Sherry, more congratulations on those beautiful grandbabies! I have two grandsons, with the little one turning 1 on Valentin's Day. There is NOTHING more wonderful than grandchildren! I moved 3 states away to be closer to them, and I love every minute I spend with them.

Congrats Sherry! Your granddaughters are precious! I hope you'll get to see them this weekend. I have an identical twin sister and have always thought it was a wonderful thing to have someone my own age around all the time. They will be best friends for life. Enjoy them!

Barbe, that sounds awful, hope you feel better soon.

I'm with Eph, Super Bowl party at marlegal's. And a very reluctant Go Patriots!

Janis, an RO is NOT an LE expert!!! This is serious shit!! Please get it checked out by a PT - ask your PCP to refer you, not your oncology team. Bypass your RO this way. My surgeon didn't "believe" in LE, thank God my regular doctor did!! Early treatment means I don't even wear garments or wrap. I do my own drainage treatments when I feel puffy. You HAVE to get this under control. Even if it is not LE at this point, it could turn into LE at any second!!

April, I get what you are saying. Sometimes I was relieved to get cancer, thinking I now had an excuse to let go and die. I know this is pretty heavy talking for this thread, but I hear your pain. I have had some pretty rough years behind me too and at many points have been at the edge of giving in.

April ~ dear sister, you will never be alone if you come here. Never. You will find all the support & love you can absorb right here with these wonderful gals. You have already opened the door & stepped through, just leave the door open because someone is always here, waiting to listen or to be the shoulder you need. Okay??

Janis ~ I lived in San Francisco when I was 15-16 years old 1967-68 & loved it. My Dad was stationed on Treasure Island & we lived on the Presido. We moved back to MI when he retired from the Navy & I've missed it ever since. I went to George Washington High School for my sophomore year. My regret: I don't have a yearbook. I have tried to obtain one, but no luck. Maybe I'll try again.....

    On my Bucket List:

    A trip back.

Barbe.....I am going to talk to my Nurse Navigator today about all this.  My BS saw me last week for my 6 month checkup and flat out said I had LE and I needed treatment right away.  Then later the same day RO is treating the skin issue first, then sending me to therapy.  There are few LE specialists in the area but I think my RO had one in mind.  Actually Esther, his Nurse Practicioner.  I should start therapy after I go back on the 17th.

ValJean...Road trip!  My mom was born and raised in SF and lived there until my dad got bored and moved us.  I think she was 29.  My Grandma had a house on on of the hills that overlooked the ocean.  I loved going to visit her!  I wish I knew where my mom went to HS.  She and her family are long gone but I would love to find out.  Anyway don't go without me, okay?  All my adult life I never forgot the wonderful sourdough bread I was raised on!  Later after marriage we lived in Denver, Wyoming and Texas and never once did I find a sourdough as fresh and sour and crusty as what I remember.  Oh what good stuff.  Oddly enough I do not like fish or seafood, and neither does my sister.  But my mom loved it all!

Happy Groundhog's Day.  Here's how they lure them out.  BTW, he saw his shadow...no early Spring.

Eli - we have Wiarton Willie the albino groundhog near by. He predicted the opposite as he did not see his shadow. Was watching on tv this morning and was amazed at how many spectators these rodents really attract. What a great way to break out of a winter funk!

P.S. - I can usuallly be lured out with the promise of food also - not much of a prognosticator though - lol

If six more weeks of winter means more of the 60-degree weather we have been having here, bring it on! Though DH commented that because it has never gotten truly cold here for an extended period, we will have a BAZILLION bugs this summer. Ew.

First mammogram for me post diagnosis next Wednesday! Surprised

Cheese the day -yes San Antonio

Went to the Majestic Theater in San Antonio last night with my mom, a girlfriend and her mom.  We had a great dinner and Cats was fabulous.  We had a great time with our moms, but I am not used to staying out so late and then having to get up for work in the morning.  How did I ever make it through college???

Thank you, Barbe, for breaking the news gently to BarbA.  It just seemed like it had gone on for a good length of time.  Hope weekends won't be too boring around here, but if they are don't forget we can always help the neverending stream of frightened Newbies on the other threads.  (And, no, I am not snickering up my sleeve at anyone for being frightened...it IS truly scary when you get the Dx and try to figure out what it all means.

Checking in & adding apologies for killing the mystery picture.  I tried honestly!

Different note-scary day!  Gorgeous beautiful day, so DD, our dog (who helped me break my shoulder back in '10) and a friend, went hiking.  On their way home, DD got to going a bit too fast on the gravel roadway, felt it getting away from her, BRAKED & since it was a small pick-up, with no weight in the back, lost control, FLIPPED, landed upside down in a ditch (not going over the cliff on the other side of the road).  Everyone is OK, even the dog (although she's stovin' up as night wears on) Cop said being seat-belted saved their lives.  I had been at a very nice soup/salad bar lunch with a good friend & was on my way to sit with my dad (Alzheimers) so my step-mom could have a break, when DD called.  When I got there & saw the truck, I almost lost lunch!  Honestly, there should have been hospital time!  I told her God was definitely riding in the cab with them!
