    I sent our prayers and love over the weekend. D*** texted me back this morning:

    Good morning...

    This is D***…. Patty is eating a lil bit ….

    Definitely a lil bit worse ….. :-(


    I asked if I can help in any way:

    Unfortunately no....

    Just a REALLY SUKY …. way to die.... Slowly ….

    Part of Life that is just very HARD …!


    I called and spoke with D*** for a bit. He told Patty he was speaking with me. She was eating alright. 

    I spoke about hospice and services, asked about the boys. The boys are holding up alright. They're going to be stronger for going through this. I asked if Patty received the cards and flowers. She did. I told him that many of us were sending love and prayers for Patty, her boys, and him. He said they appreciate all that. He'll keep me up to date on Patty.

    Madelyn: So thankful for your persistence that you finally connect with D***. I don’t post offen, but read everyday. I pray for Patty being comfortable and with people care for her and she cares.

    I didn't get the chance to interact with Patty on here but her story is close to my heart and I will keep her in my prayers tonight. So much love in this beautiful community.

    Dear Patty, this is a Passion of Christ flower. I love looking at photo galleries of flowers, but when I saw this one and recalled its name, I immediately thought of you. So unusual and uniquely beautiful. Lots of love to you and your family, especially your sons. 💕❤️They are about the same ages as Princess Diana's sons. She instilled so much love and compassion in them, and her spirit lives on in them, just like yours will in your sons.     I sent our prayers and love early this morning with MissBianca's flower picture. 

    Awhile later, D*** texted me back:

      Not so good for Patty ..….

      She's having a Hard ….

    I said I was so sorry. I asked how was it hard? 

    But those messages were delivered but not read. So, we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what D*** meant. 

    Hard could be anything: confused, tired. When I spoke with D*** on Monday, Patty was asking for something, but D*** didn't understand what she was saying. 

    Holding Patty close in my prayers.

    I just "met" Patty within the past year as I found my way to the board due to my diagnosis. I haven't gone back to read her thread from the beginning and I was just curious how the Hootie Hoo started, i.e. because she likes owls, because another member always said hello that way. I wish there was a way to take this awful disease and make it so it doesn't get this bad, they have AIDS changed from a death sentence why can't they get it together with Cancer. All the money and research that goes into it.....

    vampeyes- There is a thread called the Insomniacs. Patty has been on it for a long time, and it's just something she'd say to her fellow night owls. A lot of us that spent time on that thread tend to use it, especially when talking to her.
