Like Lisa Jayne, I'll have to catch up with all your pics, posts & news later, but I do have to say...Poor Mikey!

I could just copy & paste my post from yesterday: walked/jogged 2 miles,1 with dogs & 1 without, in beautiful weather.

Mary, poor little Mikey. He looks so sweet.

Dulcigirl, joining you in the countdown.

Went to the gym today for 30 minutes on the Elliptical plus some weights.

    Poor Mikey!

Yea, Warrior! I know I felt better keeping things as 'normal' as possible (& was just plain lucky to mostly be able to do so). But even if you do end up in remedial gym for awhile, it would be better than no gym at all!

Well, I had a day where I really, truly did not have any time to exercise Shocked......I never even was in my house until just a few minutes ago (10 pm). Sadness, that means I will have to double up one of the weekend days!

Awwww poor Mikey, give him a cookie from me.  Badger I got a notification from Fitbit that in 2013 I walked 139 miles, not bad seeing as though I only got on November 24th, speaking of it the last two days I wore it all day at work then forgot to put it on when I changed into my gym clothes, then today I forgot to wear it all day but did wear it to the gym Loopy Did another Spin class tonight.

woohoo!! I needed that this morning, Blessings!! How are you doing?

Tough day ahead and lots of issues at home that all need $$$ to solve. Booooo!!!

In anticipation of not having time for dedicated exercise today I did basement stairs last night 25 times. I don't think I've ever cycled and staired (new word) on the same day before. I'm not sore this morning so I'm feeling like I MUST be gaining strength even though my rotten scale is not budging. Clothes are fitting a bit better, measuring tape numbers are going down and there is less jiggle from the muffin top. That is awesome motivation to keep on going! (In addition to The Voices, of course!)

    Happy Friday, girls!

Great news Dulci! (clothes fitting better etc).

    Poor Mikey!

Blessings - Love the picture - that could soooo be me sometimes!  (not the cute figure and I'm sure cuter uniform but the upside down backwards sign....lol)

I did my 60 minute group FAST class this morning.

Sunny here on the east coast and I'm heading out onto the trail with my dog for fresh air.  Yesterday and today are the days my nurse said I'd feel like crap.  I'm trying to pretend I didn't hear her.

I took the attitude this would happen either way, so I chose to be exercised.  I always felt better, and suspect a trifle smug, afterwards.  Have a great run! - Claire

30 minute dreadmill run after work yesterday, 30 minute core/balance ball DVD this morning.  DH has evaluation with pain management specialist this afternoon - I'll go with - the docs are worried that he has something called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome after his wrist surgery.  From what I've read, it means that after trauma, the nerves do a sort of autoimmune thing and overreact to pain, and amplify the sensation, so that if the pain is really at a level 1 or 2, the nerves send it up to the brain as a 5 or 6.  We'll learn more this afternoon, I guess.  Never rains but it pours, huh?

At least I'm hanging in there.  As a friend emailed me after hearing my tale of woe:  "How
ironic yet delicious that the cancer survivor in your house is the only healthy one!"

5.5 miles with my dog at my slowest time ever but I did it.  I won't get any medals but I will cross that line.

Warrior Woman well done and you said: Wonder if the women are concerned about being identified with their cancer. The free, once a week pilates class is not taught in a gym, it's in a private space, just us  women and the instructor with mats and blocks.  If anything, the majority of the woman who participate over identify with their (we have one stage 3 the rest of us are stage 1 or 2) having had breast cancer and don't seem to move on all that well.  This country is rather overweight and also sedentary, so it's relatively new to many who attend that they can try to make a difference - to help keep bc recurrence at bay.   We are coming up to our one year anny of the class and two of the women who are regulars have added one extra pilates class a week.  I'm a gym rat and part time runner from way back - well before breast cancer came a' calling.

Freestyle step and body balance today

Walked two miles and yes, there were dogs involved. Planning to go to the gym to do weights after work this evening.

LilacBlue - For those who attend it must be a godsend.  Gyms are intimidating for people who are not accustomed to exercising in a public space.  I have friends who are too afraid to go to a gym and I really think they are overestimating the extent to which anyone will notice them.  What happened to your running when you got BC?  I will admit I was more tired when I got home from running today.

AnnieLane - Everything goes better when there are dogs involved!

So last night I did my 90 minutes at the gym - I had to get my column done first so I went late in the day.  The workout was very stressful for me - someone had on the TV about the guy who paid $350K to kill the endangered black rhino.  Made me very emotional and sick to my stomach the whole time I worked out.  I barely got through it.  Some days I just like animals a lot more than people!  So here we are today.  I only have to do 1 hour today and 1 hour tomorrow to have my 8 hours and 60 miles in for the week!  I think last night I probably should have left the gym and not stayed - some times if your mood and attitude are not right you might not be helping achieve what the whole point of the workout is.  Well the story was only on for about 30 minutes but by then my stomach was hurting.  Today I'm much better and will be able to get the hour in without an issue - I think!  LOL

    Way to go Warrior Woman.

Inspiredbydolce, most days, I like/prefer animals to people. Hurts my heart to hear how awful some people are to them.

