Lets Post our Daily Exercise

Wonderland- where will the wedding be? There are so many venues in Asheville! I have always wanted to go to the Vagina Monologues! My MIL has told me how hilarious the show is!
Ruth- take some of that sunshine home with you!
I noticed the deleted post to..hope all is well.
Yesterday we had family over for St. Patrick's Day. I prepared a delicious corn beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread and a yummy brownie truffle! I went for a little walk after dinner. It's still so windy here that it bone chillin' cold! I will be doing a DVD in just a few minutes. I got my new phone yesterday and my calendar did not update. I am having to transfer everything over. That trumps exercise for the next little bit!
Have a great day ladies!

Wonderland and Vargadoll- everything's hectic but good. Every few months I try to delete most of my posts. Since chemo has turned me into an insomniac I usually do it in the wee hours of the morning. Last year one of the ladies on these threads passed away. Her husband had the moderators delete all of her posts. There were many members who were outraged and a debate ensued. There are certain times I do share very private information that I don't choose to share with family members. I will continue to delete posts every few months. I don't usually delete posts from the exercise thread. It gives me something to do at 3 in the morning. Have a wonderful day. I plan on running a few miles tonight. If the weather's nice I want to run the Rickenbacker Causeway.

Jo, tell us when you get in a deleting mood so we don't worry! (Most of the time people delete because they're mad about something.)
We're renting in a 55 plus development. I knew they had put up a new exercise center since last year. On my walk this morning, I decided to take a peak. A HIIT class was just about to start and the instructor invited me in, so in I went! It was pretty good, and I will check out some other classes that fit into my schedule too.
I'm now sitting in the shade on the back patio. It's a sunny 84 degree day. Ahhhh.....

ruth- I'm so glad you're enjoying beautiful sunny 84 degree weather. You deserve it after a miserable North Dakota winter. In the future , when I delete numerous posts, I will give you guys a heads up. I am happy and healthy. Now it's time to get ready for a run.

Ruth, do you spend any time at home????
I have to say I am getting so bored of walking on the treadmill. Did 35 min tonight. I see my PCP tomorrow for my first appt since all of my cancer diagnosis 2 years ago. I do not know of any problems, but i feel like my MO thinks since I had 2 differnet cancers that I am going to have more. He is very dramatic. Luckily my PCP is very methodical and not reactionary.
Have a great week everyone!

2FUN, after this trip I am home until July. This is actually a little too much time away from home for me!
I'm going to check out a strength class this morning and walk, walk, walk outside. Tonight we are going to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant here and go to an ABBA (tribute band) concert.

today is heavy rain and cloudy. My flowers are loving this weather. If the rain diminishes this evening I'm going for a run. I love running in a light rain. Everything smells fresh and new.

Jo: Good to know about why you delete posts. I just wanted to make sure all was well. Hope you were able to run in the rain this evening.
Ruth: What a difference in temperatures for you! Enjoy every minute.
Vargadoll: The wedding is at the Homewood. It's going to be fun!
2FUN: How did your appointment go today?
Walked/ran yesterday and today. It's so nice outside - sunny, highs in the 50s. Had our taxes prepared today. Really needed the walk and good weather right after out meeting

wonderland- there wasn't any running tonight. Heavy rains all day and tonight made visibility very poor and the ground slippery. So I worked out on my balance ball and used my medicine ball for strengthening. Your weather sounds beautiful. Taxes are never fun but necessary.

Ruth, enjoy. I've the new (came in last Friday) #84 bodybalance/flow release that I've be learning. It's 13 tracks of choreography (usual is 9 -10), so drip feeding this one 2 tracks at a time and will start first two tonight. Here is an interesting article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-47331544 Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Couldn't sleep so got up at 4:45. I don't have to leave till 7:30 this morning as the school I'm covering doesn't start till 8. So I think I'll get a walk in at 7:00. I see the second medical oncologist for consult today and my stomach is in knots. I know that it is probably nothing and he'll say it's just something that he will need to follow me for yearly, but I'm scared non the less. Thankfully, my DH always goes to appointments like these with me, so I'll have him by my side.
Yesterday was DD#2 21st birthday...the time has gone by so quickly. Come May I'll have 2 children in the 30s). Sometimes I have to do a double take to realize how "old" my children are!!
Spring break is almost here!!!
Have a great Wednesday

Let us know how the appointment goes, Karen. DS turns 30 in May, which is super-weird to me. How time flies!
I am going back to the HIIT class this morning and walking outside, reading outside, eating outside.....most of my vacations are go/go/go so this one is unusually laid back for me....which is fine because I am tired out!

karen- keep us posted on how your visit goes. I know your anxiety level was high so take a lot of deep breaths.

