Bella I hope that it doesn’t hit the Jacksonville area. Partying for you guys. We are not expecting anything but some rain this time. So thankful for this mercy.

Went out to top golf for a few hours. I stink at it but it’s still fun.

    Mae I love your outfits.

Boo boo we just got a little rain. It it was the normal kind nothing tropical. I think the news said this evening or in the morning some effects bc it’s a slow mover.

    Take care all.

good evening fam! I am here!

    How is everyone?

Simone I am so sorry about your sister! That’s scary and shocking! My mom had a heart thing a couple years ago and it took her about a year to psychology bounce back from it all. I am so glad your sister is doing ok! My thoughts are with your family 💜

Trying to get caught up on all the posts. Hi Mel and candy!! Waving hello 👋🏼 and hugs 🤗

I was down the shore for a couple nights with a few of my closest buddies. We had a great time. My one friend is the one just diagnosed with DCIS. She’s going for genetic testing tomorrow and starting the oh so fun process of meeting everyone of the doctors (breast surgeon, maybe radiologist? Oncologist) and also thinking about a clinical trial in NYC. So many decisions ahead. It is REALLY hard to be young-ish (early 40s), single, childless and diagnosed. She already had a hysterectomy due to something called VAIN, a cervical pre-cancerous condition. We have both had our possibility of bearing children taken away. Now she’s facing her breasts being possibly taken too. It’s quite a bit for one’s psyche to handle! I still get mad that women have to endure such things.

But otherwise, I am doing really well. I missed you all! Thank you for asking about me!! I feel loved!!! 🤗🤗🤗💜🧡❤️

Wishing everyone a safe night, especially those on the southern east coast and thinking of those in the Bahamas right now, as they have endured an incredibly destructive storm. Very scary!

    Love,

Simone, I too want to say how sorry I am about your sister. My thoughts are with you and your family. Life never stops giving us things to deal with.

    Morning everyone!

Watching Dorian's activity like all of us. Brother in law has condo in Sebastian, Fl.,but he is in Maine till November. Just want the the damn thing to turn out to sea. Aching for the Bahamian people.

Doing well, adjusting to the SE's of Taxol, none of which are crippling. Some weird heartburn and the nemesis for all of us-fatique.

I do find early fall in Maine very energizing, so keeping fingers crossed.

Grandson has first day of fifth grade today. Quite the grown up little man!

Radaghast-love your cooking style! Looks scrumptious! Like using fresh and local foods!

Mara- sorry to hear that that dumb social worker blew it....miscast? sounds to me like you totally have it together and know exactly what you need.

Mae-love the pretty tops! Enjoy Chicago!

Micmel-man oh man-hope the sciatica resolves fast! I am still laughing at the term "cellular assholes" !!! You very funny lady!

Simone, Philly , Tanya, Candy, Grannax, Divine, Bella and every one of my dear MBC sisters- may peace and comfort find you today.

    Love, Mary Jane

Just finished getting scans this morning, bone and ct with contrast. Then onc appt this afternoon. She’ll bring the scans up on her computer and give me the preliminary results. I’m nervous as hell. 1 1/2 hours to wait around to see onc since I schedule scans and dr appt on same day. Who else beside me tries to use their intuition to get a feel from the scan technicians whether those scans are leaning in our favor ornot?

Waving to MJH!!!! Always great to see you. Go grandson. Fifth grade wow! Already?

Good luck Divine! I gave up trying to predict the results, now I just go by how I feel and if I have new pain or not. For me, the brain MRI’s are especially tricky because headaches are so common and have many causes.

Hello to everyone, I’m doing fine as far as I can tell and still reading all the time.

My next scans are mid-Sept with the follow up appt about 5 days later. Divine, you’re lucky to have results on the same day. Last scan I had a call the next day from the MO’s nurse saying they showed improvement but nothing specific until I saw my MO. It did help to have the positive words, but I think we all want details and fast!

Divine, hope your report was good?

MJH, I’d love to experience Maine in the fall. Both of my visits were summer (and beautiful) but very enjoyable.

Mel, glad you sound a little better. Sciatica is miserable so I hope it doesn’t last too long for you.

I’m enjoying watching the US Open tennis matches every night. I could probably watch all day too but try to get off the couch now and then. I’m a definite non-athlete but somehow got hooked on grand slam tennis in the days of Bjorn Borg and Steffi Graf. Yes, Way back then.

