micmel I know you don't want to get out but it's important for you to get tested for the flu within the first two days of symptoms. Tamiflu is only effective if you start it by day two. Can anyone take you to your PCP? I just got over the flu and I think Tamiflu did help me. Also, go off Ibrance while you're sick.

Lynne, sorry to hear of your progression! Hoping they get you on a protocol that gets you to a better place!
Micmel! Please take care and watch that fever carefully!!!! Praying it fades away!!!!

I have been reading and silently saddened by the recent losses. It frightens me but then there is always a post to follow with encouragement to live each day fully. Doctors appts. and tests engulf our life but somehow we find some enjoyment and happiness and survive. Thanks to each and every one of you for being apart of my survival.
Lynne 50's...so concerned to hear of your progression. I hope your appt. goes well and you can stay on the meds that you prefer. Changing anything in this fight is scary. Happy you got to ski. I never did it but watched my DH and children do it. I was pregnant so just observing the fun, standing at the bottom of the mountain - smiling.
Micmel I'm so sorry that you are ill. Did you call your DR.? Sometimes they prescribe the tamiflu and it will reduce the amount of time etc. Get some rest. Being sick on top of cancer is awful. Eat and drink well.
I've been reading everyone's posts. The beautiful picture that MJH shared is indeed a tranquil spot. I imagine that spot as it goes through the seasons each change more breathtaking than the next. Thank you.
Mae you always have dinner plans for cooking. So I'm going to take your motivation and go make some chicken soup for myself and my DH. He loves to come home and smell food.
Yesterday I went out with my DD and my two brothers and their mom. We ate at a local restaurant and just had normal table conversation. The food was delicious and we all tried each others dishes. It was a loving gesture by my family and it made my day.

love to all you wonderful ladies !I loved it when Tanya said thank you for being part of my survival! Awesome way to look at things. Checking in when awake. Love to all ~M~ So sick flu is horrible, pain in bones and every muscle. Fever tinkering around 100. Hope It doesn't go any higher. Love you guys!
Nan❣️❣️ Still thrilled to hear from you.
Our sister Z~ from the other threads whom I am sure you all know needs our boost as well as she ventures to a new clinic to try to get perhaps new TX. We know we all don't like change. But we love our sisters. Thinking of you Z. Always willing to lend a kind word of support. We love you too Z!! ~M~

Micmel, I agree with others here who recommend that you go to doctor to get tested for flu. Tamiflu is the only thing that will help, and, and as others have said, it needsto be started early.
Lynne, Those Pats are going to give me a heart attack. I don't know if I will live through the Super Bowl. I guess they like the drama of scoring in the fourth quarter. Well, at least Brady's thumb was ok. Now we need to get Gronk back.
I will post later about my good visit with my MO. Thank you all for your support.
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

my dear Lynne 50s girl, wishing the best for you. Tomorrow I become a first day 60s girl, think I will become Minnie 60 lol. Day after the big 60, bloods, heart test, visit with Oncologist and possibility of treatment. Fingers crossed for longer life, our greatest desire, my stage iv sisters. Xx

MJH-Yes we had a nice weekend at camp. We saw a few bob houses on the lake as we call it, even though it's name is Jenness Pond. There were a few snowmobiles during the day, and at night, there were a couple of pickups going across the lake and doing donuts. Either alcohol was involved, or they are just plain nuts. I'm sure there is some melting going on today (it's suppose to get up to 47). Very icy last night (over 100 accidents just in Manchester) and this morning. Now it's pouring out. The Androscoggin runs through NH up north (is that where you live? I worked in high school one summer in Berlin.), great pic! Here is a pic from this weekend (I wish I had a fireplace here at home!).
Hope everyone has a relaxing Tuesday (that's what I'm doing)! Lynne