Hey all-
Glad to see folks digging out and warming up from a long winter. There's still a lot of snow in the Tetons, but days are longer and I found one lonely crocus against the south side of my house yesterday. I had a great winter, coming off Herceptin and Perjeta strong, but finding the new normal for sure. I need to acquiese to resting more than ever, really maintain the hydration and stretching. Here's a couple of photos from a ski tour that we did last weekend. Super fun. So grateful that I am able to do these things again.

Wonderland- Homewood is breathtaking! I'm sure you have looked at all the photos available on line already. How long will you be in Asheville? My grandson was in your town a few weeks ago. The All State Honor band auditions were there. I thought I might have to drive him but the county came through with a bus.
Karen- it's late so fingers crossed you are home relaxing and enjoying some ice cream! (My go to after a stressful appointment)
Ruth- Keep enjoying that nice weather! I love the way you find exercise everywhere you go!
Jo- are you being invaded by spring breakers?? Miami is all over the news with spring break accidents.
LilacBlue- wish I could attend one of your classes!
Today was just to busy! Deliver Meals on Wheels, ran to Merle Norman for some much needed makeup, craft store for party supplies, took my girl to visit with her family and then went to pick Charlee up. From there the cell phone store to have my new phone (just for Sunday) reactivated, Sam's, carwash and then pick Chance up from preschool. Took the kids home to wait for DD, then ran a dessert to the church for tonight, stopped at grocery store #1 and went to the middle school to pick up #1 grandson Jordin. Took him home unloaded groceries and went to grocery store #2, home unloaded, cooked dinner and and just sitting here reading. Got to clean up the kitchen and get some laundry done. Plus get my documentation done. I have almost 18,000 steps and I doubt I'll get to do my DVD tonight. I'll get another 4-5 thousand steps before I go to bed so that will have to do for today!

Great pictures, Salsa! Here's a more summery one:

karen, hope your appt went alright. Mine was fine, so far. Got my BP taken, and it's finally down where it used to be. Ekg was fine, then the ENTIRE hospital system computers went down! Dr tried to finish without a computer and it was near impossible. I wish I could complain that I really didn't get a full physical, but ....
He said he would call me to finish up and figure out blood work. So, we'll see.
No exercise for me. Gotta get there tomorrow

Karen: Hope your appointment went fine.
Homemade: Love your pictures! Such beauty. Congratulations for getting off of Herceptin and Perjeta.
Vargadoll: I'm exhausted after reading what all you did today! And you'll still get in 4-5 thousand more steps! We will be near Asheville for 3 days in a rented house in Fairview. The wedding is in May.
2FUN: That's crazy that the computer system went down in the middle of your appointment! Hope the second half provides good results like the first half.
Lilac: Great article!
Ruth: Keep soaking in the sun.
Jo: I think your rain is coming my way tomorrow.
Well, it's starting again. We had to mow today. Mainly mowed weeds, onions, and a little grass but it had to be done. Dh raked up sticks and limbs. I did some raking for 30 minutes then pushed mowed for 2 hours. Wish every time I mow the temperature will be in the 50s like today! One can dream....

Thanks everyone - I was so, so stressed this morning and before the appointment. MO gave me a booklet on MGUS and Myeloma. He explains all sorts of stuff - T-cells, B-cells etc. My results are not normal - but the question is "is it serious"? 1/3 of all people with MGUS go on to develop Myeloma but my numbers are nowhere near there now...He offered me to do a skeletal survey xray, but I said I would pass for now as it really wouldn't do anything. He scared the heck out of DH and me when he mentioned bone marrow biopsy - but its not indicated - so why did he mention it? My notes don't really tell me much - but the gist of what I got out of the appointment is no real concern at this point. He will do labs again in 6 months prior to my appointment with him. So, in the end, I feel calmer and a lot less worried - I see gyn in May for annual check up and regarding the fluid in the endometrium lining - but my guess with that will be like everything else - watch and see. I keep adding "ologists" to see - for someone who is "healty" why am I seeing 2 oncologists, nephrologist along with gyn and pcp? And lab draws!! My goal is to grow old with a good quality of life!! Well, that is everyone's goal
Ruth - when is your DS's b'day in May - DD#1 and DS and I are all in May - 3,8,12 -plus mother's day is between the 8th and the 14th!!
Watching the weather and going to bed.....

