How long did you have to wait…
For those whose pathology came back with benign findings, how long did you have to wait for results of your biopsy? I had my biopsy on Friday the 28th, and they are still not back as of today, Thursday the 3rd. It feels like an eternity waiting and it makes me wonder if it means the outcome of the biopsy is bad. Thanks

ALH, PASH, Sclerosing Adenosis - Remove?
I am 47 years old and high risk (27.2%) and have MRI and mammo screens rotating every six months. I also had a breast reduction in 1995 so I have quite a bit of scar tissue and I also have dense breasts - my mother had DCIS removed at age 63. I had a prior biopsy in 2015 that was a ruptured cyst with fibroadenomatoid…

Mild breast pain on right side (had IDC on left side in 2015)
I've had mild pain in my right breast for the last two-ish weeks. I saw my surgeon about it and she scheduled a mammogram for Feb 9 (that was the soonest available). I asked her if an MRI or sonogram would be appropriate, and she said an MRI would probably show too much and a sonogram not enough. You can see my history in…

Fibroadenoma that didn’t show on ultrasound
Hello, I’m high risk so I get regular MRI’s. On my last one they found a new mass, that they then tried to see on an ultrasound, but it didn’t show there. I had it biopsied but I’m very worried and trying to think of all the benign things it could potentially be to reassure mysel. I’m wondering if anyone has ever had a…

Lump gone after biopsy?
Hi, I've had a lump just under my nipple that has been monitored by mammogram and ultrasound for about two years. It was pretty much round, mostly smooth feeling and not painful. After my last checkup, the radiologist said that she's pretty sure it's not anything to worry about, but she booked me for a biopsy anyway. I had…

Waiting for biopsy again
I’m 58 no family or personal history of bc. Last year when I had my mammogram and double breast ultrasound (I have dense breasts, level C) the radiologist saw distortion in left breast. I then had mri which came back highly suspicious of dcis BiRADS 4 and then I had another mri for the biopsy—7samples we're taken. The…

Maybe someone can explain me this?
So I have lumps in my breasts, I posted before but long story short after bi rads 4 ultrasound, MRI was ordered which ended as bi rads 2 and then another ultrasound to compare the results - bi rads 3. What concerns me is that since these were done by different doctors, the way they described results also differ and I have…

Diagnosis Usual Ductal Hyperplasia---surgery?
My diagnosis was Usual Ductal Hyperplasia (UDH). It's been in my breast for seven years, although I never received any indication of it in the letters from Radiology about my mammograms, and my primary care physician never discussed it with me. What a blow. I'm still gathering data because some of the research papers on…

Normal cells a surprise so they want to do surgery
Hi everyone. I am going for a second opinion next week but was hoping to "speak" to someone who has had a similar experience. An area of architectural distortion was found on mammo and I was called in for a repeat followed by an ultrasound. I was told that I needed a vacuum assisted biopsy. I was warned that it was…

2 1/2 years out; Could the Atypia be back?
In June of 2019, I woke up on my husband's 58th birthday with a bloody discharge from the nipple on my left breast. That old saying about never googling your symptoms because within 3 clicks of the mouse you are planning your funeral arrangements is true! I walked into the kitchen a blubbering mess, convinced I was dying,…

Complicated cyst ?
I just had my mammogram yesterday , 9 months after my mastectomy (left breast) for DCIS. I was nervous a bit coming to my appointment. The mammogram technician took 2 pictures of my right breast, and asked me to wait while the radiologist review the images. She came back shortly, taking 3 more images, saying that the…

Ruptured cyst concern
Hello, I had a diagnostic mammogram 3 days ago. I had many cysts, but a fairly large one in one breast. I told the lady before thw mammogram I was worried because it was tender a ready and large that it might pop. She said she never heard of that happening before, so we went ahead. We had all the extra squishes due to it…

Well I didn’t expect to be back on here, I am a 8 year survivor. I got called back on my annual mammo this year and that pit has been in my stomach since. This time it’s the left breast. The memories come rushing back remembering that unknowns of the first few weeks are paralyzing emotionally. After the second mammo I was…

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I had a mammogram in September, called back for MRI with and without contrast, called back for Ultrasound to see blood supply, called back to have stereotactic core needle biopsy. Results are in, now what?
I received my results Friday, as follows: Benign breast tissue with radial scar and foci of pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia. Negative for atypia and carcinoma. Thank goodness for the negative result. No call from doctor yet, suppose it will be Monday or Tuesday. I am reading that a radial scar unless as a result of…

Complex Sclerosing Lesions / Radial Scar....again
Has anyone had multiple Radial Scars? Is there such a thing as possibly being prone to them? In 2019, I had an abnormal mammogram which showed an architectural distortion on my left breast. I got a stereotactic biospy which showed it was benign but I still had to have an excisional biopsy. Pathology came back Radial Scar…

Exisional Biopsy Soon
I’m getting pretty nervous about my Exisional Biopsy Monday the 9th. The nurse called yesterday and asked if had bathing instructions. I hadn’t even thought of that. I’m putting fresh sheets on the bed, have wipes for sponge baths, easy to open pain relievers. I was not given any prep instructions. Any ideas on how to…

All the vague symptoms of fibrocystic breasts.
Hey all, Hope everyone here is having a great week. I'm mostly having one, but I have fibrocystic breasts, and I've entered the PMS phase of my cycle, so I'm dealing with all the fun that comes with that. Last year around June or July I found a lump, got a benign fibroadenoma diagnosis and was told I have fibrocystic…

Misdiagnosed
Please, bear with me, as this will be long and involves possible medical neglect/nonfeasance. I had my regular mammogram about a month ago and it came back normal. However, my PCP called me and said I have dense breasts and should get an ultrasound. This was my third mammogram and the first time I heard I had dense…

One swollen breast, no other symptoms
Hey guys, so I've been stressing out about this and can't find any answers that sound plausible and was wondering if anyone else has had something similar. The other day I noticed my left breast was pretty swollen--over a cup size bigger. It felt like it happened almost overnight, but I can't be sure. Definitely not more…

Subaereolar abscess and mastitis periductal.
hello, I would like to share experiences with other women who have suffered from abscesses in the breast or from periductal mastitis. Mastectomy for fibroadenoma?
Let me start with some back story. Breast cancer does run in my family, to an extent. It hasn't, thankfully, affected much of my family recently. On my dad's side, my grandmother had breast cancer. My great aunt had breast cancer. There are some other family members that are second-degree relatives that also had breast…

Question about 6 month follow up after benign biopsy
I am 63 and had a first mammogram earlier this year. It showed faint calcifications in both breasts. Bilateral Diagnostic mammogram with magnification was done. Ultrasound was done on right breast and ruled out any concerns. As a pre caution, a biopsy was done on right breast only. Biopsy showed fibrocystic changes, no…