Wishing you all some up days!

    Divine,

Reporting for pocket duty. I see my new onc tomorrow, who will also give me the latest results of my recent PET scan, so I'm totally with you.

MJH, how are you doing on Taxol? My hair fell out pretty fast on that drug, but boy did it kick butt. I did not have a bad time on it, and it shrunk my tumors to an almost undetectable status. Prayers that you get good results.

Mae, forgot to ask you. Where do you get such cool clothes? Sometimes I feel like a farmer the way I dress. I lost all caring about my appearance once I was diagnosed with MBC. But I’m starting to realize I may actually be around awhile...anyway, your outfits are so nice.

    Hi Rosie,

I don’t know you, but hopefully you will have good results when you go this month....looks like several of us are waiting for results. It’s the worst kind of torture waiting to hear where we stand. Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and glad you are posting here!

    Hi Mel,

Checking in to say hi, and let you know how very fortunate that Tanya and I escaped the hurricane this time around. I am now really praying and hoping for our friends on the East coast that they can also escape this monster storm.

Hope you are doing and feeling well.

    Big hugs from FL,

Lolololol BooBoo! A farmer. Omfg. Yes I know what you mean. I call it bag lady wear!!! I’m starting to get annoyed with it as well. Since I have had my breast recon I can’t wear jeans. The scar rubs the button and it kills me. So I get bummed about that. I probably would look like a pear anyway. 🥺 oh well. I took some photos of myself because my family has been asking. So I forced myself to break down and do it. Weird thing is, when I look at my pictures I don’t recognize who is looking back at me. It’s quite frightening......but it is what it is! I’ll post them at some point ! You crack me up woman!

Divine~ Heavy pockets look out my dear ! Sorry about the crumbs. Wishing you nothing but great results.

Rosie. Hello lovely. In your pocket as well. I'll take breaks.

Okay something odd. I didn't nap today ???😮 like ? That never happens. It's because of my break. On treatment. I am tired I have to admit. But I hope to have more days like this. I see onc Thursday. Yuck!

Bella~ and anyone else anywhere near the storm. thinking of your safety.

booboo, I order most of my clothes from Torrid and ModCloth but honestly most days I either wear gym clothes (to the gym of course) or Walmart pajama sets (lightweight and soft) around the house. I confess, I’m a bit of a shopaholic when it comes to anything retro, cool and cheap.

Rosie I got hooked on tennis and watched it for a few days but my daughter is here with her husband and two kids, my daughters mother in law also landed here from Melbourne FL, evacuees, so I’ve been barely watching TV and making the most of these 7 days off of ibrance.

Booboo when are you moving. I pray your results are great.

It was good hearing from so many Mae Micmel yndorian MJHjan, Simone, candy, philly anyone I forgot have a good evening all.

Gumdoctor I’ll be in your pocket tomorrow.

Divine I missed pocket duty. I love that you get same day results. I wish we all could.

Bella I hope you al fare well.

So sad for the Bahamas. Wow they will need help.

I have scans next week. Plenty of time for scanxiety

    Hi Tanya,

We moved 2 weeks ago. We are now in Tarpon Springs. Love it here. Moved to a nice neighborhood, but the house needs a lot of work. That’s okay. Gives me something to do (I’ll boss my husband around to get it done!). They used to call me Bossy-pants where I worked. Hey, I always asked nicely, so not sure why. Anyway, so glad you and your family are ok.

    Bella, are you okay?

    Divine- You ok?

  • divinemrsm

Candy, thanks for asking. Well, the preliminary bone scan results aren’t good. After 5 months on the Ibrance/Aromasin, which I started because there was bone met progression to the T1 vertebrae, there is now progression around the T5 vertebrae. So the onc wants to switch me from Ibrance to Verzenio while staying on Aromasin. It’s a huge disappointment about the Ibrance. I’m processing the info this morning and as many of you can imagine, its like a kick in the gut. Onc says ct scan looks good.

I posted on the Versenio thread because I know nothing about it.

Aw crap Divine. I am really really sorry to hear this. I can understand your feelings. I progressed during my first three months on I/L and I'm remembering how disappointing that was. You'll be okay Divine and you'll get started on your new treatment but I'm shaking my fist a little bit here. I know you wanted to stay on the Ibrance. Hug.

I am also so sorry to read of your progression and having to switch drugs Divine. It is always such a blow everytime something progresses. All my best to you.