Lynne(Man) love the fireplace photo! an indoor serenity scene! I live in Southern Maine, 30 miles north of Portland. We visited Berlin, NH a lot growing up as a good friend of ours worked at the fish hatchery there. The Androscoggin is much cleaner now than when the paper mills were filling it with chemicals. We have those same nimrods here who drive their trucks out on the ice, or try to jump over open water on their snow machines, etc. Mainers might say they are "numb as hakes", which is a sluggish salt water fish! Anyway glad you had a super weekend away.
Lynne(50's) Like that you wrote "good visit with MO". Yeah, how 'bout those Patriots? We are fans, and my sister is what I would call a worshipper! How do they always pull it out in the 4th quarter?
Tanya-sounds like a really fun lunch with family, and I can practically smell the chicken soup! I made one of those meals last night that you just don't know where it's going. Had boneless chicken thighs- breaded with panko crumbs, oven baked in butter and olive oil. OK, now what? Thin spaghetti, olive oil, calamata olives, artichoke hearts, parmesan cheese, S&P. Green salad. Done! Tasty!
Micmel- how are you feeling, sweetie? Flu often has high fever, so hopefully not that. Rest easy, feel better STAT! (i don't settle for ASAP anymore!)
Minnie-hope you got through your day of testing, etc relatively unscathed. Happiest of Birthdays- a biggie with a zero at the end.
Gracie- hopefully your bleeding is not bugging you anymore. Usually nothing serious, but a nuisance and not comfortable. The Ibrance/Letrozole becomes easier as you learn what to expect personally.
Sending love to all of my MBC sisters today. may the force be with you! MJH

Today didn't start out the way I had planned. I'm OK but I had a wreck on the way to get my PET. 😱 There was heavy traffic, a lot of stop and go and I was so tired (no coffee). At about 45 minutes on the Highway, a car stopped in front of me and I guess I misjudged the distance and plowed into his bumper. My car is very smooshed and had to be towed. His was drivable.
So, not plan A. My friend came to get me and take me to the PET. My daughter met the tow truck and followed them to the collision repair place. She also made arrangements for me to get a rental car. It's been a long day and I'm glad to be home. I wasn't going very fast, thank goodness, so I was not hurt and neither was the guy I hit.

In a good old irish pub last week, fiddles playing, a couple of good friends along too. Me on the left, wearing the wig for warmth!! Miss the warm pubs of Ireland but good to see the sunny skies of Spain.
Sorry about your accident Grannax, always at the most inconvenient time.
Micmel, hope you are feeling better x

Lynne man - I love a fireplace. It looks so cozy and warm.
MJH - your food sounds delicious. I’m. It cooking today. Enjoying the perks of cooking leftovers. I made chicken and rice with a green vegetable called mouklia so we’re set for today.
Michel - I pray you’re getting better ASAP

Micmel, I hope you are feeling better and/or you called the doctor and are getting help if you need it. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and get better soon.
Lynne, That picture of the fireplace is beautiful and calming. It's just what I could use with all the icing today. What happened to the 50 degree day that was forecast?
Minnie, The picture you posted is lovely. You wig looks so natural. You look beautiful. Happy birthday. I am already in my sixties, too. My 50sgirl name is misleading. I was born in the 50s, but most people think it means that my age is in the 50s.
Grannax, wow, you still made it for the PET even after the accident? You are a better woman than I am. I think I would have gone home and crawled under the covers. I hope you don't feel sore tomorrow from the accident. I am glad no one was hurt. When will you get the results of the scan?
Tanya, Dinner with some family members sounds wonderful. I like the idea of trying each other's dishes. I can't tell you how often I look at my dh's food and wish I had ordered what he did.
MJH, I have to admit that I thought the Patriots were going to lose half the games they ended up winning this season. I actually started clapping and cheering when Gilmore knocked down that pass the other day. That wouldn't be unusual for someone who was at the game, but I was sitting on the couch in my family room. Luckily, my DH is well awareness of the fact that I am a bit crazy.
Gracie, I hope the bleeding has decreased or stopped. I had nosebleeds during my first few cycles of Ibrance. The SEs of that medication seem to vary from one person to another and from one cycle to the next.
Update on my MO appointment: My MO had planned to change my medication because new lung nodules and prominent lymph node combined with TMs that have increased steadily for several months in a row suggest progression. We talked about it, and he said that if I had only the lung issues without the TMs, he would be willing to leave me on current meds and rescan in 3months. Benign nodules would not grow in that period of time, mets would. I asked if the nodules could be from the cough, cold, and wheezing I had a few weeks before scans, and he said that it is possible. After more discussion, he said he would be willing to leave me on faslodex and ibrance for three months then rescan. Otherwise, I would go on tamoxifen. Then he asked what I wanted to do. I told him I wanted to stay on I/F because I feel good and don't want to move on to something new until absolutely necessary. He is good with that, so we have a plan. Lesson learned, always listen to what MO has to say, ask questions, voice your opinions/concerns, and make sure MO is listening to what you have to say. You are the important one in the relationship, and your feelings count.Btw, I was pleased to hear that tamoxifen will be my next line of treatment. We shall see what April scan shows.
Hi to everyone else. I hope you are all avoiding the flu.
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne (the other one)

happy birthday Minnie. You join 50’s girl and me in the 60’s crew. I had my big 60 in sept
Grannax I’m so glad the accident was minor. That is a major wake up call. Thank God you’re ok.

