Body Step class for me this morning then hit the grocery store and zig zagged back and forth to add extra steps.  We had a very young (probably freshman) boy in our class this morning it was like watching Bambi on iceLaughing you forget how awkward these classes are at the beginning.  It seems like you are getting some nice weather in the east, I'm going to do yard work this afternoon, we had rain last night and right now the sun is out and the wind is blowing.  Great job on the ride Bobcat, sending you good wishes for tomorrow.

Hello Ladies - Was really going to try to take a short walk today (it's beautiful outside), but just didn't make it. I'm not in pain (thank goodness) but I do get tired easily. The girls are adjusting, trying to get comfy in their new home. At the moment, my PS said I can walk, but nothing else. Being tired, that's all I could manage. Actually, couldn't even manage that today. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Smile Have a good evening. Hugs, Chris

Chris - Sending you healing and restful thoughts.  Glad the pain level is good.  Let your body heal and walk when you are ready.  Have a good evening, all.  My exercise tonight is watching the red carpet.

''Yard Work', sound heavenly; my yard is still buried in snow!! Kathy, I was able to keep exercising through radiation without any problem. You might get tired and slow down, but it shouldn't knock you all the way out. Chris, go out and sit in the sun; that would be a healthy, healing thing to do, I think!!! Good luck tomorrow, and Tuesday too, Bobbi, keep us up to date. I did 45 treadmill minutes and 15 abs, now I am cleaning the house; one bathroom to go Frown. DH is starting the taxes, so I better be nice and make a 'real' supper too. Take Care All! Ruth

Wow - I feel like such a slacker!  Saturday I did no formal exercise, but did a lot of errands and shopping, so I'll take that 1/2 hour walking credit for shopping!  Wink

Sunday was beautiful here in DC - high 50's, so dh and I played tourist and spent the day in DC.  We walked around the Washington Monument and over to the National Mall, then spent 4 hours at the newly-renovated National Museum of American History - the one with Archie Bunker's chair, Dorothy's ruby slippers, and the newest attraction, Julia Child's kitchen.  They've also just finished a restoration of the Star Spangled Banner - the one that was flying over Baltimore when Key wrote our national anthem - and it's beautiful.  All in all it was about 5 hours of good walking, which we promptly undid by going to Outback!

Bobcat - I think you're entitled to lose a couple of pounds doing a liquid diet - good luck on Tuesday!

Ruth - my dh does our taxes too - you gotta love them for taking that job on!

OK, gotta get back into my exercise routine this week!

Nats; pure JEALOUSY here for your day in DC!!!!! The last time I was there (a couple years ago, just out of treatment, still wearing a wig), I was my dad's escort on an 'Honor Flight', a group which flies World War II Veterans out to see their memorial. Very awesome and impressive; but quick, and no strolling around for 5 hours seeing the sites with 200 old people in their 80s-90s!!! Good week all and back to 'formal' exercise!!! Power Up! Ruth

Ruth - Yes, we are losing that WWII generation.  I'm so glad for your dad and the others in his group that he got to see the WWII memorial.  I've never heard of "Honor Flight" (probably because all the local WWII vets don't need it) but it sounds like a wonderful organization. Personally, I don't particularly like the design of the WWII - to me it looks like something the Germans would have erected had they won.  I also don't think it provides a lot of historical context where it will be meaningful 50 years from now to future generations.  But I'm truly glad there is something to honor that generation. I've been to that memorial enough to see how much it means to them when they see the memorial, and since it was built to honor them, then to me that means it's a successful design.

You need to come out to DC again when you can take the time to do all the standard tourist stuff.  I've lived here my whole life, and I still love going to DC and being a tourist.  And being a tourist is great exercise!  Laughing

Yes, I thought The WWII was a little 'cold' too; but it was awesome to hang out with all the veterans and hear their amazing stories. I was in DC one other time as a tourist, and really need to get back again; neat, neat place!

    Hi Ladies,

I did another 40 min. on the elliptical and 20 on the treadmill today.  Now if I can just lay off the chocolate!   Oh well - one thing at a time.

Ruth - Good to hear you were able to exercise while doing radiation.  Hope I can as well.

We should all be eating 1 to 2 ounces of dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa) a day for the HEALTH BENEFITS; it lowers cholesterol, blood pressure etc. I've done some research in this area, and it is TRUE Smile Smile Smile!!!!

