WOW Eric. Do you know how long you'll be there? Hope at least the work is interesting.

Delicious broccoli salad from Chicken Salad Chick last night.

Eric, With those hours they should be serving you dinner.

Minus, Those Chicken Salad Chick items look delicious. Unfortunately the restaurant was founded after I moved north for the last time.

    Dinner tonight was spinach ravioli.

We had crispy baked chicken thighs and leftover cheesy potatoes from the dinner on Mary's deck on Saturday night.

Tonight we may go to Clancy's.

This morning it's very quiet in the campground. Mary and Lymon departed yesterday and will be flying out of Fargo tomorrow to FL, where they have a home. By the end of next weekend, all of the "seasonals" will be gone for the winter.

Can of walmart chili. Better than that last one, LOL.

Got home to the dog-idiots screaming at us because I complained that he broke the leash-law-again. He actually bought a bullhorn and is screaming at us, since he can't come here because I filed a no-trespass request.

Seattle wasn't as horrible a trip as I expected. Some construction but nothing bad. DH's oral exam went well. Still needs 3x-day chlorhexidine rinse, but that is a small price to pay.

Carole, Enjoy the quiet and Clancy's meatloaf while you can. This is my favorite season of the year.

Wally, Good news that your DH’s jaw is holding steady. I still use chlorhexidine whenever there is any hint of a problem in my mouth. I’m sorry your leash law ignoring neighbor has responded with the bullhorn; hopefully his voice will give out soon.

Dinner tonight was grilled sun dried tomato / basil chicken breast, corn on the cob and potato salad.

Hamberger celery milk gravy over noodles, with a fresh side salad. I love stroganoff style meals so this did it for me. It was a very lean and lightened up meal so it sat well with me too.

Carole kind of bittersweet I expect with the friends leaving.

Wally, your neighbors remind me of something from the "Honeymooners" if it were not actually happening to you. They would worry me and I'd steer clear, as it seems you do.

    Maggie, yum!

The neighbors sound scary to me, too. Sorry you have to deal with them, Wally.

DH had the meatloaf special last night and I had the Reuben sandwich with fresh potato fries. We both enjoyed our choices. The golf cart ride to and from the restaurant was pleasant. We will definitely miss going out to dinner in a golf cart.

Reader, I like stroganoff style meals, too.

Carole, I can see why you will miss the golf cart rides to eat out.

Dinner tonight was artichoke chicken casserole.

Yesterday was a large green salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, hard boiled egg, red cabbage, carrots & sunflower seeds. Today's meal was 1/2 an egg salad sandwich on pumpernickel. I'll have two small pieces of dark chocolate for dessert.

Dentist tomorrow. He thinks he can do a filling for a good size hole on the outside face of the 1st molar. I think it will have to be either a crown or a root canal. BOY do I hate dentists.

    Artichoke chicken casserole sounds yummy.

A big ribeye for dinner. Too big for us to eat all of it. A chopped salad with lots of ingredients. Also too big.

DH has lost his taste for food again, following the bout of what seemed to be norovirus. It makes the What's for Dinner? question more problematic.

Our neighbor Sandy, who lives in one of the two condos, has become an enthusiastic sour dough bread baker. She brought over a sample for us yesterday. It was delicious with a finer texture than most sour dough bread I've eaten. I'm tempted to create a starter when I get home but we don't need to eat a lot of bread, especially white flour bread. I will pick up on making Einkorn flour bread with half whole wheat and half all purpose.

    Minus, good luck.

Carole, so sorry to hear about DH's loss of taste. Mine was going through something similar but in his case, the chlorhexidine binding to his taste receptors. Brushing his tongue should help.

Palliative care PA was super nice and with it and a delight to have in our home.

Too sunny to fish. DH had the last of the goat ribs; I had raw scallops. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Minus, I hope you can get away with a filling but if necessary a root canal/crown will last longer.

Carole, I hope your DH’s taste buds recover. Norovirus can have nasty SEs. Sourdough bread is better for you than other white breads but I tend to ear too much of it if it is homemade and good.

Wally, Yum on the scallops. I’m glad the palliative care PA is good.

Dinner tonight was steak, squash and onion rings.

Yummy dinners! And I learned something. I did not know scallops could be eaten raw! I love grilled and broiled scallops.

Out for Italian tonight. I had angel hair pasta with marinara and turkey meatballs. DH had same, except he had beef meatballs. Yum, but a pretty carb-y day for me today. Need to do better tomorrow.

Minus I feel you on the dentist. I see them tomorrow.

Carole, I'm sorry DH has lost his appetite. Hope he recovers fully from the gut "bad stuff" soon.

I didn't know scallops were eaten raw either.

DH suggested pasta for dinner so we had our standby. Linguini with Rao's and ground beef. Grated romano. Delicious.

I cut the leftover ribeye into thin slices and enjoyed a steak sandwich for lunch.

Mapo tofu but I used chinese eggplant instead of ground meat. Delish. Instead of rice, I used mashed sweet potato (leftovers I needed to use up) as the carb.

The dog-idiots took their camper and left…I hope forever but a few days is good; took a beta blocker to calm myself this morning. Pure evil lives next to us.

Wally, I hope your nasty neighbors stay away for a while. You have enough going on without all that added stress.

Carole and Reader, I had never thought of spaghetti and meatballs/meat sauce as comfort food but I guess they are.

Thanks to that dinner tonight was meatballs in Rao’s on spaghetti.

Hamburger helper Crunchy Taco flavor. It’s been a very warm week here and now we are getting some much needed rain along with very vivid lightning and thunder.

One hot dog each and Bush's baked beans.

I have very ripe tomatoes and may make some tomato soup with them today. Need to look up some recipe ideas.

Carole, I love cream of tomato soup made from fresh tomatoes.

    m0mmy, Enjoy the lightning shows.

Dinner tonight was leftover meatballs on spaghetti.

Tonight was taco salad, yum 😋

I’m back from Houston after delays due to inconclusive imaging. All good in the body but 2 possible new brain mets, followed by a spine MRI and radiation scheduled but cancelled due to an extensive review of MRI’s back to 2021 and opinions that they might just be evidence of prior radiation, just visible enough to see now. Back in a month for more advanced imaging. Annoyed by the cost of 12 days in a hotel but pleased to have no changes for now.

It was a very impressive lightning show last night. Also got some much needed rain here.

Tonight was Sweet n Sour Chicken

Tonight was pulled chicken BBQ, tzatziki with cucumbers, and a big side salad. DH wanted baked beans also, so I warmed some up for him.

Illimae that's a lot of days in a hotel but glad things seem to be heading in the right direction.

Illimae, you are my hero (you and my DH).

Leftover mapo tofu tonight, this time, brown rice instead of sweet potato. I made enough rice to make rice pudding tomorrow. DH loves it.

    carolehalston Member Posts: 8,196

Illimae, fingers crossed for no new mets. You have been missed on this forum.

I did make the fresh tomato soup yesterday using a recipe. With no food mill I used a big ricer that I happen to have because it wasn't purchased at a nearby house friend's garage sale some years ago. It was a messy process. The soup is thin and bland. Probably needs cream.

More successful was a chili thrown together with ground beef and canned beans. We had it for dinner.

Wonderful sleeping the last two nights with temperatures in the 50's. Then warming up during the day to a comfortable temperature.
