Keetmom~ cannot have Emma in the hospital please feel better. Docs told me flu is rampant now stay in. Gee thanks! Everyone needs to get better. Dealing with cancer is enough. I actually cried today. I felt so sick! The nurses were so nice and I got a great woman doctor. One thing about cancer and stage four at that. I no longer wait in any waiting rooms any time my PC or the ER. They know. If I show up its gotta be bad! I never go. I have to be dragged in and let me tell you that's exactly what happened today. Pathetic sight actually I know I was! I'm tired of being sick already. Throw chemo in there and it's just too much to take. I'll find out how long I have to stop the ibrance in the morning. Personally I need the break. I would love to stop all treatment if it just wouldn't spread. My life is spent now with what ifs and if onlys. Sucks. My son already went to bed, round number two with him I am positive. Doctors first thing for sure for him. Since we already know ! Rest well sisters. I adore each and everyone of you and our family here we create together makes me so happy, it's like coming home, 🏡. When I check in. It's honestly wonderful ! Hugs and much love to all!
Claudia~ you did it ! Tricky tricky! Thanks sweety!
MJH~The Lynne's ~Grannax~Minnie~Leapfrog! Hugs to you all and I am Thinking of the ladies and scans For only good test results !
Much love ~M~

hi Ladies, so many things going on. Have to confess in Europe we know nothing of Super Bowl sports of any kind. Hope your team wins!!
Micmel, take care and get better. Grannax, don't know how you carried on after the crash, I think I would have given up and gone back to bed.
50s girl, we are both 50s girls then, sounds better!
Yesterday had my 19 th treatment, heart FEV1 back to 55%. So went ahead. Oncologist said another person was having their 67th treatment, so maybe I'm safe for another couple of years? TAC with contrast due before next appointment on 14 February. I'm sure things are done so differently than in USA . Also have the language barrier here, speaking Spanish and English between us, however my Oncologist is wonderful.
Stay warm ladies, drive carefully, have a good day. Love to all xx

Grannax, very sorry to hear about your accident, scary! Glad you weren't seriously hurt. Micmel, so glad that you went to the doctor but sorry to hear that it's the flu. Hope the fluids make you feel better. Rest up, it takes awhile for a well person to recover from the flu, so for us it will take even longer. Hope everyone else stays well!

micmel Sorry you have to be in the hospital but it sounds like they take good care of you there. You need all the TLC. You can get.
I feel better today, not as sore as yesterday. My DD ans DS helped me out yesterday. They drove out to get a car that my DD FIL said I could borrow. Then I took the rental car back. One step at a time. Those rentals add up fast.
Meanwhile, I had a major plumbing issue and my bathroom floor flooded. So, I had to. Figure out how to get all that cleaned up. What a mess. Life give me a break.
Yes, after the wreck I was stunned, but very focused on getting the blankety blank PET over with. When my friend showed up to take me I was relieved. I don't think I had enough adrenaline ( no coffee) to be nervous. I was kinda in a state of shock.
Now for today, it's get the results and come back home to crash. Thankful I have a car to drive.

thinking of you all today. Hope results are good. Am thinking about you. Sending positive vibes! And thoughts. Much love ~M~
Now son has it ugh! Bad bad bad

Grannax, Good grief!!! Plumbing issues are horrible, and they always seem to come at the worst possible time. Of course, there is never a good time. You definitely need a break. I hope your troubles are behind you. II am glad that you are feeling a bit better and that you have a car to use. Iam sending positive thoughts for your PET scan results. Let us know how they are.
Micmel, I hope you are starting on the road to recovery. Are you home?
Hugs and prayers to all, Lynne

Micmel, so sorry to hear you have this bug. It's a bad one! I was so sick before Christmas, sitting on toilet with a bucket in my lap, you know what I mean. It left me wrung out for weeks. I told everyone I was too sick and stressed to do Christmas dinner so I cancelled it - BONUS! Get better soon, we all hate that you are sick.

Micmel-Hugs! Hope you didn't have to stay over. Get some rest!
MJH-Bill's name doesn't ring a bell, it was 41 years ago though, LOL! I think there might have been a Bill though. I'll have to drag out our "yearbook".
Lynne-That is what our street looked like. Some of the trees out back still are covered in ice. The wind yesterday and today, took down a lot of it. I love the beauty after the ice storm. Both of our cars are still encased in ice. They are in the shade. Half our driveway is a skating rink too (the shady end). My husband has a company car, so our cars don't get used too much, just on the weekends.
Hope everyone is having a good day!
Lynne

Hi guys! I am home yes. But again like I thought, my son was a quivering mess. I almost had to carry him into the doctors office and I had to drive him. He’s got it now. It’s a mess. It’s just like a rolling storm, hitting each and everyone of us like a hurricane! Brutal. Just saying hello and coming up from a nap. I’ll catch up soon. Thanks lovely ladies ! Hope good results and Grannax sorry about your neck honey! We all have enough to deal with already. Hugs and love ~M~

