So sad I can't see or write well yet. Slowly catching up but lose my place and have to try again. Like learning to read. Love all the photos. Nihahi hikes, girl scout trips, bulldog and babies. I have not forgotten anyone just can't make brain cooperate smoothly but I am living life through all your eyes and lives right now. Love reading about everyone's days. I'm here a lot just can't post well. Love to all

HELLO, BLUEBIRD!  Let us entertain you and make you happy to be here!  Take it slow and easy; let everything heal up and settle back into place. Rest your brain, sista.

Not a stuffed dog--a slobbery, gallumphing lug of a dogge.  She's wearing a Michigan Wolverine collar, did you notice, Bailey? She is so patient and loving when Aubrey clutches her jowls.  I know she understands that Aubrey is a human puppy and is to be tolerated and played with gently.

Ya know Sbel it's the weirdest thing....I can see the baby and the dog....but not the collar....I must be blue/gold color blind.....I know....it's a rare condition that skips a generation (me da is a HUGE MICHIGAN FAN....me sister and I be wearin' the green and white and drives him bonkers....such a disappointment to him).

Hi Blue.....I am sure reading is good for you....reading us.....EVEN BETTER. We might be safer in small doses, though! Love ya, honey!

I had my lat flap Sept 23rd.  I still have draining in my back on the left.  Does anyone know how long it takes for this to go away.  I am getting tired of having the PS drain the back with a needle

Sbe, what an adorable picture! Our little Emily had been licked in the face twice by Milli, their Golden Retriever, just the week after she was born. . . her hands and face had to be washed immediately. I can totally see her playing with Millie in a few months' time.  Timmie the cat was also very interested.

Bluebird, you need to rest and heal up. Rest the brain like Sbe suggests. It is hard to be patient, but just know we are always here for you, and we understand if you cannot read and post regularly. ((((((((((Bluebird))))))))))

Bink, it certainly does not sound normal that you are still draining 6 months after surgery.

Hey Blue.....so good to hear from you. I think you're doing WONDERFULLY, given what you've been through....give yourself the time to heal. If reading is really bothering you, try running your finger along the words as you read. If you need a bit more help, take a piece of cardboard, and cut out a "window" in the middle of the cardboard, the width and length of a line of print. Put that over what you want to read, so all you see is the words in the window....helps your eyes stay on track. No worries about keeping up...I've got you tucked in the backpack for every outing Nerdy

Sweet pic, sbe....those two look like real friends, for sure.

bailey....I think it's a perfect day for you Spartan fans.....(I'll give you one, just one day.....then it's back to the blue and gold).

Bink....sorry, I have no answers for you. Compression might help, but that would be tricky with a lat flap. What does your PS say???

Great to hear from you, Bluebird. Just sit back and let this group entertain you, and know we are thinking of you. Just take it easy and slow. You need your rest. (((Hugs)))

BLUEBIRD.........IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR SIGHT IS GOOD.....WHEN YOU SAY IT IS AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WEAR GLASSES TO SEE... WE WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL

LARGE PRINT WILL HELP YOU BE ABLE TO READ WITHOUT GLASSES.

MAY TAKE A FEW DAYS FOR EYES TO FOCUS RIGHT

    HI, BLUEBIRD! LOVE YOU! HUGS!

Sbel, so cute! That photo made me smile.

    Bailey, looks like such fun!

Oh my goodness, Mammalou, I'm sorry you don't have answers yet. Hoping it is nothing or an incidentaloma....

I'm hoping when I see a GI doc this Friday afternoon, it is nothing. I also hope that if I have a colonoscopy in the near future, my good eye won't be affected by a drop in bp! In God's hands.

Just had a call from my PS office. They are moving my surgery up to March 31, that's Monday in a week. I say bring it on. The sooner I can be done with this, the better. I'll be getting a nipple on the recon breast, a lift of the healthy breast, and a little liposuction on the left side of the tummy scar where I have a bit of a dog ear. I have a question for the veterans here. How 'debilitated' will I be after this? I know this surgery is not a big deal, and have committed to play piano in church on the Sunday 6 days after the surgery. Will I be able to do it?

liefie, I have no experience with lifting of the healthy side, but my gut tells me that it would be a pretty painful thingy. You can feel everything on that side, correct? If the area and the amount of lipo is very small (like mine), the pain should be minimum at 6 days out. No experience with nipple either, I still have my originals.

Sorry, Bink182, no experience with lat flap here.

Bink ...,I agree with liefie...IMHO I don't think you should be still draining six  months after ANY surgery. That being said, I was still draining several months after mx and rads....so I say put your foot down, sister! Ask to see a wound specialist.

