Beer Swiggers Unleashed - ha ha! You are right 2Fried - it sounds like a very bad movie.
Oh! and Scottie... we did hear that

As far as I understand this latest research, women who have not been diagnosed with bc should stay away from alcohol, but for those who already have it, it does not matter . . . this is probably wrong, right? LOL.
0 -
Liefie thats an interesting thought;so you better stay away because if you drink then you will be diagnosed but once you're diagnosed you can go back to drinking as much as you did before your diagnosis. Ok so would you say then that we finally found a perk to a bc diagnosis? lol
0 -
so other than the perk of getting new perk'y' foobs... we now have the OK to drink... sounds good to me
0 -
Cheers to that!!

Happy Friday Ladies! And cheers! Thanks for the laughs no drinking for me tonight but will catch up tomorrow for sure:)
Exhausted so hitting the sack so have a good night:)0 -
Sounds like you are all drinking!
Liefie, no rads yet. PS says it is not all that common but maybe in my case he thinks he should have believed the new SPY machine they are using at UBC~~so far the only one in Canada. I did read in his post op dictation that SPY did not like the circulation at first but second go it seemed OK. SPY measures blood perfusion it seems. They only got it in January and are still second guessing its abilities. Anyway, I just hope that this time the suturing works out and circulation is good and then it will be on to rads. CT simulation is set for the 22nd, third try so we will see. I went to yoga for the first time today and though I could not do it all, it was so good to be back.

That study is the best news I've had in ages. And timely too. I'm not a big drinker, go weeks without one, but when I do...I love it.
Take yesterday for example, stuck at Toronto Pearson for 8 hours waiting for a flight to New York. What else is there to do but have a drink? Yup, I had a few. Free beer on the flight too. And what did we do today? Walk, walk, beer, walk. And so on. More of the same for the next three days. Cheers everyone, now I can really enjoy my drinks and not worry about it. Woohoo!!!0 -
What a week! So many posts! You all seem to get a lot of things done, even though sometimes with difficulty.
I'm impressed with your going back to yoga, MarianElizabeth; I'm looking to your doing that as inspiration to get off my tush and get to the gym, which has not seen me in at least 10 months. I have been walking 15 minutes most days and about an hour on Sundays, but need to get away from the desk and move to shift the baby fat -- now that the baby is turning 18, it's about time.
Chrisrenee, that little nephew is just a doll. Hope he continues to recover quickly. Kids really do heal fast.
I'm whipped tonight, but wanted to check in and send greetings & hope that you all have restful and pleasant weekends,

shianne29,
IMHO as a nurse, do not peel your skin. Let it come off naturally as you gently wash the area. If you peel it you are likely to cause an open area that could be prone to infection. As a picker I know how hard it will be to leave it alone but better than an infection and open areas. Just my opinion.
Hugs, Sheryl

Very timely news about drinking since I'm going to Fenway for a Red Sox game today, thanks!
Hope all is well with everyone! Enjoy your weekend!0 -
fingers crossed that cheesecake is next on the good for you list

unowhoandwhy and outdamnspot sounds like fun! enjoy
Like you all have said it's nice to not have feel guilty or concerned if you do decide to have that occasional drink (Although the way it was worded it sounds like we are supposed to drink as much as we drank before our diagnosis to live longer) lol.
Since so many of our beer swiggers (according to Scottie) and a few wine sloshers were unleashed last night it could mean a slow day on the boards. We might even have more than Tazzy and Shiane dancing on the tables after that news-right Scottie and Liefie?
Another cute dance partner
Have a great weekend