My MO described my PET as stable. That's a good word to sum up a complicated report. The short story is that I don't have to change TX. Mets are still active in lungs and chest at about the same uptake as the August scan. Liver still shows no uptake.
To me, it sounds like IF is is still working by keeping the mets from being more active. So, I agree that it's good to stay on my TX. Of course we'd all like to hear it's getting better, but not getting worse and no new mets is good news for all of us in the MBC club.
I'll take stable and move on. Now, if my house and car were stable, I'd be happy.😀

Grannax, I have been waiting to hear your results.WOOHOO for stable! I love that word. All is good. You must be relieved. Now we just need to solve your house and car issues. For now, just relax and enjoy the good news. WOOHOO!
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Micmel I hope your flu is getting better. i hate going to the hospital and staying. Do whatever you are told and get yourself better.

A friend of mine made this vegetable for me and I found out it's very nutritious. She's Egyptian American. The frozen vegetable is sold here. she made it with garlic, chicken broth, some tomatoes. My husband likes it with rice. I eat it because it's good for me.

Lynne that icy street is beautiful but deceptively scary.
Grannax your PET sounds wonderful. Stable is good. And now for the car.
Micmel glad to see you are home. Drink fluids. Did they give you tamaflu? I also took zicam which is zinc I think it's supposed to shorten the amount of time the cold lasts.
Get well soon my dear.

Leapfrog, When will you get the results of your scans? I hope you don't have to wait too long.
Tanya, What does molokhia taste like? Is it sweet? Bitter? Salty? Is there any other vegetable with a similar taste? When you make it with rice, do you serve it mixed with the rice or on the side Do you add the garlic, chicken broth, and tomato as your friend does? I have never noticed it in the store, but I am going to look for it.
Minnie, Your oncologist has a patient having her 67th treatment and you just had your 19th? That is encouraging, isn't it? I hope you find the treatment to be successful for at least that long. You will be having a scan in just a few week? When was your last one?
Have a good night everyone. For those of you who are sick or in pain or recovering from a car accident, rest up and get well soon. For everyone else, stay away from those flu germs, stay healthy and safe.
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Grannax, stable is great. Tanya, I watched programme on tv recently about African women cooking with veg that we never see in shops. They looked very much like your picture. Also, showed they were much higher in iron than anything we normally use. For those of us who struggle to keep iron levels up, it's good to know. Will check our markets, as we do have a number of North Africans in Spain, and many times I haven't recognised some of the products.
Micmel, rest, don't be overdoing anything x
Lynne, 19th cycle of pertuzumab/ttastuzamab. I normally have scan every 3 months, so last was November . Here the Oncologist requests the tests and then I get a phone call when to go. Doppler heart test again before next treatment. Seems as long as my heart is ok, we continue. Having a lie in this morning, going out this evening to celebrate 60 years. DH is out walking on a breezy sunny morning.
Everyone else, wish you all successful results, avoid that awful flu, keep warm, sending love

good morning ladies. Wow what a rough week guys. I don't even know what day it is. I am. Still in bed. My son is still in bed, we both look as pathetic as pathetic can get. I have to say....this has been really crazy, I have never had a flu like this, that I can even remember. I lost a week again. At least it wasjust a week. Last time, caught in surgeries and heavy chemo. Bleh! I am still coughing and still dizzy. My doctor told me in two weeks they have seen 65 cases. It's the worst flu in a long time! At least here it is, they are running out of medicine and people are being forced to take medicine that their insurance isn't covering because it's that bad. One woman yesterday paid $165. for ten pills that were a brand her insurance wouldn't cover. People are just so sick everywhere. I have not seen anything like it since maybe my kids were in middle school!
I am going to start ibrance again Monday. For the 9 days left in the cycle. Have my week off as usual and begin a new month all over again. This way my blood and body has a chance to recover from my sickness flu before I have blood drawn. I am beat weak!! I want to feel better. You know the sad part is I realize when I do feel better, it will never really ever be feeling better the way I desperately want. I hope everyone is doing well. Stay healthy. Stay well. I'll catch up! Good results, hugs hugs ! (With masks of course) Much love ~M~

Grannax-Glad you got good results on your scan! I'm having my 2 CT and bone scans in two weeks. I've been on taxotere since June. Hate the side effects (I'm down for the following week), but if it works, I guess we just have to suck it up.
Micmel-Glad you didn't have to stay over. Sorry the rest of your family is getting it. So far, knock on wood, only my eldest and his daughter have got the flu. (Luckily, the don't live here, and have kept away all week!) Hopefully, it stays that wa
Hubby took me out for breakfast before my chemo today. Yummy banana crepes for me. Chemo went well. Only got 2 hrs sleep last night from the darn steroids, took a little nap this afternoon after getting home. I have 2 more days of steroids, then I will finally get a good night sleep on Monday! Can't wait, although that's when my "hell week" begins, with the side effects.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend, and everyone feels better!
Lynne