Liefie YAY! I flew out of town six days after  stage II with lots of lipo and all my incisions revised, including the lift. I bet you can make your date.

Jeannie hugs darlin'. You're really such a trooper.

Deb Dylan hugs to you too. It's hard to know what to do sometimes. You will find your way. Think of all you've come through already :) you'll be all right.  Are there any insurance companies in your area offering to help people figure out if they can go through exchange or not? Blue cross of MI is all over the radio here telling people to call them for help.

Ok headed to Thing 1's Eagle Scout board of review....so I should be the proud mama of an Eagle Scout in a few hours.

It's his day and I wouldn't say something to my family that would make it about me....but I will tell my sisters here because I know you get it....all day long I've just been nearly in tears because God let me stay here on Earth to see this day. I am a lucky, grateful girl.

    Love to all!

Thanks, Bailey! I thought it would be doable. Won't even let on that I had surgery. Congrats on Thing 1, and we get those emotions you are going through. That's what I felt when I hugged that little baby for the first time almost 3 weeks ago, just so very grateful that I was able to experience something so joyful and so wonderful.

liefie and tammy....I heartily agree with your comments to bailey....and yes, dear bailey.....we DO GET IT!!!! Milestones in life, involving people we love, are emotional moments....the "awareness" of how extra special our ability to share those moments becomes after all the bc stuff, cannot help but bring tears of relief, gratitude and joy.

liefie....can't speak to anything yet except the life of the natural breast. I had a lift and reduction at the time of my flap....can't say the sensation/pain/discomfort were an issue, but, admittedly, I had other things distracting me at the time!

bosum....the first couple years post end of tx can be a real rollercoaster, emotionally. I understand the "desire to not deal with the lump" mindset, but that is not a healthy choice for you, even considering the financial concerns. Can you really "put it out of your mind"....or would it just hang over you like a sword about drop. Try to make choices that lead you to a better place, financially, physically and emotionally. Little "positive" choices each day, will eventually lead you to a better "place". I'm so sorry the healthcare system where you are, makes your ability to access care so difficult.

Oh Bosum.....I don't think you're "foolish" at all. I DO totally get the "I can only handle so much at this time" mindset.....I just encourage you to try to make the "healthiest for the present and future" choices you can. If today isn't full of the "best choices", you always get a fresh chance tomorrow.

I don't completely understand the system in the states, but as bailey suggested, is there no one who you can access to help you sort out some of the insurance/health coverage minefield??

re: your hubby/court issues....weren't you trying to keep your health status"hidden" from the judge before??? I can't believe being open about your dx and tx would work against you in court. I don't mean using it as a "poor me thing", just as a way to verify what you've been dealing with. Maybe, I'm being naive about the legal system....Hang in there.

Yes, Bo, it's the Arrow of Light, which is the highest award in Cub Scouts and you should keep it! Even a single year in Scouting is something to be proud of. My boys have dabbled in various sports and junior high band, but Scouting has really been their thing. Other kids do sports or band or theater or whatever.....and spend just as much time and energy on those things.....there just isn't an award for perseverance in marching band!

Try here maybe? https://localhelp.healthcare.gov/ (if you haven't) it lists a couple of hundred places in the state of NJ to get help. Idk...I feel so bad. The whole thing is such a bleeping mess. Infuriating. Sorry your ex is being a $@));;//##_?;;©¥{¿~%] <>>^`®£. As if you don't have enough on your plate.

As Bluebird says, fall down seven times, get up eight.

movie....not wiser.....just maybe more "life experienced" at times, compared to you gals who are newer to the "veteran of bc" trip.

Bosum....this may sound harsh....but....it's coming from someone who has spent many hours on hold and still had to drive to Montana just to prove I'm alive and married, because of a "computer glitch"....and some people STILL haven't agreed that I'm amongst the living yet!....here goes.....I don't mean to offend....but.......

You're currently not working (so no job to rush to get to), fresh out of bc tx (relatively speaking), still wanting to find a better recon result......AND.....you have found a new lump (likely nothing to it, but until you know for sure.......) SO WHAT IF YOU SPENT 4 HOURS ON HOLD....spend 40 HOURS if need be.....what else would you have done with those 4 hours that would address those issues for you. Put it on speaker phone and spend the wait giving yourself the world's craziest pedicure, or if you're one of the clean ladies...start your spring cleaning...you don't have to sit with the phone in your hand, until someone picks up......OK.....lecture over.....hugs.....hope the info from bailey is more helpful than me.