Ruth, my husband agrees with you about chocolate...and yes it's true. I should be starting radiation in about 2 weeks so I hope I can continue with maybe just cutting back a little.(exercise not chocolate)

Yesterday, yard work and today 3 mile jog. Both days almost in the 60's. Back to reality tomorrow in the high 40's.

I'm baaaaaack!  I had to catch up on 6 pages, so just skimmed over them (you guys have been busy!)  Cruise was great (water a little choppy, but no sea sickness!)  Was able to walk the track on most days, but they did close the outside decks on our last full day on the ship because of wind and waves.  I did gain 5 pounds, but now will get back to the daily excercise and reasonable eating program!  I have my appointment with my oncologist on Friday.  A little nervous, but I guess that is normal!  Congrats to all for keeping the good work up!

I eat two dark chocolate hershey's kisses everyday after lunch!!  Except for today - I am on fluids.  I am ready to chew my arm off but just got the call from hospital to be there at 8AM tomorrow.  I will be home and eating by early afternoon - yipee!!  But still counting this as a cleanse and quick weight loss Wink

Good luck tomorrow, Bobbi (what happened with the MRI?). Hi Mary, only 5 pounds is great (I can gain 5 pounds without even doing anything fun Frown). I am always a nervous wreck for about 2 weeks before the oncologist recheck (now I know I should be distracting myself by going on cruises!!!). Did 30 minutes on the treadmill, and a 40 minute FIRM aerobic/sculpt DVD. The DVD was done only because of the 'voices'. So thank you all very much!!!! Ruth

Did nothing yesterday and was going to beg off today as well but going down now for 30 mins on the treadmill.

Good luck tomorrow bobcat.  Only 5 lbs for a cruise - good job.  I gained 2 just over the weekend because I ate out so much.  But I'm back on track now so we'll both take them off.  I have a Missions banquet on Saturday and I have this outfit I need to get into so I really need to drop not only the 2 but as many more as I possibly can.  (maybe I'll lose the 5 for you!).

Back in a few to say goodnight.

Hello everyone just back from a one hour Body Combat class.  Welcome home Mary Louise you'll drop those pounds once you get back in the swing of things, I know about those nerves before appointments, I went today to have a basal cell carcinoma removed and when the nurse took my blood pressure before the surgery it was 164/90, I don't know why it always goes up while you're just sitting there but it does.  Bobcat hopefully the liquid day will bring the bonus of weight loss, we live in hope don't we, sending you off with a big HUG for tomorrow.  Hey Patoo pray for snow so you can shovel and sculpt Surprised.  Hello Ruth is it still cold in your neck of the woods?  Good work everyone.

Okay, only got to 20 mins but it was a fast pace and raised the slope up to a 5 for a good part of it.  My heart is racing so need to calm so I can get to sleep before long.

As usual, feels good.  Thanks everyone.

Hey hb, don't laugh because it's either snow or another trip to DisneyWorld.  DW is not likely so I'll do snow as long as it comes on a weekend so I don't have to drive in t.  Okay, maybe not.  I'll just keep on working out and not stuffing my face.

    Night my Sculpted sisters.

Good job, Patoo! Cheryl, we are having fog, and a cold slushy snow/rain mix. Sounds fun, huh? My blood pressure (which is perfectly fine otherwise) always goes up so much that they always take it at the beginning, and again at the end of my appointments; and after they tell me I'm fine, it is even higher than when I go in!!!!  I will probably die of a 'doctor appointment induced stroke'! I  feel my blood pressure going up just typing about it Surprised!

Ruth I've been to Disneyland so many times that when visitors come I just drop them at the gate, have them call me when they're done and I'll go get them, my goddaughter on the other hand has a season ticket and goes with her friends every two weeks or so, she just can't get enough.

I still don't want to weed the garden Wink! And yes, we are worried about flooding here; they do 'flood updates' as part of the nightly weather report.

Okay Ruth you're officially off weeding duties and I'll still let you smell the rosesWink  I've just been searching websites looking at roses trying to decide on colors but it will probably all come down to what the nursery has in stock.

Good luck Bobbi for tomorrow and also good luck Mary for Friday.  I hope all goes well.

I have only managed two 15 min workouts so far today, both on the stationary bike.  I just can't get into it today.  Its nearly 2.30pm so still time if I get energetic (judge judy is on in half an hour so may ride and watch her).

    Take care
