Has anybody decided to do excision only? Or active monitoring?
I have no intention of having radiation or hormone therapy. I am considering lumpectomy only or active monitoring. Has anyone else chosen this route?

Lumpectomy - no rads age 40
I recently had a lumpectomy for low grade DCIS. The pathology results showed all DCIS was removed at biopsy, so clean margins with atypia only. BS thought I could avoid radiation provided these results and my history of uncommon reactions to medicines. RO states it is my choice, however, per my younger age would still…

LCIS, ADH, ALH, Family History, Dense Breasts
Last week I had a central duct excision for bloody nipple discharge. The results came back today and show LCIS, ADH and ALH. I have a family history of breast cancer (my mother, twice IDC) as well as my sister (DCIS). My breasts are very dense and nodular which means i am constantly having ultrasounds. MRIs etc. Given…

RBS (red breast syndrome)
Has anyone else experienced RBS? Before I go into much detail, I'd like to find out if anyone else has experienced RBS in the last few years. I've been searching for more recent RBS info on the internet and there is hardly anything to be found. I developed RBS 3 months plus after I had my right breast reconstruction. I am…

Unclear about Oncologist’s treatment plan
I am so happy to have found this forum. I have read so many conflicting accounts of how to treat ILC that I don’t trust my oncologist’s plan. I have ILC - classic with Pleomorphic features, Onco DX score 16, tumor 7.7 (but really two masses measuring ~5 cm total and cancer cells in between them), no nodes. I had a…

Tamoxifen after 5 years?
Hi :) I am 54 years old and was on Arimidex for 1.5 years (side effects were too much for me) and Tamoxifen for 3.5 years. I was not menopausal when I started, but I am now. I assumed after five years that I would be done, but my oncologist has now said I should stay on for at least two more years. I'm seriously…

Tumor Invasion to Pectoral Muscle?
My tumor was in a very strange location- practically IN the cleavage- I mean, looking at the MRI it's right on top of the sternum (coming from the right breast) and was anchored there like a barnacle. MRI showed pectoral muscle and skin invasion (as I had a huge indent at the edge of my sternum as a symptom, then…

cold caps for hair, hands, and feet.
My sister was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer one month ago. Today was our first chemotherapy session. It went really good. The nurses suggested a cold cap because she is very scared of losing her hair. Does the cold cap really work? What are the best prices/places to get one? Also she used a cold cap for her hands…

Nipple discharge/letdown feeling
Hi all, I’ve been experiencing right clear/yellow nipple discharge from my right breast since Novemberish of last year. It’s only when I squeeze, never spontaneous. I’ve been to my Obgyn and had an ultrasound and a mammogram, which resulted nothing but dense breasts. There’s no palpable lumps. I had a prolactin level drawn…

CA 27-29 again: markers up, sigh
Hi amigas, Again with the markers. Jan was low 60s, then retested and dropped to 50, now 68 for my last check up. Of course I'm scared, but feel resigned--weirdly, isn't this what we all get warned about? ILC seems to recur later rather than earlier? I suppose I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Rest of current labs…

Sclerotic changes in spine
Hi, I’m new here, based in UK but reaching for a wider audience as I think our approach to follow up after primary BC is based on cost-effectiveness rather than comprehensiveness. I had lobular BC last year: ER/PR+, HER2-, grade 2, 3.5 cm, spread to 3 nodes, LVI, perineural invasion. Treated by mastectomy and radiotherapy.…