Grannax~Just thankful you're not hurt or anyone else you were with. Just what we need ad if a pet scan isn't enough to start the day. I am so thankful you're ok. So thankful. It's been an icky week already!
Minnie~ you look adorable, never would have thought it was a wig beautiful lady. Looks like a nice pub with good friends. Exactly what is needed. Travel safely, stay warm, sending hugs across the miles.
MJH~ you're Always so kind. Such a breath of fresh air.
It's been a fog for a few days. I'm beat. Feeling slowly better. Hopefully each day, I will feel better. This one isseriously one for the books!
Lynne(Man)~lovely fire. Curling up to that would be wonderful. Glad you had fun. Sounds like some crazy people on ice. Scary falling into the ice. Good thing no one got hurt.
Lynne(50's)~glad you got a plan together. Sounds like you have a great oncologist, mine is good and extremely smart, he is however Japanese, so there is a small language barrier. So I have to write things down to remember to ask. Sometimes I wish that barrier wasn't there. But so far bringing me To remission, I cannot complain. I wish the same for you!
Much love to anyone I forgot to mention. I am a little out of it still. Much love ~M~

Grannax....how are you now? I haven't been on for a while but I don't see any posts from you since you told us about your flu. I hope by now you're starting to improve. It's almost two weeks.
If you could all spare me a few prayers and thoughts I'd be grateful. I'm having a full body bone scan and CT tomorrow and I'm a bit concerned about a stabbing pain I'm having in my left orbital region, the site of one of my tumours.

Leapfrog~sending many many good vibes And thoughts your way. Hoping it’s more muscular spasms more than anything. Glad to see you here, was hoping you were safe and enjoying your new garden! Will be thinking of you! Hugs ~M~

Leapfrog, will be praying for your appointment, that things go better than what you think they might.
Lynne, so glad your onc is allowing you to take some time before changing treatment, especially considering you are doing so well on Ibrance/Faslodex. Will hope and pray things work out and those spots are nothing but inflammation.
Micmel, so glad you started posting, was very very worried about you! Have been sending up prayers for quick and total healing, am so glad you said you are feeling just a little better. Will continue my prayers
Minnie, I love your wig. That looks like a wonderful place, very cozy!
Grannax, oh gosh, you had such a hard time with that wreck. Hoping and praying you have no after affects and that you heal from whatever jolt you had in the car. Also will be praying that the car gets fixed quickly for you so you don't have the added stress! (so glad you are ok!)
Still having a bloody nose, almost every day now, but it doesn't last long, it's just enough that I know it's there. Scary though.

Leapfrog, I am praying for you as you go for your scans. I hope the results are better than you fear.
Micmel, Take it easy and continue to improve.
Grannax, How are you feeling today? I hope you aren't sore from the accident.
MJH and Lynne, I heard that only four states are cheering for the Patriots in the Super Bowl - MA, NH, ME, and ND. Not sure where N Dakota's opinions came from, but I was surprised that none of the other New England states are backing the Pats. Micmel, are you an Eagles fan? Maybe you are more of a Steelers fan. I don't know what part of PA you are from.
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

I did wake up sore from the wreck. It's just my neck. I think my car will be totaled. It's old with a lot of miles. But, it was just perfect for me. Now what to do? I was not thinking I'd have to buy another car, ever. That's not what I want to spend my money on. Things that happen when you are doing MBC.!!!!! The world won't stop while we focus on PET scans and results.
But, at least I got the PET done, in spite of the wreck. And will get results on Thursday. I don't think I could have handled rescheduling for the fourth time.
It's hard to focus on car stuff while waiting on results. So, I think I'll wait till after results to focus on car stuff.......pray for good ones.