Dulcigirl, congrats on the changes and don't worry as the scale will eventually follow.

Completed my 30 minute walk/run after work today plus weights. Happy Friday ladies...

dulci....if you are noticing the difference in the right direction in how your clothes fit, and measurements......forget the scales, in my opinion. It's more about the fitness and health, then the weight, and yes....muscles do weigh more than fat!

Did a 5k walk with hubby on the pathways alongside the Missouri River in Great Falls today....after sorting out the screw ups with the govt!!!!

Inspired, I know what you mean. I can't imagine wanting to travel across the world and pay big bucks to kill a beautiful, rare and amazing animal, precisely because it is beautiful, rare and amazing. Can you imagine how much good you could you could do to help animals and / or people with that kind of money?

I almost always like animals more than people, and children more than adults (present company excepted, of course).

Did half hour of the treadmill & an hour of spot toning with Denise.

I have been subbing the last week and a half for the young teacher who took my place. She has been having some 'female problems' and ended up having a minor surgical procedure. I was glad to go in because I know the curriculum, kids etc. and that way she didn't have to do a lot of prep for a sub & could just concentrate on her health.....anyway, today the most horrible thing happened, one of the aides (who is a neighbor friend of mine) was in PE; when a student playing a game accidently ran smack into her. She flew in the air, landed hard, and dislodgde her FEMUR! She will need surgery (is possibly having it as I type), rehab, and will be out for about 8 weeks. OMG!!!!!

OMG Ruth, that kid must have been running full-out to send that aide flying (ass over teakettle, as my mother would say).

Walked at the track after work today.  Knew once I got home I wouldn't want to go back out.  Haven't zeroed out the pedometer for a few days so logged 22.5 km = 14 mi since last update.

Warrior_Woman, glad to know you're OK.  Being fit going into chemo and staying active are so helpful.

    TGIF! ♥ to all

    Hi to everyone!

I'm glad to be understood about the 'liking animals more than people sometimes' comment. lol

Warrior and Katie - I hope your 1st infusion went well.  You all are amazing if you are doing exercise during chemo.  I did not exercise at all during chemo, and I ate what I wanted (a bit restrained, but not by much).  I gained 10 pounds during chemo.  But after chemo, by switching to a healthy diet and adding exercise I lost what I had gained during chemo plus 8 more.

Warrior - I read an earlier post about the marrying your MO thought.  That is great that you like your team.  I went back and forth with my MO at first, but we sorted out things, and now we adore him so much that each year we take a holiday photo with him.  He even puts on the Santa hat for us.  My PS does medical missions - so giving of his time.  He's easy on the eyes too!  He's fancy - wears these fancy suits and Italian loafers.  My husband always tells him how 'dapper' he looks.  I've never heard my husband say that word before, but it really is the word that fits my PS the best.

For my exercise, I just got done with 80 minutes tonight and 9.15 miles again.  This means tomorrow I only have to do 45 minutes to reach my weekly goal.  So happy that I have a little leeway there tomorrow.

The gym was much more enjoyable tonight - no stressful shows on, and lots of people I had not seen in a while.  Sometimes a Friday night will be very slow and lonely at the gym but not tonight - lots of activity.

Hope all of you are doing well and having a good day.

    Keep being fabulous!!

I totally get liking animals better than people, I have four sleeping dogs at my feet - the puppy is a rascal, I've learned to put my shoes away when I take them off as she thinks they are chew toys and  I have to say she has no manners, yesterday morning she dragged me out the front door and only that I'm strong I'd have landed flat on my face so I'm doing some leash training for all the good it will do, they did warn me she'd failed three puppy schools!! Ruth that poor woman, I'll bet the kid feels dreadful.

Had the day off work so went to the gym early and did a Body Pump class.

Warrior Woman said: Gyms are intimidating for people who are not accustomed to exercising in a public space.  Precisely why we stated Pink Ribbon Pilates.  I too was highly body self conscious when I returned to the gym and fully understand that block.  I could not run for sometime because of my left diep.  Was very inspired by Mary/NatsFan who's training I was keen to read and follow  from the start to watching her online, actually run a half marathon.  That is when I got back and trained for a 5k for bc run June 2013 - raised £480. for cancer research. I try in the winter to run twice a week and 3-4 days when weather is better.

Badger, thanks for the heads up and I did get a email off with a bit of personal info like you suggested.  Ruth, teachers really do take a beating.

ONE of the reasons I never subbed in PE!! Yikes, Ruth!

Biked 10 miles this morning. Now off to visit DS!

Now we are having a "Cold Blast."

Pain doc thinks Dh has CRPS but he's scheduled him for a bone scan and nerve block procedure next week which will help further dx. So back into the Medical Machine for us. Scared  Fled to the cabin for the long weekend so doing this on my phone - pls excuse errors!  Had an inch of snow overnight so it's beautiful out today.  Mikey is doing better, enthusiastically barking at a pileated  woodpecker that went by this morning. He hates pileated woodpeckers - no idea why.

Lilac - thanks for the shout out on the half I ran last year. I still have no idea what possessed me to do that!
