Regimens, side effects, and support from others going through chemo.
My daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023. Had double mastectomy and 4 rounds of chemo. Now, 2 years later had cancerous node removed in lymph nodes. A PET scan was done and they found a 3.5cm oblong tumor in chest wall. She does not meet all the criteria for triple negative but Oncologist want to treat it like…
I am trying to decide between AC chemo (8 weeks) or CMF (6 months) Wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom? I am most worried about long term effects on the heart or nervous system. I had my 1st cancer 15 years ago on the other breast and had TC chemo which messed with the nerves in my legs, so I didn't want to do that…
I didn’t achieve pCR after DMX. My oncologist doesn’t feel like Xeloda is aggressive enough for my next line of treatment for my TNBC. Trodelvy is on the table, but she’s also looking for drug trials I might be eligible for. Looking for others in a similar situation - what are you taking and what side effects are you…
hello I have to start AC chemo in a few weeks. I’m so scared by the reputation it has. I’m terrified of nausea as I’m emetephobic. I’m just finishing my taxol , carboplatinum 12 weeks. I’m hoping there are some positive stories .
Hi, I finished 8 out of 12 Taxol and the first 4 A/C. At first the treatments were not awful, I have to say. Actually, I felt A/C was easier than the Taxol. But things have been getting progressively worse. GI, severe bone/muscle/joint pain, neuropathy in hands and feet, my legs felt like I could hardly stand sometimes and…

I was diagnosed with Stage 2 non invasive ductal carcinoma in March 2025 at 35 years old. I completed 12 weekly rounds of chemo but rounds 9-12 caused me to have fevers and loose strength every week. I have now started the red chemo but I feel even weaker and am worried the chemo will kill me at this rate. I’ve told my Dr…
I recently came across an article about fasting 2 days before and 1 day after chemo. It's suppose to minimize side effects and make treatment more manageable. I have just started treatment and looking for helpful advice for coping with side effects. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this
I jus done my Oncotype dx test and they are recommending me do chemo. I am very scared and dont want to do it. I had a double mastectomy to help prevent the recurrence. What do you think?
I have to do an urgent chemo, Caelyx ( I will explain more in the "metastasis to liver" section). I have an urgent question: I read many studies that state it is better to fast before and after chemo. Is that correct? Thank you