Slowly I am coming out of this. It really kicked my rear end. I mean like I at points was crying, the muscle aches and just sickness and cold and coughing. Went from feeling fine on Sunday at 4:00 pm then wham, started with just a little twinge of just not feeling right. Then head cold congestion for one day then moved into throwing up and not keeping even water down. I feel like worn out! Tired but tired of sleeping and laying down all the darn time. Totally wiped out and hating every second of it all. Still not totally better, I am sick of feeling sick, wether it's a plain cold. Or cancer. It's infuriating actually! No matter what we do, we are constantly fighting for feel good days. So sad when I really think back.
I am indeed an Eagles fan. Have always been. I am not however a mean eagles fan. Not in the least. I don't see the need to be that way. Not everyone from Philly is that way I promise you that. I live about an hour north of philly! Born and raised in this area. I think personally the only reason limited states are wanting the pats to win which surprises me., is because of the 13 years ago game and the fact that it's obvious your team is awesome. Deflate gate was played up as they do just about everything. Truth is they are good. It should be a good game. I just already know it's going to be fabulous game! Just checking in. Going back to nap. Slowly I will return and catch up! Much love ladies and thank you for the well wishes. This one is a baddddd one. Please don't any of you catch it!! Please!!! ~M~

Minnie-great picture, and I agree, your wig looks natural (unlike mine). Hope you are enjoying your trip!
Lynne-Those Pats are giving us a heart attack, most games! Always getting it done in the 4th quarter. My husband goes to bed early, most nights (he's up at 4am), so if it is one of those 8.30 games, he usually only lasts the first quarter, and my daughter and I are yelling in the room below our bedroom. LOL I'm surprised that not all of the New England states are not routing for the home team. All of my friends in different states (some that are originally from NH) are all routing for them. Gronk is my favorite! I hope he's ok for the Super Bowl, at least he gets an extra week to get better. Sounds like you're oncologist is doing the right thing. Mine did the same when I had a cough and the nodules showed up on my scans. Who do you see there? I see Gina Divenuti. I was on Faslodex for 1 1/2 years. Hated those shots. I'm a side sleeper and would be bruised in my hips for weeks. Ibrance I did separately, and it lasted 6 months. I was on Xeloda for 2 and 1/2 years, and the side effects were minimal. Just fatigue (like all of them LOL) and the hand and foot peeling. It's a pill besides, and I would only have to go in once a month for blood work. I know, what happened to our 50 degree day, it only got up to 35! No melting. Today though, the wind is blowing the ice off the trees, maybe there will be some melting. Both of my cars are still encased in ice. They are in the shade all day. Good thing I don't have to go anywhere!
MJH-I worked at the Fish Hatchery (and the surrounding area), and stayed in the cabins there. It was the summer between my freshman and sophomore year (1977). It was called the YCC (Youth Conservation Corps). We cleared and maintained hiking trails, feed the fish, painted the state buildings, cooked for the 40 people, it changed weekly what our group (there were 4 of them) would be doing. There were 2 girl cabins, 2 boy cabins, and an adult cabin, as well as the cafeteria/shower/laundry/bathroom building. All the kids were from NH. I lost 10 lbs that summer, and I was only 130 then! I hated football growing up because my father always had it on our only tv. He had every sport on, changing with the seasons. I think I was 12 when they finally got another tv, of course he got the big tv! I started watching after he passed away 13 years ago (I was diagnosed for the first time 4 months after he passed) at 68. I was in the color guard in high school, and marched in all the football games. I loved going to the games, but had no clue on all the calls. I tape all the Pats games, just in case we are not home, but try to catch them all. I've been to 2 preseason games (nice and warm in August) and 2 regular season games, thanks to the free tickets my hubby gets from the plumbing supply people he orders from. You can see much better on tv, but the buzz in the stadium is awesome. Go Pats!
Grannax-Sorry about your accident. I hope you are feeling better today. I hope your scans come out great!
Leapfrog-Sending prayers your scans came out good!
Micmel-Glad you are feeling better. My granddaughter and her father (our eldest) both have the flu. They were both over my house on Sunday for a family dinner (we do it every other week). Ryleigh has these big brown eyes, and boy were they sick looking. We took her temp, and she was 102. We had some children's tylenol, and gave her some. It went down. The only time I was near her was when she hugged me around my waist with her face the opposite direction. Her mother brought her to to dr's the next day, and she has type A (the mildest). My son had gone to urgent care last week and they gave him antibiotics for a sinus infection. Yesterday and today he stayed home from work, and missed his class yesterday. My daughter bought and brought him a thermometer, tylenol, and day and night flu medicine. Typical guy only has kid's medicine. My daughter didn't go in (he took my advice and was taking a cold shower to bring his temp down, he said his head was on fire), and left the bag between the storm and back door. They usually visit on Mon and Wed (when he has her, and also every other weekend, free supper!), but not this week. I just hope nobody in my house gets it. My white cells were down (as they have been the past few times, but come back up a week later for chemo), I certainly don't need it. Of course my husband, my son, and my son-in-law, never get the flu shot. They say it just gives you the flu, or doesn't work. MEN!
Gracie-As a kid, I had a bloody nose every in the fall and winter. Finally, when I was 12, I had it cautherized. I never had another one until I got pregnant with number one. I rarely have one now. I can't remember when. Do you have a humidifier going? Have you tried petroleum jelly or neosporin put in your nose with a q-tip (especially at night). I know that helped my boys that got them every day too. What a pain!
Hugs and prayers for everyone! It sounds like most of us need them!

