Wanted: Veteran Members of the Fanny Pack to Share Experiences
All, I'm eager to discuss the side effects of long-term IM injections with others who have been on Fulvestrant/Faslodex treatment for many years. Do you have increasing pain, discomfort and mobility issues? Have you suspected the cause to be repeated injections themselves rather than inept administration? Have you changed…

Mets to lungs with pleural effusion.
Hi, I'm still here but haven't been on in awhile due to life situations. My lung Mets disappeared from PET/CT scans for 3 years but now 3 are back with one doubling in last 9 months to 2.1cm along with new pleural effusion. Scan says it's small and Onc feels like PE is caused by inflammation from large node that is leaking…

Bone mets diagnosed while pregnant
Hello all, I was diagnosed with BC in 2016, at 34. I am 40 now and 3,5 months pregnant with my first child. I ve had a severe back pain and also my CA 15-3 was slightly elevated. MRI of thoraic spine found a lesion in my sternum. This is all I know for now. I also know that if I want to stay pregnant, I can not have the…

Feeling Inconsequential
I don't know if any of you feel this way, or if I'm just in a funk, or if I'm just a crazy person, but I'm feeling…inconsequential. I went to law school almost 20 years ago, and people I went to school with and worked with now have important jobs. Think federal appellate judge. And I have...MBC. I hated being a lawyer, and…

I'm back..
7 Years of clean scans, finally stopped being my first and last thought of every day and here I freaking am. Mets on multiple vertebrae and probably in my right lung as well but not sure about that one yet, waiting on test results. At least my kids are grown this time.. but now I have grandbabies. I'm freaking out.

10 years and wondering who has taken a break from treatment
hello! I have not been on the boards for a long long time. I had to take a break for my mental health, also because I have done extremely well, and then had to take care of my mother during her ovarian cancer diagnosis through her passing…. So today I met with my oncologist and he said since it has been 10 years since my…

*spoiler alert* Thor: Love and Thunder
I can’t be the only one here who has a kid that’s obsessed with everything Marvel. In the new Thor movie, Jane Foster has MBC and dies at the end of the movie (after being a bad ass superhero for most of it). I’m on the fence whether or not my son should see the movie. Here’s an interesting article on it:…

Twists and turns
The whole experience of stage 4 for me had been filled with twists and turns and just sheer dumb luck. Covid, delayed treatments, health issues. After attempting the oral chemo I was able to do three days before I ended up in the floor. I just ended a 12 day hospital stay where they have determined that there is no viable…

11 years since original diagnosis
It almost escaped my notice but it was almost exactly 11 years ago that I was dx’ed with breast cancer. Although considered stage IIB initially, a bone met was found incidentally a mere six weeks later. The met was radiated and I have had no progression since. Time really does fly. I am incredibly grateful but my most…

Concerned about progression
<sigh>. About 6 weeks ago I noticed a lump on the same side as my original diagnosis. I’m not sure if it’s something new, or scar tissue that I’ve already had a biopsy done to “prove” that it’s not a concern. I’ve noticed the same breast is shrinking in size (can cancer leave ANYTHING alone?!) so I’m not sure if it’s just…

Hair
I was just on the zoom call and I wanted to ask why most everyone has hair. Lori was only one who mentioned losing hair. Mine was falling out byhandfull so we just shaved it short. Thank

Stage IV - Mutation PIK3CA
Good afternoon. I would like to know which of you have this mutation? When did you find out? What treatment have you been following all this time? And is there anyone who did it? Read about Pikri. They have bad effects. Problems with blood sugar and people sit on it for no more than 5-7 months. So, there is no cure for…

Not mentally well- how to deal with the stress
This week, while getting one of my infusions, I was in so much pain that I asked the nurse if she knew if euthanasia waa legal in the current state. She responded that it's not and walked away. Ended up having a private conversation with the head nurse. I apologized about my comments because I freaked out that nurse. Got…

Solid Lung Nodules
Hi Ladies, I hope you are all doing well. It's been a long time since I've posted anything so I hope you forgive my absence. At my catscan in October they found several small 2-3 mm lung nodules. My oncologist said not to worry as they were most likely nothing. I had my next 6-month scan just last week and they found…

I cant wait until the Oncologist contacts me
I had a bone scan today because my tumor markers have been increasing and this is what the report says. Do you know what it could mean? Am i understanding it correctly? Has my cancer gone to the bones? TIA

Lobular Oncologists in the Dallas Area
Hi there, First time posting but been lurking for the past 5 years since my diagnosis. We are moving to the Dallas area (East of Dallas) and looking for an oncologist or a clinic for my lifetime treatment. MD Anderson doesn't have any location in Dallas, odd. And they don't have any referral to a cancer center either. And…

Feeling offended
Let me say before I type any more, I am not directing this gripe to anyone in particular. I just need to vent and only my stage iv sisters would understand. My sincere apologies if I offend anyone, that is truly not my intention. I am young (under 50) with a Stage IV diagnosis. I’m grateful that I’m doing well, but I can…

Pls some positive stories. There have to be some
had stage 3 TNBC. Hit me hard w all the treatments. Found spot they were sure was arthritis. Small spot in pelvis area. Told yesterday stage 4. They are 80% sure it’s cancer. I’m focusing on the 20% chance it’s not but they need to treat it of course. I have a 5 year old. I have to be here to see him at least grown and…

UGH- felt a lump
During a shower last night, I felt a lump on my “bad” side. Part of me wants to ignore it. I keep feeling it to see if it really feels like a lump, or maybe something different. Yup, in denial.

How quickly do tumor markers drop during treatment?
I have been on Abraxane since the end of September. My tumor markers dropped but they are dropping slowly. I haven’t seen my MO to ask him since I saw my last marker so I’m asking all you knowledgeable people. This is how much they have been dropping. Is this too slow? This last time they didn’t drop from previous check.…

Travellers insurance advice
hi. I know I've seen some of you planning wonderful trips. I've searched but not found any specifics here about traveller's insurance for international travel. If all goes well (and I manage to renew my passport on time! Ugh, pandemic made me neglect so much) we hope to visit family this summer. I will be a few months out…
