Sadly, the trailer is gone and even if it was found, it now belongs to the insurance company. The credit union will get their check this week and we’ve been paid the extra of the value above the loan balance. Fortunately, the replacement has been ordered, it’s a bit better layout for us and I’ve secured financing at less than 1/2 the interest rate we were paying.

I’m off to bed, big day tomorrow, if the weather channel predictions pan out. We are ready and confident, I just don’t like when landfall hits overnight.

    Moth,

That is hysterical about the bundt cake. Olive knows when something smells good....too funny.

Neither Tanya nor I are anywhere near the hurricane. It’s headed towards the Western Gulf. Mae, sounds like you’ve been through this a few times, and you said you are a bit North of the center. I am still praying that no one gets hurt. A Cat. 3 is nothing to mess with. Stay safe.

Morning Mel and all. Good coffee Mel! I’m imagining sitting in your living room in my jammies chatting the morning away. With good coffee, of course. Will be thinking of you and your family as you make the decision about Tag. Take care.

Oh no Moth, that is too funny. Sorry about the bundt cake. Glad to hear you are getting so much enjoyment out of the baking.

I have gone on my first walk today. oNice and cool compared to yesterday. Only 30 mins, think I will have all my walking done before noon and then shower for the day. Inefficient to have to shower twice a day. I am excited about my cubii mini eliptical though since then I can just pedal it while watching tv. It has already shipped from our Shopping Channel. Researched a lot before purchasing. Just wanted a small option of pedaling in the apartment and my chairs or couch are more comfortable. Not up to anything else today other than surveys. Have a good day all.

Moth - I love funny dog stories. They can be stinkers when we’re not looking. Reminds me of when our granddoggy ate a plate of Christmas cookies meant for us😜.

Micmel - we had a similar situation with another Golden. She was over 15 and had slowly declined to the point that she too was unable to get up. We would have to do the same thing you’re doing with Tag - help her up, tried using a sling and were hand feeding her. Went on for a month until she started soiling herself and we knew it was time. I cried and prayed she’d pass in her sleep....but no such luck. You are in my thoughts and hope Tag lets you know when it’s time. HUGS.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Well, Laura is a cat 3 already, which is a bit quicker than I expected but still ok from where I live. We may see some rain and tropical storm force wind gusts but I looks to hit our Lake Charles, LA friends head on. We offered to have them and their weenie dogs but they are riding it out.

Our German friend manages a local grocery store and says people are going crazy. I do enjoy the non-American perspective on these things, in most situations I have to laugh at ourselves. He did make sure to stash several cases of water for his household and ours before the shelves were emptied. I think this is his 1st Hurricane, should be interesting.

Anyway, all is well here, just watching and waiting.

Mae, glad you're not in the direct path of the hurricane and hope it weakens, but wishing good luck to your friends in Lake Charles.

Wishing the best for all in the path of the hurricanes and wildfires. We'e on fire in Colorado, nowhere near me, thank goodness, and nowhere as bad as Calif., but it sure has been smokey. Mel, your masks have come in handy for smokey air, too!

Moth, too funny about the bundt cake! Puppers know yummy goodness when they smell it, too! I always think about the scene in my Big Fat Greek Wedding, too, whenver I hear "bundt cake."

Happy Wednesday to all. Stay safe.

Fire. That is super scary also. If it's not covid it's fire. If it's not fire , it's the hurricanes. Geeze we can't catch a break as a nation. Crazy stuff going on.

I met my new palliative care doctor and she was really nice, my other one I had for four years. I was really upset. She was with me every step. It broke my heart. This one listened and didn't change anything on me. I am feeling relieved. Another bonus was I lost ten pounds. Added bonus!! I'd like to continue that one. Maybe another 40 I'd be happier. It's not that bad but enough that I'd like to take more off. It's difficult to loose any weight this medication that we take. It's almost just eating once a day honestly. I'm not a hungry person too much. I go in spits and spurts. I'll take the weight loss. Thank you!

    Cross posting---

Just an update on my Ibrance/neutropenia issues. To recap, at the beginning of the last cycle my ANC was 700 after my week off. MO told me to start cycle. Oookkaayy???!!!! But I did. We rechecked blood 2 weeks later and ANC had dropped to 500. Told to stop Ibrance and recheck lab in 1 week. Recheck was yesterday morning. No results by end of workday yesterday. This morning got message ANC is now 900 and we are going to try the on 5 days/ off 2 days scheduling. I will start that tomorrow with breakfast.

