Cherrie, I just lurk her because I don't meet the requirements to be here yet, but I couldn't help but sense your urgency about your daughter, and your unborn grandchild. Sweetie, I am sure there is something they can do to help her, and the baby. My DIL has a very rare blood disorder, and with the right docs, and the correct counseling we now have two beautiful grandson's with no risk to DIL, or the babies. Research, find the best endocrinologists in the area. Make calls. I know she is not the first person this has happened to. Sending prayer's to you, and your family.

Movie, the photo of the great hunter so cracked me up I put it in our Christmas cards. Yeah, I hate rats too, especially when they eat my oranges and tomatoes. Finding a rat in the terlit would totally ruin my day.

Cherrie, I'm sorry, I looked up hyperthyroid and pregnancy on WebMD and found some good information, I just forgot to post it. Have a look here:

    http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=19366

From what I read, hyperthyroidism in pregnancy is very much treatable, and should be controlled to prevent complications in mom and baby. I'm so sorry you and your daughter are experiencing this scare--pregnancy should be a joyful time! If I can translate any medical-ese or be helpful in any way, please feel free to PM me.

Nihahi, EVERYONE in So Cal has had some kind of experience with rats. They love to move into people's attics and set up housekeeping (the rats, not the Californians). They like to live in the deep ivy landscaping that you can find here, too. But when Jerry spent a month working in Sweden a couple of years ago, he told me about the Norwegian rats he saw there. They were HUGE. Like small dogs.

ketch....not ignoring you....just have no answer for you. Welcome to the post-flap insanity of this thread....maybe posting your question on a nipple recon thread might get more answers for you???? Just a suggestion.

oops reread your post....doesn't sound like you had nipple recon. Sorry....still can't answer your question though.

Whoa, I know too much about rats.....roof rats in San Diego that crawl in your walls and then DIE creating the worst stink imaginable.....now I live against a "forest" and used to needlessly feed the birds which drew all the rats in the forest to my yard. We now have bait trap boxes placed every fifteen feet around the perimeter of the house and garden. My research shows that all of these rats are Norway rats! They came over on my relatives' journeys, I guess. It was by far the most disgusting research I have ever done. Sbel, your picture was great! My husband is the neighborhood mountain beaver-killer, everyone calls him to do the dirty deed for them. They live trap them because other traps are illegal here. Then....pow goes the pellet gun. They are not beavers but huge rodents that fish and game told us to kill, not transport. They eat any vegetation they bump into and degrade our ravines with their vast tunnels. They were here first....but why do they have to come eat my Hostas when there is plenty of vegetation in the forest???

Nihahi, my grandma was Swedish and my grandpa was Norwegian...lots of coffee, baking and happiness. Sorry about the photo "ph"iasco!

Movie, yay for labs! Yours are so "pretty!"

Jeannie, we haven't had anymore orange munchers since Jerry nailed this one. Maybe it scared the others. We HAVE had a couple of them in the attic, though, and they're tough to get rid of. They're intelligent rodents and sometimes don't fall for the typical baited traps.

Hostas don't grow well here (I think) but my brother plants them all over his Pennsylvania farm. They're beautiful, and apparently the deer consider them to be candy. They paid a gazillion dollars to put up a deer fence around the property, and that helped.

Yes, slugs consider most host as candy, too! We have a gazillion of those here where it's nice and moist.

keep the rats, ladies....did you all know that Alberta is "officially" rat free! They actually have rat patrols because of the fear of them migrating from Saskatchewan...(granted, if I lived in Sask..I'd try to migrate here too). Off hiking today....think I'll keep my" lions and tigers and bears", thank you!!!!

bailey!!! how's LV???? I've been watching the news...you haven't made the headlines yet....get busy girl!

Okay gals. I don't like to post pictures but you gals got me trying to figure it all out to post pictures! First picture is June before diagnosis (20th anniversary) - diagnosis Sept 27th 2011. Second picture last month of trying a selfie LOL. I'm 25 lbs lighter and more my natural brunette color LOL again. I'm thinking of adding low lights to my hair to camouflage my grays and still be more brunette. My hair is super curly on the ends and I'm worried to cut it off to have totally straight hair! It is still easy to style though. I just towel dry it and put some product in it and I only wash it every other day.

I'll try to find some pictures of my puppy (Reiley - she's 10 years old) too!
