Karen:  That sounds like a great idea!

Ladies, I just started taking an over the counter hormone supplement called pregnenolone. I am triple neg and I am now doing bioidentical estrogen & progesterone.  I wanted to share this with you because it is supposed to be protective of cancer and it also is supposed to be good for depression.  In short, from my on line research, pregnenolone converts cholesterol into either DHEA or Progesterone, whichever it needs and it supports the Adrenals.  You have to start at a very low dose and work up to a 50 mg dose.  If you take too much too soon you can become really agitated and aggressive.  I have been taking it for 3 days now and my hot flashes dissappeared.  I also feel more alert and cheerful.  I also notice my body temp has increased to almost normal.  Cancer patients notoriously have low body temp.  I attached this link which isn't very informative but I recommend doing your own additional research to see if pregnenolone will benefit you.

I applied for that job.  Just waiting now to see if I get called.  They're doing an "informational session" sometime the beginning of April.  If you get asked back there are 2 or 3 days of interviewing that same week.  I did find out that some of it is here in Phoenix so hopefully won't after to go to Rockford, IL for the interviewing anyway.  I would have to go there for 6 weeks of training if I get hired.  Already worrying about the logistics of that since my DH is gone 3 days a week but I guess that's putting the cart before the horse.

MBJ- I'm going to send you a PM re: fat grafting.  Too lengthy to go into here.  Glad you're doing o.k.  Thanks, too, for the info on the pregnenolone.  I'm going to go check that out.

barbe- Is today another interview?  If so- GOOOOOD LUUUUUUCK!!!!!

Good for you Kate, and it will all work out if it's meant to be. That's how I'm looking at my commute. If I get the job it's a 3.5-4 hour commute!!!

Third interview went great. He says it's now back in the hands of the manager that sent me to him. She's on holiday this week, and as she liked me, it looks like it should be a go. Thanks for all the good wishes!

Barbe:  That is such good news, in spite of the commute.  I sense big things in your future.  BTW:  What hole?  I don't see a hole!  The picture of my PS untying my bellybutton is priceless, lol!

Kate:  I will look for your PM.  I am hoping the pregnenolone is a turning point to better health for me.  I am glad you are going back out there.  I understand it is really competitive so you just have to keep chipping away until the right job comes along.  You will find your way, I am sure of it.  You have so much to offer!!!  Big hugs!

I gotta say, I am sore and I am tired!!!

DiDel- when you wrote about it being Monday - seemed correct to me!! Too funny. Sometimes time goes so slow and other times.....

\MJB- sorry you don't get to shower - they way mine were done I could the next day or maybe that first day he put on these huge waterproof bandages which covered each breast. Then was able to remove bandages by day 4 and just had to wear a regular band aid with the center cut out and another one on top. But they have so many ways of making these. Will be interested to know how yours turn out. Hope you are really happy with it ( one right?)

    Night all!

See now, my body temperature runs way too HIGH!! I break out in a sweat just bending down to put my purse on the floor by my desk!

Barbe:  That can be caused by medications or any number of autoimmune diseases.  It can also be hormonal.  Funny thing is, when I feel really hot, drenched even, my temperature can read quite low.  I find this only happens at 98.3 and above 98.8.  It also happens sometimes late at night when I drop really low at 95.6.  My body is trying to heat me up and keep me alive I think.

MBJ that's scary. Are you cold when your temp dips down low? I worried when mine was around 97.5 for a while during treatment but they said it was ok.

I worked 12 hours today and my poor puppy wants to play and i just wanna crawl in bed.

    Have a good Sunday everyone!

Didel:  I am burning up when it drops that low and I break out in a "cold" sweat and end up freezing.  It's kind of crazy.

Holy cow!! I have high blood pressure that is "usually" under control, so I blame my sweating on that. But low temp....never thought of that! Undecided

MBJ- I swear I have the same thing.  When I read the info on your link I think I had every symptom but one on the list.  I never thought about low body temp but it makes sense.  I am always the one with a sweater or hoodie on when everyone else around me is in tank tops.  I have a low tolerance for heat (so why do I live in Arizona?) but an even lower tolerance for cold.

So I have a little gripe today.  I had yet another person ask me, when they heard I had BC, if I lost my hair.  I finally said, "No, but I lost my boobs."  I don't mean to be insensitive to those who have had chemo and did lose their hair, because I know that would be really hard, but why is that the first thing that comes to someone's mind?  Like that is the worst thing that could possibly happen.   I mean hair grows back but boobs.....

Kate:  Everyone asks me the same thing.  When I lost my hair at the time it felt worse, because it was the only time I looked sick.  But you are right-hair grows back-breasts don't.  Though in the future they are working on this!