2fried...I was dancing...so where did you hide the camera to take that video??
0 -
Oh wow Aruba ! I wondered who the female was!
0 -
2Fried, we'll see if Tazzy and Shianne post today. If not, we'll know that they both have hangovers after the table dancing last night - lol. Cute pictures! Hahahaha!
Marian, you do have my admiration for doing yoga already! Wow! Please excuse my chemo brain for asking you about rads - of course you have not had it yet, and to add insult to injury, it's also not the first time I've asked you a dumb question. Have to start keeping notes on you so I don't make a fool of myself again. LOL! Best wishes for that wound healing quickly.
Just to throw another spanner into the works, I just read in the newspaper that Prof. Jean-Denis Rouillon, a sport scientist from the Univ. of Besancon in France, has found in a 15-year long study that a bra does absolutely nothing, zippo, zero to counteract gravitation, and that in fact, it makes it worse. According to him it's much better to go without. The prof being French, I have to wonder how unbiased these findings were . . . Also, he is not a woman with big, heavy breasts - LOL! Come on ladies, what's your opinion?

2FriedEggs....love the dancing......lol
Liefie....Tazzy and Shianne are under the table now....💃
On the bra issue.....since menopause I have been coming home from work and the bra
comes off until I have to go back to work.....so being doing this for about 15 yrs now
and I don't think the girls have been affected at all. Just my opinion, however.....lol0 -
I like the bra look, makes me look thinner in tops. My choice would be to keep wearing a bra. As far as gravity, I think there hanging lower these days, and I wear bras. Bras probably have nothing to do with what's eventually going to happen, gravity wins....My opinion
0 -
scottie I kind of expected you to be on the table too after drinking your wine and all.You are right though, Tazzy and Shiane are probably under the table.

Love the dancers!!!
Scottie I'm the same re:bra. If I can at all, I go without. I'm pretty small upstairs so not usually a big deal. If I'm going out I wear a nice padded push up ;-). I'm hoping by the end of this, when the girls match, I won't need one at all!! I agree that gravity wins and bras make no difference. I think we were just programmed as girls that nice ladies wore one. Lol
SherylB, my RO said the same. Cream and polysporin and gently rub. Lots of cream. But, yes it is hard not to pick lol ;-( I'm a picker!!!0 -
Good Morning! I thought that I had turned off my automatic email notifications by mistake. Being on the West Coast by the time I get up this page is usually full for me to read with my morning coffee. Nothing today, this is a first. I guess you are all tired from your table dancing. I hope you aren't all nursing hang overs! Everything in moderation, right.
Wherever you all are...I'm sure you are making it a great day!0 -
Good morning Believe, I was thinking it was strange how quiet it was here this morning as well. Have a great Sunday everyone!
0 -
iatigger - guess its just us! How are you spending your Sunday? I just got off the Beast, with weights. Still no movement on the scale, disappointing. We are have company coming for dinner later. I can't even bake, everyone is dieting. Sad. You can really tell when it's bathing suit season.
BTW - I always wear a bra. Gravity is not a good thing! I've gone back to my prior to BC models. I've bought all the new ones too but take comfort in my prior ones still fitting. Glad I didn't give them all away. In a moment of extreme drama, I thought I'd never be able to wear them again, wrong!0 -
Happy Sunday Ladies! I actually love that I don't have to wear a bra anymore because I haven't found one that is comfy yet! I do wear a tighter tank under my shirts though.
Today is a new day so I am going to attempt to find my happy! But think I am going to call my doctor tomorrow to ask for some drugs to help get me out of this dam funk because I can't pull myself out of it lately and really affecting my mojo and motivation. I am not much fun to be around so I think it is time. But I feel a little better today! It is raining here but warm enough to get outside for some fresh air!
Hope everyone is have a good weekend! Hugs!0 -
Believe, just a lazy sunday around our house. Getting ready to head into Target for some shopping. Being in the Livestrong program has definately toned me up but the weight hasn't changed much. Need to kick it in gear before swimsuit season. The way the weather has been around here, not sure if that will ever come. MCook can relate to the weather. I am guessing that is having some affect on why you are in a funk, I know my motivation stinks too. Hope you can find something to get you past that hump. Well family is waiting to take off so talk to you gals later.

