Drinking Alcohol after Breast Cancer
Hi Everyone, I have been on this website a lot since my diagnosis (September 2022), and this is my first post, so please forgive me if this topic is on here somewhere - but I just couldn't find it. What are you thoughts about drinking alcohol after breast cancer? I am petrified of recurrence, even though I am at low risk.…

grade 1, Oncotype 35
My cousin has a grade 1 IDC, 1.7cm, ER/PR+ (ER is 90% I believe), HER2- but Oncotype is 35. I got her text at 3 am and was shocked. For grade 1 tumors less than 1cm, 97% had low Oncotypes. Granted hers is slightly larger. She is 70, already in ill health with IgA immune deficiency (she has been getting IVG) with frequent…

What will an MRI tell me that I don't already know?
I was recently diagnosed with IDC grade 1 100% ER and PR + HER2 -, I'm currently waiting on genetic testing results and going for an MRI in a couple of days. My question(s) is what is the purpose of the MRI? Is this standard procedure? Will it possibly show something more than they have already seen? I'm just ready to get…

How much did your breast change/shrink after rads?
It's been recommended to me to have a lumpectomy with rads however through research I've discovered that obviously the lumpectomy removes volume, but that radiation can significantly shrink or damage the breast. I'm already a B cup and asymmetrical and the mass is in my smaller breast. I'm VERY concerned that the outcome…

I’m Having Iron Infusion——Share your experience please!!!!!
Hi Friends: I know lots of you have had iron infusions. I'm having one this week. I'm a little nervous because there are side effects. What have you all experienced? Was iron infusion a great thing for you? Did it improve your energy levels post infusion? I'm low in iron and pulls weren't really working well enough. So…

Metastasized?
I had a lumpectomy a few weeks ago and start chemo in a few weeks. My oncologist ordered a few scans in between. I had a CT scan today and I saw my results online before the nurse called. It showed a few lesions (2-3 mm) on my lung and kidney. I was freaking out a bit and assumed I was going to have to have more scans…

Nipple Reconstruction or 3D Tattoo only?
Looking for advice following a successful bilateral mx implant. Very happy with results. Next I have to decide if I want to get a nipple reconstruction or should I just go with a 3D tattoo instead. My surgeon said that a reconstruction means that the nipple is always erect and while it will flatten over time I should…

Estrogen Positive, Progesterone Negative, Her2 Negative
I am going to see an oncologist tomorrow. Does anyone else ER+ and PR-? It is my understanding that taxomxifin is not as effective due to being PR- and an Aromatase Inhibiter is more effective. My Oncotype DX score is 26. I wonder if I should have chemo. From what I have read it does not seem like it would be that helpful.

Bone metastasis or osteoporosis - very anxious waiting
I was diagnosed with stage 1a, grade 3, er+, pr-, her2- BC in August 2020. 1 of 4 nodes with a micromet, others clean. Had a double masectomy and 4 rounds of DD AC and 4 rounds of DD taxol. I have been on arimidex ever since. As someone on the taller and thinner side I have always had back issues. Now I have a fractured…

Clear margins, but cancer in lymph node
A little over a week ago, I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. My surgeon just called me yesterday with the results. I was happy to hear that I have clear margins, but then she said there was a 2.5 mm metastatic carcinoma found in one of my 3 lymph nodes that were biopsied. How happy should I be that my margins are…

Is this considered triple negative?
I just my follow up with my surgeon. Margins are clear, the 6 lymph nodes she took out had 0 cancer. The estrogen was low positive, just 3% and the progesterone and HER2 were negative. It is stage 1, grade 2. I will have radiation for sure and she's thinking no chemo but that will be up to the oncologist. I will get a call…

IDC - HER2+, starting Chemo this week maybe
Everything is moving kind of fast. Friday before last, I just went in because my right breast and under the arm were sore. Flash forward to now, and I've had a mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy, and met with a surgeon and an oncologist. Originally the surgeon wasn't until Tuesday, and the oncology appointment wasn't until…

Please help me with biopsy results
I'm waiting to get my first meeting with surgeon and MO at Dana Farber next week, but am trying to understand my biopsy results better (I found out I had cancer on Friday, I'm still in a depressive/anxious daze): Mass was: 11mm x 9mm x 5mm IDC, ER+ (93.94% strong), PR+ (95.27%) strong, HER-2 negative (1+ negative) KI-67:…

Oncotype score and feeling bad
My onctotype score came back yesterday and was a 23. I am pre-menopausal and under 50 with a grade 3 tumor so was feeling okay about it until I was reading and realized most people score less and don't need chemo. I will be having taxotere and cytoxan for four cycles three weeks apart. But even with chemo and hormone…

Hope Bells Replace Traditional “Ringing the Bell” at UL in Ky
I am so happy to see this change at one of the hospitals in my state! None of us are ever guaranteed to be “finished" with breast cancer, butthose with recurrent or metastatic cancer often have to watch the bell being rung over and over again by patients who are finished with their current chemo or radiation. I love the…

Hormone therapy or not if bad side effects
5 months now on Letrozole…post 20 radiation treatments after removal of 1 cm invasive ductal carcinoma, oncotype 17 and no nodes positive but high grade all markers. The severe hot flashes are back and with adrenaline rushes that keep me from falling quickly back to sleep. Been awake every 1-2 hrs for years now with hot…

had a second biopsy done few months after the first...
hello everyone. I just got a 2nd biopsy done and it showed scattered atypical ductal hyperplasia...in the anterior portion of the breast. i have an 9mm tumor in the same breast too...which they found in the first biopsy. So now they have to take more tissue out, if doing a lumpectomy. Is a lumpectomy still ok to do? I'm…

Regrets about not being better health advocate
I wasn't sure where to post this, but I wanted to put this out there in case anyone is in a similar situation. So, last summer I was concerned about breast changes and I looked at the letter from my previous mammo and noticed that they mentioned dense breast tissue and said that I "might benefit from supplementary…

Bruise/blemish
hi there, I have developed 2 lumps over time since my double diep flap operation in April last year. Fine needle biopsies came back as fat necrosis. They grow and maybe change shape (not sure). Now recently I see it looks bruised under the one lump, Quite a large bruise. Just want to know if anyone else has dealt with…

Newly diagnosed ER/PR -seeking buddies
Hello I posted last week in waiting for results. Results are in and I have stage IA IDC ER- PR- HER2 pending FISH. My Ki67 was 93%. Aggressive but caught very early. More tests this week before the official treatment plan. Any comments thoughts welcome. Feels a bit lonely in the world though I know that’s not true.

Significance of specific IDC histology features
Hi, all! I am between surgeries (April 6 and May 3) and probably have to much “restricted activity" time on my hands 🙃…I am hoping someone may be able to help me with understanding the significance of “Cribriform features" in IDC. I have been trying to find some information that is not about pure “Invasive Cribriform…

I've been able to get so many questions answered even when I couldn't post due to some of the tech glitches. I found out today pathology on…