Lynne (Man), I do have a humidifier going all the time due to the cold and the gas heat is running a lot! Dries things out. Never thought about Vaseline, but will definitely give that a try, thanks for that tip

back with a vengeance Went to doctors, got two shots one for nausea and one for pain. Not better tonight. Being admitted for fluids. It is the flu. So sick. Not good. Rest well ladies I'll check in when I can. Much love ~M~

Micmel, I am sorry things took a turn for the worse. Rest well, follow recommended treatments, and get well. I hope you are well and able to return home soon.
Here is a picture of my street that was turned into a winter wonderland of ice-coated trees this morning.

Thanks Lynne (50's) ~ leaving soon. Hope they don't admit me. Little freaked out. Never been this bad sick with flu before! Beautiful picture your shared. Just beautiful!
Mae~ anyone ever tell you that those icon pictures look exactly like you? They are meant for you. It is uncanny! I hope to feel better soon. Feel freaked out, not normal for me at all. I am always the last one to get it.!
Hope everyone is doing ok.
GrannaX sorry your car ouch. And ouch for your neck. Take care of you honey.
Love to all. Check in soon ill try! ~M~

Lynne(50) - I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it is beautiful! We had a Huge ice storm when we lived in Cincinnati, I remember that it was so beautiful when the sun came out! Of course it was devastating to our area, we had not gotten in any firewood yet, and the electric was out for 36 hours. I burned anything I could find in our fireplace! We were so cold! The streets were a solid sheet of ice, the trees had not dropped their leaves yet, and they were encased in ice. Of course, branches were breaking left and right, that's why no power! But it was beautiful with the sun twinkling in the ice!
Micmel - Oh no! You rest up! Fluids will help!
Leapfrog and Grannax - praying for good results tomorrow. Anything else is unacceptable! I tell my Mo that and he laughs!
No more sickness, you guys! Enough, already! We need to gear up for Spring! I don't know about you, but I have some serious planting to do! I will send pictures of our camping trip in a couple of days.
Hugs and prayers,
C

Micmel-so much for the flu only exhibiting high fevers. Poor you. The genuine article flu is nasty and bummer that you are suffering through it now. Hopefully they will rehydrate you in ER, then let you go home. Need it gone STAT! Where are you in Ibrance cycle?
Lynne(Man)-did you ever meet a Bill Walentine while woking at the hatchery? Sound like a really fun summer. Those were the days, right? I guess the PATS fans are a small but mighty group! I like Gronk also-he reminds me of my neighbor's son.
Lynne(50's)-Ice storms are double edged swords-so beautiful, but a nuisance with the slippery roads and power outages. We were without power for about 3 hrs last night. You must feel pleased about staying the course with the Ibrance. Yay!
Grannax- OMG, a flipping car accident? and on PET scan day? Just what you didn't need just now. Best thing, of course, nobody hurt seriously. Sounds as though you do have a little whiplash; must be sore. Thank goodness you got that dang scan done. I'm in your corner fingers crossed for great results.
Leapfrog- in your corner, too. fingers crossed for great scan results!
Minnie- LOVED the photo! Put me right back in Dublin! and you look MAHVELOUS!
Tanya-tell me about Mouklia
Hi Bighome, Mae, and Gracie!
Love to each and......may the force be with you MJH
