Know what bugs me?
I'm new to a breast cancer diagnosis. This site is the most comprehensive I've found, for which I'm grateful. What I'm NOT grateful for is nearly every post is filled with acronyms that are not first defined for some of us who have no idea what you're talking about! Please be thoughtful and define the acronyms at least…

AC or CMF?
I am trying to decide between AC chemo (8 weeks) or CMF (6 months) Wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom? I am most worried about long term effects on the heart or nervous system. I had my 1st cancer 15 years ago on the other breast and had TC chemo which messed with the nerves in my legs, so I didn't want to do that…

Scalp during/after hair loss
I’m 17 days post first infusion. My scalp started being very tender about day 13. Hair started falling in earnest on day 14. I’m not bald yet, but it’s coming out in clumps. I’ve read many posts about hair loss, but I’m wondering more specifically about the scalp pain. Does the pain stop when the hair is all gone? If not,…

TC vs. CMF
I had a lumpectomy a month ago. The tumor was smallish with micrometastatic carcinoma in one lymph node. The doctors initially thought that I would need radiation but not chemo, but after getting my oncotype (28), the medical oncologist is strongly recommending chemo, too. She's given me two choices: AT (4 doses, each 3…

I am in my dose dense AC era right now and looking ahead to starting Taxol. My oncologist has given me the choice of 12 weekly Taxol or 4 dose dense Taxol every other week.
