Thank you ladies for your prayers and concerns. It most definitely is harder to see her got through it, I would take it for her in a second. And yes, care is much better stateside than in the islands. And she is only 35.

    My baby girl.

    Thank you Santa.

Sevenofnine...Can you link the article please?

So I see a post above says bananas are not good for liver?? Is that only if your liver levels are high or just in general???

    Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Member Posts: 551

NicoleRod: I'm the banana's poster. They are fine if your liver levels are normal but they have too much glucose wich is not convenient if you have a fatty liver. Bananas and oranges are not the best fruits if you are trying to detox your liver. 😘

Hi Nicole, unfortunately it isn't letting me post a url. But, if you copy past the info below into a google search, the .pdf of the full article is the second item on the search results:

Benzimidazoles Downregulate Mdm2 and MdmX and Activate p53 in MdmX Overexpressing Tumor Cells. Molecules 2019, 24(11), 2152. Mrkvova, Z. et al.

Ok Ref the article and P53 how is that something so of us have or is that in all of our breast cancer??

Is that something that would show on my Foundation One results, like...if I have that mutation???

Sorry if I sound stupid just trying to learn

    :)

NicoleRod: p53 is a tumor suppressor protein wich is good. I didn't read the article but just yesterday I was reading that this protein is synthesyzed by niacin wich is vit b3 in form of nicotine acid so I think it is not a bad idea to supplement with niacin if whe are not getting enough from diet

I learned yesterday that there is such a protein. It is not common knowledge 😘

How is it you girls are so smart???? Most of this stuff just goes right over my head!

Goldie like you, I'm not so smart. Cureious is the smart one, but she’s recovering after having traveled all over Spain and Portugal. I just copied and pasted...

The research report on FZ basically says that the cancer cell is being attacked from 3 different angles, the micro tubules required to sustain life and proliferate, the increase in the cancer killer gene P53 AND the negative effect on cell glucose metabolism, which is a requirement for cancer cells to thrive.

Yndorian....niacin is one of the supplements Mc Falland used to block one of the pathways the cancer uses...so now we know why....Today, I'll celebrate by chasing my beer with a shot of niacin....only kidding...

Frisky: you have given me an excellent news! I was afraid that niacin was not good for hormonal bc. But I confess that I've been using it just for the pleasure of the hot redness. It's really cold here!

My update. Still not 100%. Urine still strong and yellow, low blood pressure and heart rate (heart rate low for me). Not a whole lot of energy. I should have started FZ on Monday-Wednesday. But I did not. I am on my week off from Xeloda, and will take next week off as well. Blood work on the 12th, onc on the 15th. It's almost a month now since I've been sick/not feeling well. I am sick of this!!!

I hate not having energy. I am not one to sit on my behind all the time, I'm always on the move!

Goldie: I want to apologize for asking about your daughter's kidney spot before. I had misunderstood, I do not know why I thought that spot had been discovered in March. Sorry

How long is it going to take that damned xeloda to stop giving you those side effects? I hope you get better soon. Hugs

Y, the kidney spot was seen before, in March. But she was still in the Virgin Islands. We don't want care there. The spot since March has doubled in size since she has been state side. As for the xeloda, I really don't think that is the reason. I've been on it for 4 years. I can only think it might be the X and FZ combined. I wish I knew.

Goldie, I don't know if this will be of any help to you, but my smelly urine has greatly diminished with the drinking of large amounts of limeade sweetened with stevia powder....my flow has also improved.

Snooky thank you for posting that article....I'm buying more FZ right now....I don't know how much longer it will be made available without a prescription

Frisky, Limeade as in Koolaid? I have some fresh limes, lemons and oranges, but I think Y said something about oranges being bad.

Goldie: oranges and specially orange juice have too much glucosa wich is metabolized by the liver and causes fatty liver. Lemmon 🍋is good for liver. I agree with Frisky.

That is very interesting about the Resolvin, Snooky.

My wife had a very high tumor burden in her liver, and when she started the xeloda, and it started to work, she actually got very ill. Her liver blood flow became nearly blocked and it almost killed her. It resulted in ascites and high bilirubin in her blood. I believe it was because the xeloda killed off so much cancer her liver, the dead tissue caused a reaction as her liver tried to cope with it. It slowly resolved, probably as her body re-absorbed the dead tissue. The doctors believe it was an inflammatory reaction, possibly immune related. She continued on the xeloda for just over a year, and it worked well, but almost too well at start. Too quickly, and that die off nearly put her liver over the edge.

It must be quite stressful for a liver to cope with 10's or 100's of grams of dead, internal tissue.

Goldie I used the juice of a dozen limes in a gallon of my super duper distilled and carbon filtered water, and started drinking couple quarts @ day...I'm feeling much better..good flow...no smell but on Monday I will get a Doxil infusion that I hope doesn't change everything...

Yes Husband, this is what alternatives call a healing crisis. I finished up ten rads last Thurs., then right back in the chemo chair for taxol this Mon. I did not feel well, so I started a water 2 day fast to give my liver a little help and I have delayed taking Fenben this week. Waiting to see how I feel in next couple of days. Right now, still no energy, weak, dizzy. Just been laying around in bed. Ready to start some protein drinks.

Y, if I do use any oranges, it would probably be only about a third of one to squeeze in water, and I don't drink orange juice, don't really care for it.

Frisky, your view is gorgeous! Not what one would think of NYC to be! I will make me some limeade later. We have a well, and our water is very good, and has been tested as well.

Glad to hear your wife is doing better, had to be a scary time for you both, for sure. I have asked my MO, if I need to change to some different for X, which I have been on for 4 years, could we go back later and try again. He said sure. So perhaps something to think about for your wife?

Snooky, hoping you are feeling better soon, I can certainly relate, but for different reasons. And rest is important during chemo and rads. As for protein drinks, I use Vega Sport. I may have posted that before. One scoop provides 20 grams of protein. I paid $31.00 for mine and it says it contains 19 scoops. But what ever you get, check the ingredients. I would stay away for Ensure and those others you find in Wal Mart and such.

Goldie, this country property is about 3 hours drive west of Manhattan in the Catskills mountains....it’s near the water reservoirs that provide the drinking water to NYC. It’s really pristine, and we see foxes, brown bears, deers and turkeys walk around...it’s really exciting for a city girl such as myself. Otherwise is extremely quiet, 10 acres zone, agricultural pollutants are not allowed, but there’s hardly any farms around here, just small organic coops.

Your property is humongous...I barely started to scratch the surface of your web site...it’s so impressive. I’m very happy for you, but sad you have to sell. However, at our age, the living is easy...is welcomed....

So after fighting with my MO over the schedule of my first infusion, after I finally yielded to having it on Monday, a week BEFORE the echocardiogram, he finally came to his senses and decided NO, I got to have the echo before the Doxil....ain’t that special? He came to his senses...sometime I wonder what the heck is goinon in our hospitals....but then why should this surprise me....health care is the number one killer, before heart attacks and lung cancer....so all of you friends out there: BE CAREFUL

Frisky, never been to that side of the country before, and as you can see, I'm a country girl! We have 80 acres off grid, it's 6 miles on a dirt road to get to pavement and that could take up to 30 minutes. I am assuming that one day things will take a turn for me, and where we are, hospital is 1 hour away, which I don't like that hospital. Prefer to go to Phoenix, which is 4 hours from us and where my MO is!