On Monday, 2 days ago, I messaged MO nurse that I wanted appt with MO to discuss ideas I had. MO nurse wanted me to message my list of ideas so MO could read over and be ready. Sounded good. I know some on BCO have said they email questions to their MO's so they would be ready for appt. Today I got message MO would try to call me between patients today. It is now 6pm and no call today. Disappointed. I have order to do the 5/2 dosing starting tomorrow, but I feel like my concerns, our communication, is not important to MO. Maybe she had an emergency, but I wonder if I am bugging MO too much with my messages to nurse. That they regret taking me as a patient. Maybe I am wrong.

All this time, with all these neutropenia issues, my communication with my new MO has been thru typed messages. First appt with her was July 13 and next appt is scheduled Sept 28.

So, to summarize-- trying on 5 days off 2 days schedule and see if neutropenia gets better. Do not know when next lab is supposed to be done.

    Sigh....

Candy, my belief would be that the MO would not regret you emailing questions. TBH not enough people are that involved in their own care so questions could and should be welcomed. I am sorry she did not get back to you but stay on top of it. You are the most important person to advocate and ask questions. I would not worry if they regret taking you on. Ask what you need to ask, if the MO does not follow up tomorrow, call back. Your health is more important than the feeling of bothering people. I hope they get back to you soon.

Ok, ladies, so I guess I freaked out too soon. My MO just called-- 7:30pm.

We are going to do 5/2 scheduling. Recheck CBC every 2 weeks for the month. If cannot tolerate 5/2, will try on 3 weeks/ off 2 weeks. Ok with moving to Verzenio if need be. And scans due end of Sept so assuming all will be stable. May do bone marrow biopsy if I continue to have issues to rule out anything else going on.

    She was friendly.

We have a plan. That is good.

Candy, so glad she called you back. She sounds like she really cares if she can call you at 7:30. My MO is the same way. I am surprised when I get a call after hours. I hope you are feeling better now that you’re starting a plan that hopefully will help your ANC

Candy glad that the MO called you. Calling after hours shows she does take you seriously. I am glad too that you have the treatment schedule and hopefully the new schedule will help your neutropenia.

Mae, so glad to hear that. It sounds like it came ashore as a Cat 4. My thoughts are with those who were affected with damage and displacement, or worse. 😢

thank goodness Mae! Our correspondent live from Texas. I hope those effected by this terrible storm will be safe and I hope the damn thing just goes away.

The weather channel folks love drama! It was big and dangerous but survivable, our friends in Lake Charles made it through, today they’re checking damage and cleaning up.

Mae, so glad it missed you. Earlier in the week we here in Dallas were really hoping for some outside rain bands to come through, but looks like the jog East it took probably nixed that. Looking at 101 and dry tomorrow.

so weird how one place could be flooded and another need water so much. This is is mad mad world.

  • melissadallas

Micmel, part of it boils down to how truly huge Texas is. Although Dallas is hundreds of miles from the coast, every once in a while we get days of sometimes flooding rains and even high wind from gulf coast hurricanes. How many people think of Arkansas getting pounded? This time they will

Glad everyone is all right and not in the path of the hurricane.

I just got something in the mail that I ordered the other day. I have been concerned about my weight even though I walk so much. Wanted something besides walking to do so I purchased the Cubii mini eliptical that was 100 less than its normal price. This thing is heavy duty, weighs almost 30 pounds and easy to assemble. I have used it on my couch for 2000 strides which is equivalent to 1000 walking steps. I was also sweating. For anyone who getting out of a chair or weight bearing excercise is a difficult thing to do, I highly recommend it. It can and does give a good workout. It is also small enough that I can move it. My plan is to use it for 10000 strides eventually most days. A stride is supposed to be equivalent to a step. I can go fast on low or bump up the resistance to mimic a hill. I plan to keep walking but this is good for those days my feet hurt, and does not take up as much room as my exercise bike. My back appreciates it. It has thousands of 5 star reviews as well.

my craft desk has arrived. DH put it together for me and I love it. I’m thrilled. Just waiting on the file cabinet now to store my fabrics in and my patterns etc. I feel so lucky to be getting these. I am so appreciative and happy some days.

I try really hard to do that. It’s difficult, but what other choice do we have.?? I am going to try to enjoy every single minute I can. It matches our new tv stand and bookcases. Ties everything together.

Very nice desk, good size to spread out on as needed. Always good when you can match the other decor a bit as well.

I have been pedaling away on my cubii elliptical while sitting on the couch. I can say it certainly can make you sweat even for such a small machine. I quite enjoy it. Will be a welcome addition to my gym. Also is more comfortable than my exercise bike was. Nice not to need to put shoes on for it. Cats don't like it yet but they will get used to it.