karen- I'm so glad you're less worried and. less stressed now.
Vargadoll- I'm exhausted just reading about your day. Wow. As far as the Spring Breakers go, what a nightmare. Fights and shootings. We have the same issues on South Beach during Memorial Day weekend. It's a 15 minute drive from my house but it seems like another world . The troublemakers aren't the college kids. It's grown men looking to cause trouble. The majority of the kids are having fun but it only takes a few idiots to cause total chaos. At this time of the year the traffic is usually heavy so it's a little worse than usual.
Salsa-Beautiful pics. I'm glad you came off the herceptin and perjeta strong.
Wonderland- I do believe the rains are headed in your direction. After experiencing three days of heavy rain I'm ready for some sunshine again. My contractor showed up at 7 this morning to start removing and replacing my wooden fence in the backyard. They worked almost 12 hours today. My contractor said he had no problem working in the rain as long as there were no thunder and lightning. My roofer repaired two leaks last Friday. So during these heavy rains I was able to test my roof repairs. I am pleased to say no leaks. I am fortunate to have two contractors who showed up on time and perform their duties in a professional manner. I waited almost 9 weeks for my roofer of 6 years to come over and assess my roof. He kept making excuses. Now, I have a new roofer and he did a good job. Hallelujah

Glad your appointment was okay, Karen. DS is the 28th. My dad's birthday was in May too (I'm jealous of you all having the emerald as your birthstone!)
2Fun, at least the power didn't go down during a mammogram, which happened to me! (They have backup generators.)
At dinner tonight, I ran into some people from the town I lived in until 8th grade, which means I hadn't seen them for over 50 years!!! It was SO fun reminiscing about 'the good old days'!!

Karen, glad things have calmed down on the medical front.
Homemade, great pics!
Last weekend was a lot of snow shoveling and walking the dog in the deep snow. He was bounding like a bunny in the snow and I fell a couple of times as I couldn't be bothered to wear snow shoes. It was good exercise for both of us.
Ran 4K on the treadmill yesterday and did weights. Tonight is salsa night. This weekend will be almost summery temps. Which means I can launch the mountain biking season early.

Did some toning in the living room and took a walk. My favorite cousin and spouse are coming up from Tuscon to spend the day. We're going to a Cubs preseason game at 1:00 (when not in Arizona, they live in Chicago). A 'cold front' came through so the high today will 'only' be 72. 😆

Ruth, do post some pics of the Cubs if you can. You may know that the DH is a lifelong fan.
Karen, so sorry you have had stressful medical news. Glad to hear that you’re in the clear.
I’ve been doing lots of yoga but not enough running. So desperate to get outdoors!

Okay, here's some Cubs pictures. They battled the Giants to a 5-5 tie. My cousin, me and DH in front of the Cubs sign. On the other side of the sign you can pay money and they'll put your name on the sign before you take your picture.

I called my pcp's office today and asked for the Physician Assistant (PA) to call me and told what was going on - PA was not in today so she was to call me tomorrow.....well pcp's office called me a bit later saying the PA wants to see me tomorrow - so I got a smart idea - to get a copy of the ultrasound report and cd of the ultrasound (kidney ultrasound - that showed fluid in the endometrium lining - I couldn't get into gyn till May - pcp has been doing pap for several years - so I haven't seen gyn in over 5 or 6 years so considered new patient - This could all be nothing, but glad to at least have a starting point - Not sure what PA can do but its worth the visit
I'm officially on spring break
Sweet dreams....

Karen: Hope you can get some answers today. Thinking of you
Heidi: I wish you had a video of you and your precious dog taking a walk in the snow. I can see it now!
Ruth: Now I want a ballpark hotdog!
Falconer: Hope your weather turns warmer so you can get outside.
Jo: Your roof had a good test run and thank goodness it's not leaking!
Hi Everyone! If any of you are traveling to NC today please stop by my house and help dh and me spread 70 bales of pine straw that were delivered this morning. This will be my exercise for today!
