cuz I'm sure I'd have to produce ID or something to show I'm his wife,,, and thus ends my grand plan.

DP, I've done that before too. Completely forgotten about something on the stove and boiled it dry.  In the bag for the scan. I guess migraine would be like,, good news! There are lots of drugs for that.

Having an orgasm while in pain,,, I think not possible,, but if you could,, might help.  Need a really good candidate for helping with that!!

I got a comment about the underside of the pot being burned this morning, while I was taking my 6am pill. I ignored it and went back to bed.

Yes zills, I'm allergic to the dye. I think what I took was prednisone. It tasted awful. And even after that, I got hives anyway. But not as bad as before. Funny though that they come in the exact same spots each time. Always first on the side if my neck. That one feels like a bee sting as soon as the dye is injected. Also got one right on my butt today. Not so bad other than they itch like crazy. At least I didn't have to stick around for IV Benadryl today. The tech did well on my IV but I still missed my port today. I'm usually a hard stick. I decided to stop telling people that though. I think it sets them up for failure. Horrible flashbacks from bmx morning. Bad bad nurse. Ariom what a fabulous idea. I'll try to try that out, for everyone else's benefit of course.

Prednisone does taste awful.  I hate that.  How much did they give you?  At our hospital,, we give 50 mg x 3 doses before the procedure if patient is allergic.

"Not tonight dear; I DON'T have a headache!"  Lol

I hadn't thought of that Andrea! You're  absolutely right!

DP is going to experiment with that idea and let us know. I have to admit, I never tried it myself since I spent most of my time throwing up, seeing golden stairways and a numb tongue and side when I had Migraines, so not terribly conducive for even attempting, anything pleasurable.

Good luck with that DP, can't hurt!!

OOOh yuck! Prednisone is the most revolting bitter pill. I take them every day for RA and it isn't unusual to have 1, that doesn't go down, and it starts to melt in your mouth!

Gross on the Prednisone. I hated being on it. And I was STARVING on it. I would stand in the open refrigerator and just look for stuff to eat. It was awful.  I did find Coca-Cola helpful for getting rid of the awful taste.

I'm trying a new bunch of hair products that I got while picking up my rx this week. Can anyone pinpoint when exactly products became so frightening?  I know I should just stop reading warning labels. On the mousse can, it says HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. do not go near heat, flame, or smoke while using this product or until hair is completely dry. First of all, who smokes while they style their hair? I was a hardcore smoker back in the day, but seriously?  Not to mention avoiding heat... Really?  One of the benefits it touts is being a heat protectant!  I couldn't handle drying all the way with the diffuser, so now I sit here in fear of my head bursting into flames. The sun is pretty hot today after all.

I was also so sad to learn that John Frieda Beach Blonde was discontinued, years ago apparently. Very disappointing. I need to go online and order some. It didn't do much for me when I had long stick straight hair, but I think I would like it now. I must find some easier method of styling. I wonder if any of those people who say how simple and easy short hair is ever actually had short hair. I used to spend huge amounts of time doing all sorts of pin up girl hair styles or fancy braids and prefer that any day over this nonsense!  It is just long enough now that I can pull it back with little clips or do tiny pig tails. I had to go buy little baby clips because all I was ever able to use were the giant jumbo ones. Strange world I'm living in...

speaking of warning labels, have you ever ordered anything online that comes from California?  And when you open it, it has a tag that says "contains materials known to the state of California to cause cancer". Wtf? Nice warning and all but maybe it should be required to be in the item description before you actually purchase it. What are you supposed to do? Drop the item and run away?  I know, Gotta cya in our litigious society, but geez

It's crazy when you watch commercials on TV about medication and they are fiollowed by a long description of all the possible side effects , especially the fatal ones!! That would scare me from even taking the meds.

It's almost as amusing as those Lawyer commercials that start with:

"If You or someone you know has died....."

I wonder how many calls they get from people saying they died????

lol Andrea. Those always crack me up. Like how bad is your IBS that you would rather take a pill that they say causes lymphoma?  Also love the if you have died lawyers. Greatness. My favorite right now is the one talking about gynomastea (sp?)  it has bullet points listed:

    Grew breasts?

    Has breast removal surgery?

    Lactated?

Do they really need to be that specific or do you think someone would just notice that their son grew breasts?  Maybe you get more money if you lactated. But it's good that they remind you about it, in case you forgot.

oh my gosh, someone call me a lawyer too!  I think my head is about to explode. Hoping for good news on Monday along with some miracle drug to make me feel better. I've been downright miserable for two weeks. I never felt this bad on even the worst chemo days. Whinewhinewhine. Couldn't manage to leave the house today. It was a huge chore just to change out of my nightclothes before bf came home from work. During chemo times, I insisted on him not seeing me without full makeup and suitable clothes. I guess those were the good old days. Now im beat down and lazy.

DP, that's shitful! I am sorry you're having such a rough time. You must be worn out from he head pain. I wish I could suggest something to help.

This is probably a stupid question, but you do drink lots of water, don't you? I know my specialist would always be banging on, about how easy it is to become slightly dehydrated, and then the head would start.

Just tell me to STFU, if I'm annoying you!Loopy

lol ariom. I do not drink as much water as I should. I've actually been trying to be conscious of it with the headaches, and drink more. It certainly does make a difference. Dehydration has caused me plenty of ill feelings in the past. Been drinking ice water tonight. Can't shake the nausea. Took a leftover pill. Considered going up to the er, as I was laying in bed in misery, but I honestly don't think I could get through a scan, or even an IV placement without throwing up. I've started wondering if this could be from oxygen levels being too low. Have not had it checked in a long time. No one has seemed concerned about checking it though. I'm going to go take a bath and if I have enough energy left after that to get dressed, then I will likely go to the hospital. Brilliant idea to go to the er on a Saturday night.

DP, wondering if you felt well enough to go to the ER, Saturday night, not the best time, but they should be able to test your oxygen levels fairly quickly, I don't know how it works over there. M x

Wishing you to get better, from way over here. Big smooshy hugs....M x