Good afternoon lovely ladies! I can't believe that today is already Sunday and we have to go to work tomorrow.
I went and saw my nephew yesterday, he was asleep the whole time. When he went in yesterday for his surgery, the surgeon decided that his leg was not able to be saved. So tomorrow morning he goes into surgery to have his leg amputated. I honestly believe that this is the best decision, since his leg will never grow. They told Alex today about the surgery tomorrow, he seems to be doing ok with it.
The hubby left this morning to go back to work, he will be gone for 3 weeks. Normally the first couple of days is the hardest. I have so much to do before Thursday. Monday my son has 2 games, tuesday and wednesday i have to clean my house top to bottom. Thursday we have the appraiser coming by to look at the house so we can get it refinanced and then we get Tay's results from her pathology results. when Jon and I bought our house 12 yrs ago we were so financially strapped and so far in debt. our interest rate was 7.5%, we have come so far since then that our interest rate now is 2.6%. I am so excited about that.
As far as bra's go, from May 2012 until march 2013 I wore these little cheap bras from walmart. Love them, still wear them occassionaly to sleep in at night. The bras I bought from Soma are fabulous. They are so comfortable.
Believe- how was your trip?
Iatigger- You have some of the cutest profile pics.
Mcook- still bummed i was unable to meet up with you last week.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Everyone must be so tired from all the table dancing they need a day to recover. Haha!!
Chrisrenee - thanks for the update and I think they are doing the best they can. How long after surgery will he need to remain in the hospital? Prayers and hugs still coming to your entire family. Keep us posted on your DD also.
As far as the bras go I have sagged for as long as I can remember and will never go out of the house without one. I hate them, but also hate the look without them. I just bought some new ones and am still having trouble since I still have water retention and therefore one is much bigger than the other. It is getting better, but still noticeable for me at least.
Mcook - I hope you get the help you need. I was at the same point you are at earlier and it was hard, but I finally came out of it and am doing much better now. Hugs to you.
Believe - good for you with all your company and vacations. We are going to NC on Friday with the kids. I hate the prep work but am looking forward to getting away with DH and the kids.
Hugs to everyone.0 -
Ah Chrisrenee - so sorry about the surgery tomorrow for your nephew. I'm sure his parents took all the pros and cons into their decision and made the right one. Very sad how life can change in a moment - although all life is better than the alternative. He's just too cute with that great big cowboy hat! Glad his spirits are good. I know we will all continue to pray. He's touched our hearts.
Sorry your DH is leaving again. Will his work always be like this? Seems like you are waiting a long time for Taylor's results.
I can't imagine how you young girls manage to do all that you do. And that you do it all with a smile.
My DH has a hard time sitting still. I could be a home body but I might miss something:-)
I couldn't resist baking. I made strawberry bread for our company. I've never made it before but hope it tasted as good as it looks.0 -
Oh Chrisrenee - my heart just breaks for what you, your family, your sister and those sweet children have had happened. I will add all of you to my prayer list ASAP. If there is anything at all I can help you with or anything you need, please just say the word, OK?
Sorrowful topics aside, you Gals all have such interesting and thought-provoking stories. Well, I am happy to announce the completion of Chemo and Neulasta shot #3 with just one more to go! Labs have been good, nausea a bit of a problem, bone pain and lead legs getting better. I'm planning on resting up for the next few days as my "MAN" is coming to see me from DC and it has been since August that I last saw him. We date by telephone every night but I am literally counting the days until he arrives on the 18th at DFW. We (I) am going to play a game with him to see if he can find me at his baggage claim as I plan to wear my best wig and disguise. That should start things off in a fun manner. Then, it's room service breakfast in bed for a week and some good times here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Peace y'all and a blessed week with minimal side effects!

Cmbernardi - so glad you checked in. I was thinking about you this morning. Glad you are nearing the end of treatments, the results are positive and you are playing your romantic adventure. Send pictures if possible.
Shari - where are you? I hope you are just busy. Let us know how you are doing.
The rest of you can't still be dancing and drinking. Hope you are also just busy.0