Grannax great news!
Micmel don’t push it just rest!!!
So my counts were way down today and tomorrow is my last day off. ANC 1.5 start again Sunday and if it’s further down next week they will talk about lowering the dose. Sigh. Am wiped out

Hoping all is well Gracie. I had to take a small break. First time for me since on ibrance. In fifteen full months. I have never been this sick while on this medicine. ! Hope all is well with everyone else! Much love ~M~
Hoping by Sunday to feel able to not nap on and off all day long! Have a great Friday

My sweet DH came up and surprised me this weekend. He was gong to stay at the other house this weekend, since I was so sick. His son now has it, so his ex is keeping his son, so he immediately came up here to take care of me, and be here with me after all this weekend. So I know I will be feeling better everyday. I know I am not really sleepy, I think the past five days have been spent sleeping so I have been up late tonight reading. Hope all is well. Everyone is safe and warm sleeping good.
Much love ~ M~

awake. A little better. It will be one week tomorrow. The flu honestly sucks. I am hoping my DS, can feel better faster because he was the one who had the flu shot. They are saying his will be less severe. Let's hope that is true. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I kept telling everyone that every treatment made me feel like I had the flu every day. I realize that is exactly how I feel everyday since I've had cancer. Not as severe Everyday, but while onheavy chemo absolutely! It's the way our bodies feel when our bodies immune system is battling a foreign substance, like chemo and the flu. It is our feelings of the bodies battle towards whatever doesn't seem right ! So it makes total sense. No wonder I hate the flu. Wow. I have spent the last week feeling like I spent everyday in chemo! Hope no one else gets this ~M~

Micmel-wow, what a rotten time. Sounds as though you are on the mend, however. How nice to have DH home for the weekend! I often describe my everyday feelings like the aches and pains of coming down with the flu. Can't imagine the flu on top of it. You must feel like opening all of your windows and "blowing the stink out", as Claudia might say!
Grannax- Stable is such great news! The mutations report is very confusing, though I only have the first two pages of mine. Mine came back with an actionable mutation, and suggestions for clinical trials. Often the more common mutations that drive cancers get the most attention as far as drug research. Good to have the info in your back pocket for possible future treatments. Hope the car issue is getting solved the way you want it to.
Gracie, My criteria for restarting Ibrance was ANC of 1.0. I stayed on the 125 dose for the whole 16 cycles. A few times I had to wait a week. It does wipe you out, though. I'd be in the midst of cooking something and say to DH, "I've got to lie down immediately"- Extreme exhaustion.
Tanya-thanks for the info about Molohkia!
Lynne(Man)- you have me really wanting some crepes! Thinking of you during your chemo hell week.
Love to all my MBC sisters, and may the force be with you. MJh

Doing well, we cleaned today and DH will be cooking tomorrow, everything for giant California style carne asada burritos and the movie will be Law Abiding Citizen. Finally finished up a huge multi million dollar emergency project and planning to get back to my other work but darn it if some tractor trailer didn’t hit a bridge, it never ends....
Hope you’re beginning to feel better micmel and that everyone else is doing good

Blueshine~I wanted to mention the time you spent living!!! That precious time with your grand baby. Is why we fight this awful disease. I realized mid week. This is How I feel every single day. Just x's like ten maybe. Viscous fast moving crazy ass bug! Keep well. And give the little one—— a baby tickle for me. I love the babies lil legs! Much love to all.

I got to be in my happy place Friday and Saturday......with my grandchildren. Aubrie wanted me to video her making truffles. She used a Julia Childs accent, only I had to explain to her who Julia Childs was. I don't know if it will end up on u tube, doubtful. Ha
My car was a total loss. The adjuster has been nice and I think the settlement is reasonable. As soon as I get the check, I should be able to add a little to it and find a suitable car for me.
I'm still contemplating my PET report and the F1 report. I have questions and doubts. One area in my chest actually showed more uptake, one a little less, multiple ones in lung are still the same, none have gone away. I'm disappointed because I had hoped for better. Stable is OK but I'm only one year into this, will my next scan show progression? That's my thought. Also, ESR1 indicates my tumors are resistant to AI, like femara. But, my doc did not even touch that subject. It would be an easy switch to faslodex. Why didn't she explain her thoughts on I that? Frustrated. Now its back in my corner to form a question that won't make her feel I'm questioning her intelligence. Also, on the F1, there's indication that my tumors are pretty aggressive and or hard to treat. There were no mutations that have an obvious targeted treatment. Lots of clinical trials though. So maybe one of those will be an option when I do have progression. It's all confusing and complicated. And, disheartening to those of us on this rocky ride through MBC.