On the link that I sent you, I answered yes to I think 16 of the questions.  Really got me thinking about what else I could do.  Did you read the other article on low body temp I sent you?  It's kind of creepy.  No wonder my nails were becoming a problem and my hair was falling out-I was the walking dead before my diagnosis.  I think hyperthermia is a very common problem and almost every disease also has the low body temp issue.

MBJ that's awful! I feel for you, I don't know how you deal with it.

Kate seriously I ask.. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE. How rude!! Whether you did or didn't lose your hair or anything else...it's none of their damn business, I swear!

One night I was going out with one of my GF's ..it was the first time in months I was going out (I consider myself a reformed party girl Wink or maybe a party girl in remission) Anyhow, my friends BOSS decides to come with us..right after April introduces me to her ..she says..and I wish I was making this up "ARE YOU APRILS FRIEND WHO JUST HAD A MASTECTOMY" I look at her and in my total anger and disgust I said...You are so fu&king rude and drunk, you are not riding in my car!" (I have been designated driver for the last year) and that was the last I spoke to her. She tried to talk to me later and I just shooed her away with a look of disgust, she was sloppy drunk but no excuse for rude behavior. About two weeks later my friend April apologized for her, and I said too late, first impressions and she is never to be in my company again.

I have ZERO tolerance for stupid comments and if you want to be blunt and rude be prepared to get it back...in spades.

DiDel:  I actually had a client introduce me to a potential client on the selling point of having BC.  Like, because she was a woman too, we would bond and we would get the job???!!! People can be such idiots.

Determined- Hey girl!  Where have you been?  Was the Rockford, IL comment directed towards me?  (If I get the job with Ryan International their headquarters is in Rockford so I'll be there for 6 weeks of training.)  It would be great to meet up!

Still no news of the job.  I was getting depressed but I've been on an online forum for people trying to get hired at Ryan and no one has mentioned being called for an interview so I'm cautiously optimistic (which is so unlike me Smile).

DiDel- Love the "party girl in remission".  I think that's me, too.  Don't know if I haven't gotten my party mojo back yet or I'm just older and wiser.  (Definitely older.)  I seem to be the DD lately since I'm the only one of the gang that doesn't see the fun in getting trashed.  (It's too hard to recover the next day!)  Maybe I'm officially a  "fuddy duddy" now!  (Say it's not so!!!)

MBJ- Was she thinking she'd hire you out of pity?  Hmm, maybe I should try that at my next job interview?  JK!

Kate:  I have no idea what he was thinking!  Kate, I just posted my nipple/areola pictures so if you would like to come to my PS I think he is brilliantly talented and quite the artist!  It is still pretty raw, but it looks so real and I am very, very happy!!!  Hang in there for that job interview. I do hope that with your many years of service, your DH being a pilot, and your wonderful personality that you will be at the top of their list for new hires!

barbe:  This is the one surgery I was so scared to have.  If they messed this one up, I would have been very unhappy.  I did lots of reasearch and begged my PS to do it the way I wanted instead of the standard, cheaper version which is just a nipple with a tattooed areola.  I am so relieved that it looks so good.  My PS's nurse told me it was the best reconstructed nipple/areola she had ever seen.  It looks real!!!

MBJ- Just checked out your pics and your PS is definitely an artist.  I'm just amazed at how well he matched your other breast but the new nip makes it even better.  You definitely did your homework and knew what you wanted.  You look so great!!!  I'm really happy for you, girl!

Kate:  He is just brilliant, isn't he?  You know, he doesn't even do this surgery anymore.  I had to talk him into it.  They just like to do the nipple and tattoo and that's it.  That's what I love about the picture forum.  You get to make an informed choice, no matter what it is you choose, it is your choice and you do have to ask for it or they just give you whatever is the status quo.  I cannot believe the State of California just paid for all of this!!!

MBJ- I figured out that the reason breast reconstruction is covered is most of the politicians are men and men like boobs.  They'll deny organ transplants but bring on new boobs and nips!  LOL!  Just glad they do, though, and you deserve it!!!

Kate:  Sad but true, and yes I am grateful.  I had a friend who's husband had a biking accident that caused his shoulder to be relocated down around his rib area, and Blue Cross denied it and she had to take them to court before they would pay it.  I also have another friend who had an 18" Uterine Cancerous Fibroid and she had to fight with them for a year because they tried to say her cancer was a "preexisting condition".  Monsters, that's what most insurance companies are.  It's not even legal to do but they have so much fire power and money so they just fight all claims and figure sick people won't fight back.  It's really sick.  Okay, getting off of my soapbox, lol.
